The St Regis Punta Mita had the best service! Their staff is amazing, all of them. Kudos to management for being able to keep such a high standard during a difficult covid period. Grounds were lovely and well maintained. Room spacious and well thought off with great amenities. Very comfortable. However they could use now a remodel/facelift. Spa was excellent, the facility is wonderful and our massages were heavenly. Breakfast was excellent. Food at the pool not great. Our best meal was dinner at their high end restaurant. Do not miss it.
If you are planning on travelling to Punta Mita for a relaxing, private getaway experience, this is the place to be! The property is gorgeous and the accommodation was comfortable (especially the bed and definitely loved the outdoor shower). We also loved the fresh, delicious food and refreshing cocktails and mocktails! There are many options that provide a beautiful beach and view of the sunset but what made our stay at St. Regis so special and unforgettable was the incredible staff! Everyone from the reservation desk and concierge to the housekeeping who prepared our room each evening was so attentive and played a part in making our experience as accommodating and as welcoming as possible. Upon our return home, we could not stop talking about the staff at St. Regis Punta Mita. Special shout outs to: Our butlers Alvarro and Sacbe' The housekeepers- We didn't catch your names but thank you for your attention to detail and your creative decorations you provided to make our room extra special! The Arecas pool-side staff including Antonio, Gumero, Victor, Daniel, Ivan and Jesus. The staff at the Sea Breeze including Juan, Karina, Frida, Vanessa, Pablo, Felipe, Ismael and of course my favorite taco lady, Senora Elya! The staff who put on the amazing beach BBQ for our 10 year anniversary: Chef Fernando and our waiter, Alberto We thank Grecia, Beatriz and Salvador for ensuring our arrival was stress-free. and a special shout-out to Gabriela in reservations for assisting us with our monetary needs during our stay as well! Mucho gracias St. Regis and we definitely hope to return in the future!…
We are currently here on Vacation. We absolutely love it. The food- outstanding. The service- impeccable The resort- dated but very well maintained. The beach-rocky The pools- refreshing but need a facelift The beach loungers & umbrellas- plentiful The Butler service- unmatched! Oswaldo was the best. He was amazing, attentive, funny, personable and always helpful The staff- out of this world! Everyone called us by name, had a smile, were welcoming, helpful, happy and just treated us like family. We have stayed at the Four Seasons- St Regis is by far better. We ate off site for dinners. Here are our recommendations: Casa de Traditional- the best authentic Mexican. You won’t forget it and will want to go back. Lobster Paradise- ask for Caesar! So friendly and helpful. Minas- it was ok La Pescadoras- it was good. Breakfast at Sea Breeze- amazing Lunch at Mita Mary- the best ceviche! We will be returning in Jan/ Feb to watch the whales.…
This has traditionally been our favorite getaway to Mexico spot. We first wen there about 14 years ago and now have been there 12 times and we will be back again. We were concerned about the staffing and service with reductions that have happened (everywhere but probably here too). We did feel like the beach and pool service was definitely not on par with what it has always been (pre-covid) but all things considered, it will still on par with what you probably would expect. The staff have always been warm and friendly and we love the various restaurants as it makes it feel like your eating at different resorts/locations with their variance. Caroline is worth the money and enjoying a very fancy dinner during your stay. Mita Mary location can’t be beat. Eating fish tacos in the sand with the ocean in the background. The beach is nice but the water has the barrier reef so you can’t really do much in the water unless you get out pas the reef which is pretty far out there. (You can paddle board, but if your big like me you’ll hit the reef if you fall over). I think the points redemption (if your using points) is too high much like most of the high end bonvoy properties now that there is no points cap… so for us, it will be an off-season destination going forward. We have always had 2 rooms when we stay, 1 for the kids and 1 for us, and generally use points for 1 of the rooms.…
We just returned from a wonderful 5 night visit at this resort. I can't say enough about the beautiful grounds, pools, rooms and employees. We have 1 bedroom suite which is a very large room with top of the line linens, towels and excellent service from the butler staff as well as housekeeping and turndown staff. We enjoyed breakfast every morning with Karina G. at the Seabreeze restaurant. Karina always greeted us with a smile and remembered our names as well as beverages etc. that we had requested on prior mornings. Although we encountered many wonderful staff members everyday and all of them were kind and helpful, a big shout out from my husband and I to Pablo Pena who came by with snacks everyday at the beach. We have been to a lot of resorts, several in Mexico and we have never met a friendlier, more positive employee. Pablo helped us with local information on the area and always remembered that I loved the guava popsicle. You can tell instantly that he loves his job and really cares about the guest experience. We looked forward to seeing him everyday. This property is meticulously maintained by a gardening staff that works all day on the grounds and it shows. The landscaping and variety of beautiful plants is stunning. We can't wait to visit again!…
An hidden place with wonderful service, view and food where you would stay for ever. Very different from any other place in Puerto Vallarta. From the moment you get in to the moment your leave people are trying to please you.. Not easy to get in but great to go
If going to Punta Mita, the St. Regis is the place to stay, without question. We have stayed at other "5 Star" resorts in Punta Mita, but we would only return to the St. Regis. A terrific resort with AMAZING service, excellent and plentiful food and drinks, beautiful grounds, and a stunning beach. From the pool, to housekeeping, to the wait staff, to the St. Regis' "butler", the service at the St. Regis went above and beyond. On several occasions, and without asking, the St. Regis staff "surprised us" with off menu items, complimentary extras, and great memories. The staff enjoy working for the St. Regis and it shows. Most of the staff we spoke with have worked there for years. We have stayed at numerous resorts that also have great service, but the service at the St. Regis is some of the best. The food and drinks were great, not overpriced for a resort, with good sized portions and pours. We usually shared entrees and starters, and that was plenty. Unlike other resorts, we did not feel like we were being gouged or overcharged. The hotel grounds are stunning and the beach and surrounding area are beautiful. Plenty of great swimming, golf, snorkeling, surfing, walking, and biking around the hotel.…
My list of high end resorts I've stayed at include numerous 4 Seasons, Mandarin Orientals, St Regis, and Ritz Carltons across the US and some in Europe. I'm ambassador level and Platinum for Life with Marriott. I went on trip with my wife and small kids for 6 days. St Regis Punta Mita is THE BEST HOTEL I've ever stayed at and I can't wait to return. From the moment of check-in where you are served welcome cocktails at the highest point on the property, it's made very obvious to you that you are at a special place. The scenery is beautiful, landscaping is meticulous, and the ratio of staff to guests is very high. Every employee from the GM to the lady making tortillas all take great pride in working at the hotel and making others have the time of their lives. I'd estimate employees averaged 7 years of tenure with the company. The hotel is rather spread out and the rooms are all in casitas. Our suite was very luxurious and we especially enjoyed the outdoor shower so much that you never showered inside. While on property, you often feel like you have the resort almost to yourself despite the resort operating at high occupancy. I heard a lady ask "where is the central bar that everybody goes to"…..well, there's not. You'll never go anywhere including peak time dinner and see more than 20 people. The resort experience can be whatever you make it - they have a separate beach and pool area for adults only, most appropriate for people wanting to spend time alone. They also had another pool that is more social and where kids are welcome. Nothing is every close to busy or crowded. While you are pool or beachside, the waiters are attentive but not burdensome. Every hour or so they also bring by nice touches like popsicles, iced coffee, popcorn, etc. There are complementary things like kayaks, bikes, etc. The beach was left more natural on the quiet side. On the more social family side, all rocks were removed and the beach is heavily groomed. The water is calm with no currents and is totally safe for very small children. Dining options are also broad - we had a 10 course chef tasting menu at Carolina, but we also often ate catch of the day, sushi, and quesadillas poolside or at Mita Mary, the most casual option. He also ate the wonderful breakfast that's provided to Platinums for free. It's very similar to other JW's or St Regis's (which is a wonderful thing). Finally, I was highly satisfied with the price and value and ended up spending half of what I anticipated on incidentals, despite freely ordering whatever I wanted whenever I had a whim. I believe most people would consider the hotel expensive or very expensive from $800 per night (when slow) to $2000 per night peak season. The unmatched service, remote location, beauty, landscaping, etc make it worth it. Drinks and Food: Beers were $6 drinks $17 or so, cheaper than most nice big city hotels. The same goes for the food. I did not feel gouged even though I was on a somewhat remote resort. My wife also enjoyed the spa. We also used a nanny service primarily as a helping hand. It worked out very well. Our kids also sometimes did on the beach activities like painting ceramics or making bead necklaces with the kids club. Negatives: Nothing bothered me, ever, at any time- they're undergoing massive renovations and the central pool and its associated restaurant are closed. Regardless, I heard almost no noise and wasn't bothered by the pool closure. It kills me to read the few negative reviews about the hotel, because the hotel is so amazing. I also read the rooms are dated - well, they did not bother me and they're actively being refreshed. The gym was sufficient, but will likely be updated with the rest of the hotel. The only people who may not like the hotel are people who want a big city hotel with a bunch of people and a party atmosphere. Summary: I could go on and on forever, but it's really an amazing property. I'm so glad that I went and I can't wait to go back. If you're considering visiting the property, don't delay or be discouraged by the construction or the high cost. This hotel is perfect for a special vacation, a honeymoon, a guys or girls weekend, families, and couples. My only regret is that the property was so amazing, we never even left the property to go walk the golf course, check out 4 seasons for a drink, and we didn't go into town. Thanks so much St Regis Staff for making the stay so unbeatable for my family and me. I also appreciate all the special touches and recognition for my hotel status. It's hard for me to call out the performance of individual staff members because I was blown away by so many people.…
Just stayed with my family at the St Regis. Can’t say too many good things about this place. The service and food were excellent. The rooms fit the relaxed vibe of the property. They could use some updating but are comfortable and well laid out. Service - this is where the St Regis really sets itself apart from other resorts. Every employee that I encountered seemed to genuinely love their job and wanted to see the guests happy. The level of service received from each and everyone at the St Regis is just unheard of these days. The only downside for the resort at the moment is the construction that is going on. The drone from the jackhammering of the area they are re-doing was a bit much. It didn’t ruin the vacation for me. However, I’m sure there are folks that would have a hard time getting past the noise. We will definitely be going back but it will be after the construction.…
This is disappointing to write. I am editing a pretty stellar review because the hotel has not made good on its promise to refund a night’s worth of Marriott Bonvoy points as represented by the Guest Experience Manager. We had some issues that we felt were adequately addressed by the offer to refund some of our points, but it’s been more than two months and, despite half a dozen emails, the points have not been refunded. The lack of response from Marriott has left a pretty sour taste in our mouths and turned a good experience to bad. A little background. Marriott Platinum. Cost 370,000 points for 5 nights. Was able to use Suite Night Awards to upgrade to an ocean view one-bedroom suite. We came from a few days in San Pancho, which we loved, and the taxi cost 800 pesos ($40 USD). Our second-floor room, 3203, overlooked the adult pool and had an amazing, expansive balcony from which we watch the sunset every night. The room itself was huge (about 1100 square feet) and had a very traditional feel. Living room, bedroom (ladies, the pillow- top mattress was 1000 degrees) bathroom and the best part, a huge outdoor shower. Showered by candlelight every night. Loved that. If you’re looking for modern, this is not the aesthetic for you. The property is lovely with dozens of landscapers taking care of it every day. We’re beach people, so spent every day at the beach near the Sea Breeze restaurant where breakfast is served. Note, the beach is visually stunning but very rocky. You can go in for a dip, but tricky to swim. The property is very walkable, although there are golf carts at your disposal to take you where you want to go. Overall, with only 120 rooms, a very upscale experience. If you’re looking for a party scene, this isn’t it. We ate at Sea Breeze for dinner on our first night, which was decent, but ate off property the other nights. We highly recommend Casa Teresa and Sufi for dinner. Keep in mind, if you don’t have a car, it’s $179 pesos + tip to town ($10) and back. If the hotel arranges transportation round-trip, it’s $179 + $340 ($25), so caught our own taxi back to save a few bucks. I am sure most people staying at the St Regis aren’t worrying about cab fare, but you will see once you’re there that between tips and cabs, you will be giving pesos away like Monopoly money. Why did I only give it 2 stars? The hotel has serious communications issues. We were told three different times for breakfast by three different people; they told us only one person is allowed in the gym at a time, 6 people are allowed; we were told there’s no surfing lessons, there are; I asked for reservation that was confirmed, but they never made it and I had to ask for menus and an activity schedule, which at this level, should be an automatic; and they charged us three different prices for an off-menu item we ordered every day. The hotel experience manager, Serena, made it up to us in a number of ways which was very much appreciated. Despite the mishaps, I gave what I think was a generous tip which I am now regretting.…
