Went for one week in March - 2 adults / 1 teen. Weather was perfect every day. Beach was clean, safe and swimmable. Service in all areas of the property was cheerful and efficient. The food at the restaurants - from Steakhouse to Japanese to French was authentic..The guests seemed to be friendly. There was no chair hogging, drunkenness or rudeness. The Fat-guy-Speedo ratio was thankfully low. Special thanks to Xodiul Estrada and her team for being so kind and helpful. Hopi g to come back

We went with a group of 16. Two of our friends were members and upgraded all of us to the member package for the trip. We all had a fabulous time. Hugo & Angel gave us perfect service while in the member lounge area. Gio was beyond friendly and treated us so well! Always checking up on us and informing us of activities for the day. Truly is an exceptional employee! Jenny, Cande, & Mildred made sure all of us were happy the whole time as well and made sure we didn’t miss our reservations and things we needed for arrival/departure. I will be recommending this place to many friends because of all these wonderful employees. All spoke Spanish/ English well. Made us feel so comfortable. Only negative feedback is I did slip in my hotel room due to a wet floor on marble tile. My wrist was hurting so I went to the clinic onsite for a wrist brace. I knew it wasn’t broken just sprained. I was really given a shakedown in the clinic and they were not consistent with a price. They instantly wanted to charge me $120 just for walking in but didn’t tell me they considered it a consultation just for observing it. Then tried to charge me $70 to wrap a wrist when I needed a brace. They told me the brace was going to be $25 but when it came time to pay said it was actually $52. They were still trying to charge me $70 to wrap it until I pointed it out. I do not know if they are associated with the resort or contracted out but their rates should be provided before performing anything. They need to be monitored more and allow people to have the option of just buying a medical supply off of them.

We Traveled March 2 - 9th We went to this lovely resort with our best Friends for their son's wedding The resort is the perfect size, very clean. Rooms are nice a spacious everything worked and the maid service was super. Food was AWSOME. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. I disagree with one posting about medical help. Obviously these people had some grumpy issues...I unfortunately developed an ear and throat infection and let me tell you the Doctor on sight was super super GOOD...He took the time to examine me and prescribe medication, and insisted I come twice a day for ear drops. He took very good care of me to ensure my infection was going away and it was safe for me to travel back. I did a follow up here at home and my doctor confirmed the correct medication and procedure was done well in Mexico...So those people who complained are very poor patients. Back to the Resort. The Wedding planers and organizer there at the resort did a wonderful job, Food ceremony and everything was excellent All the Al -A-Carts where good, we did them all Entertainment staff was so good and friendly. Hello to Jonathan who always remembered my name and said hello Couple of downfalls that may need improvement is the shows in the evening, very boring Maybe add a casino or something for more things to do in the evening Beach needs improvement. If you are looking for white Caribbean sand you will not find it here. And they need to do more about those pesky vendors always coming by to bug you...

My wife and I recently stayed at Iberostar Punta Mita. She had an accident tripping herself on the golf course. It was a nightmare trying to get help or wheelchair. We had to beg for help. Everything is ok...but don't fall...you won't get any help.

My husband and two children went to Iberostar this past week. We had a wonderful time. Food is excellent, size of the resort is perfect, it’s low key! Kids club was fantastic for the kids. We loved the buffets, breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Thank you to Xochitl for all of her kindness and help! Make sure to book this resort for your next vacation.

I just returned from 6 nights at Iberostar Playa Mita - we were there in mid-March for a spring break trip with 2 families, including 5 kids ages 6-13. For context, each adult couple had been to 1-2 all inclusive resorts many years ago, but never with kids. We have all been to several places in Mexico but were first timers to this area - we came ONLY based on flight prices to PVR being much, much cheaper than Cancun and I'm so glad we did! The resort was VERY empty when we got there (on a Thursday), but by Saturday (which would be the first day of a typical spring break for that week) was pretty busy. I heard that it was about 60% full by the end of the time we were there. We had an absolutely amazing trip, and I loved this resort! Here are some specific things that may help others to know what to expect: Overall: -This is a very manageably sized resort for younger kids. Our kids could figure out how to get everywhere. -It is a LONG/slow drive from the airport (took about an hour+ to get there, an hour to get back - it's not just freeway driving so it feels longer than the drive to Playa del Carmen from Cancun) -The kids club (Star Camp) was truly amazing - they had so many activities, especially for the 6 and 7 year old who just fell in love with the place. I had to drag my kid out of there. They took them to lunch, swimming (pool, never beach), had optional night time activities you could do for an extra fee a few of the nights we were there ($20 for care from 7-10:30pm including taking them to a show in the theater, and making their own pizzas). There were snacks in there. Our older kids went in a few times too, there are 4 playstations in there as well. It was a nice place to get out of the sun for a bit too. My 13 year old even went in for awhile (at the request of her 6 year old cousin) and had a good time. I think their stated hours were 10am - 4pm but it seemed like they were open longer than that. -So many activities for kids/teens in general - ping pong, pool, tennis, you can rent all types of sports balls to use in the pool/beach. -Staff was so helpful - and really everyone. I did hear that they are still short staffed which surprises me because I felt like there were tons of people around at all times and we never had to wait for service anywhere. We had service on the beach, at the pool (certainly would be faster if you just walked to the bar but there are servers), and at all buffets whenever we wanted anything. We did tip (in US dollars) for everything but it didn't seem like it was expected/required - however much appreciated, these folks work LONG hours and work really hard. Rooms: -We stayed in a family room which was perfect for our group - 2 adults in the king room, 3 kids in the 2 bed room (with one on the sofa bed - the beds are full sized (not queens) and it would be tight for 2 larger kids/adults to share). Both rooms had only showers, no tubs. -We were on the ground floor in building 2 which was great - I was nervous it'd be loud with people walking by at night, but we only noticed that a few times. We were a close walk to everywhere. -Some outlets in our rooms did not work. There were definitely a few issues with items in the rooms (fridge didn't work in one room) but it wasn't never a big enough deal for us to complain about it. Overall rooms are comfortable, beds are nice, but some of the outlets/fridge/items in bathroom needed to be refreshed. We did bring a power strip and some external chargers and were very glad about that. -Rooms include shampoo/conditioner/body wash/lotion/hand soap in dispensers on the wall, sometimes they were broken and I'd imagine they would quickly fix if necessary. -There is a sofa bed in each room that you can have them make into a bed - our 7 year old slept on it fine but for an adult it isn't that comfortable. Beach/Pools: -The beach is a HUGE, huge huge selling point of this resort - it is not at all busy, there are a few very respectful and polite vendors but not a ton, you can walk for almost exactly a mile north of the beach without encountering too many rocks/obstructions. -If you do care about your position/getting an umbrella, I think getting set up by about 11am would be a good idea. -When we were there, it was always red flag in the morning but would switch to yellow around 10am. My kids all swam in the ocean and the older 2 (11 and 13) LOVED boogie boarding. -Rent boogie boards from beach vendors vs resort - much cheaper. -The waves are amazing - it is a beautiful beach but was not calm enough to casually swim, you need to be paying attention and enjoy getting thrown around a bit. -As mentioned, at the highest we experienced the resort at 60% capacity. I never ever saw ANYONE at the pool prior to 8:30am - you had your pick of chairs anywhere. -Know that this is definitely not a quiet resort - you will experience children and teens and you really can't avoid them if you are near the pool. Maybe the lower pool would be your best bet to be away from kids, but there is not an adult only pool. -There is a kiddie pool with slides that my kids loved, and you can get chairs between the main pool/kid pool to be near both. -We brought cheap floaties and dive toys and those were a huge hit (with everyone - they became communal use which was fine!) -Towels available between 9am - 6pm and they do keep track of how many you are using/returning. You can get fresh ones at any point during that time very easily. Food/Drink: -I'm certain the drinks are not at full strength, and for that I am immensely grateful. No one needs to see what would happen to some of these huge groups if drinks were super strong... yikes. I stuck with margaritas, wine, and beer and am not a huge drinker so I was glad to never feel hungover. I'm also not really picky about drinks so this was fine for me - if you are, this might not be the place for you. -We ate at all of the specialty restaurants and had better luck using the app for reservations vs the concierge. When things were available seemed to change by the hour, so just keep checking and you'll probably get in. Our group LOVED the Japanese place (despite some very skeptical children - they were entertained into enjoying it!!), and the Mexican. My kids enjoyed the steakhouse, but it's not great steak (although the blooming onion and the bread were awesome!). Husband and I went to the French restaurant but that was my least favorite and I wouldn't go back. -Buffets were great but sometimes confusing - a few more labels would go a long way. We were early to eat always, and getting fresh food was easy because we were there RIGHT when buffets opened. Each buffet had some things you could get freshly prepared (eggs, tacos) and I loved the variety. It took a few days to find the things that were best at the buffet - at lunch they had some rotating specials (burritos, empanadas, paella, arepas) that were excellent. We only did dinner buffet twice but it had a lot to choose from. Breakfast was lovely - lots of fresh fruit, pastries, chilaquiles and egg dishes and servers came around constantly to refill coffee. -Snacks around the pool were great for kids - burgers, fries, and some salads. Ice cream machine worked 70% of the time and was used often. Lots of frozen drinks for the kids constantly. -There are a few dead zones where it's tough to get food - 11-12, and 4-6, so plan ahead for that. -Star Cafe (near front desk) coffee shop is open 24 hours and has some limited food (premade sandwiches, pastries) -Tacos at the beach bar are available from about 12-3pm and are excellent! Entertainment: -Theater shows were not my scene.... the younger kids did enjoy the kid-themed one, and my 13 year old loved the kahoot/trivia -The band/singers around the pool and in lobby bar were mostly great! -There was a mariachi band one night and they were excellent -We missed the sunset circus show because of a dinner reservation but it looked amazing from videos I saw - try to prioritize that one if you can (it's on the deck overlooking the ocean by the Sunset bar) -Such hardworking entertainment staff - they were doing things ALL day long and really worked hard to make sure people knew what was going on.

Thank you Iberostar Playa Mita!! We had an excellent stay. Everyone was friendly and very attentive. The food was top notch from the buffet to the ala cart restaurants. Our favorite restaurants were the Japanese and Mexican! Plus the fish tacos at beach. We had a breath taking ocean view room - plus a very comfy bed. We stayed 10 days and there was plenty to do thanks to the entertainment / sports team. Fiesta Mexicana was so much fun with all the “antojitos”. As well as the mariachi night at the lobby bar. I want to give shouts to Yésica our server at the lobby bar, Kevin our poolside server and Jesus our bartender at the sunset bar because they made our stay extra special with their hospitality. Overall an excellent experience for us. We can’t wait to return!

It's a nice place we had a bad experience with our room it had a sewer smell in the bathroom so I asked for another room. the only reason I'm giving this hotel 5 stars is because of the employees Luz from housekeeping, Xochitl, Gilberto at reception super nice and helpful! Janet, Eugenio and Edgar from the buffet super servers :) Nick was our Concierge in our opinion he was the BEST! always attentive and going above and beyond to make our stay pleasant this definitely made a HUGE difference! On our last day he was off and oh boy! how we missed him :( so for all you did THANK YOU VERY MUCH NICK!

Our family of 6 stayed at this Iberostar and it was awful. First, there was jackhammer noise above our hotel room from 10:30am - 5pm daily. Second, the hotel rooms were dated and not spotless. Third, the food was average. The steak house food was terrible. The Pacific Express gourmet restaurant was mediocre. The entertainment was cheesy. We complained to the hotel management about the noise and lack of cleanliness in the rooms and they were no help and did not even offer different rooms or spa treatments or a credit. There was no food in the mini fridge in the hotel room. We will never book an Iberostar resort again.

Good resort, well appointed, many activities to chose from. Good food, prompt and pleasant service in restaurants, bars or the beach. The sunsets over the ocean were the highlights of the day. The beach is clean and quiet.
