We had a wonderful ocean suite with a plunge pool overlooking the ocean and a hot tub in the back courtyard. We enjoyed the food, the grounds and the exceptionally friendly staff. We would highly recommend the W if you want to stay away from the craziness of PV.
My (now fiancé) and I visited the W PUNTA MITA in April of 2019 before the pandemic hit. We absolutely fell in love with the beauty of the hotel, the amazing staff, the food, drinks and everything in between. We always joke and say that we were Mexican in another lifetime since we love Mexico- especially the west coast, so much. For the couple years after our visit, we joked that we had such an amazing experience, and it was so beautiful- that we would wind up getting married there one day. Fast forward to July 2021, when we got engaged- and decided to make our dream our reality.... we instantly knew we wanted to tie the knot in paradise and proceeded to book our wedding for Nov 2022 ! Areli was such a big help in going through the initial phase with us, booking, selecting rooms and a date etc- she made everything so easy and it was like working with a friend- next we were passed on to Jessica, our wedding coordinator. A match made in wedding planning heaven! Jess is so amazing, she has already grown into more than just our coordinator, she is a friend- and we are still 6 months out from our wedding date! She is constantly answering all of our questions , late at night - thru whats app etc, she is so excellent at our job and making us feel like we are in great hands. In feb 2022, we paid another visit to our dream space and we got to meet the staff first hand. Areli and Jess are even more amazing in person. They made us feel like family and so special, and we are so excited to choose this amazing place to celebrate our love... While Jess continues to help us figure out our food, decor, welcome dinner and every detail in between - our love for her continues to grow! I will be sure to write a review after our Nov wedding to update on the turnout! We love the W Punta Mita and cant wait to make memories for a lifetime! Kristina & Steve…
Such a great place for our family vacation! The beach is great, cabanas are awesome and the kids love the pool. Restaurants are very good, grounds are beautiful and rooms are very unique and cool with the nano style doors. My only CONCERN is that you check your bill daily. We were charged $100 per kid for salads one evening. Didn't catch it until we checked out and had already paid. Make sure they aren't doing construction on a room next to you. You won't sleep :(
Everyone always starts out their reviews like..."we have traveled to many marriott properties and this hotel....." Ok. I will break the norm and just say you will enjoy this hotel and want to come back. My wife and I needed a break from the daily stress of raising kids, running a business and doing common core math. We decided to get away for 5 days without the kids. We have been to Punta Mita and Puerto Vallarta many times and never stayed at the W but wanted to really check out this location. Location was great. We live in Los Angeles so the flight is a quick 3 hrs. We arraigned transportation with the hotel and it was easy. We stayed in a lake view king room. It was great. Nice to have the outside space with a nice view of the man made lake. Room was just the right size. They have a weird sofa that was useless. I wish they had something that was more useful. The sofa was like something from an inner city bus bench and used to defer people from sitting or even laying on it. Restaurants were great. No need to venture off property. Prices are great and worth it. Anyone that complains about prices on a vacation can go to DisneyWorld and stay in the States. Pool was nice. Yes they have a DJ some days that goes with the W vibe. I would have prefer just some relaxing music and didn't need the pulsing beats in the middle of the day. Adult pool was nice and overlooked the ocean. It was fun to just hang out and look at the waves. Pool service was great. Guys did a good job. Spa was great. We used the gym and I got a massage and a facial. Perfect place and we will be back. Not with the kids. As this place didn't seem to be a place I would take my boys. They would have been bored and probably gotten looks from people jumping in the pool. Take the family to the St Regis if you want to take the kids to Punta Mita.…
We booked a 5 night W unlimited package for my wife's birthday. What made this vacation memorable was not only the food and venue, but the staff! They made a point to remember our name, which made our stay extra personable. At our spa day, Lupita and Carmen took care of us. We first went here for a mani/ pedi, but returned the next day for the blue agave couples massage. During our Wet pool visits, Junior made sure we were taken care of. Even when I was walking by the pool, Junior made it a point to greet me and asked me how my day was. Even my wife doesn't do that lol. Jk. Another person I would like to call out is Miguel from the spice market restaurant. Miguel noticed my palette for tequila and immediately recommended me something that blew my mind. Overall, every single staff member has been pleasant and personable. Throughout my entire stay, I actually felt like a local with everyone's hospitality. I know I am forgetting many names, but everyone on this resort made me feel welcomed. Mucho gracias to the amazing staff making a difference!…
We were in for a wedding. The food was fantastic for the event, room service was extremely reasonable and tasty. We had one really unfortunate lobby bar drink (way too much mescal in the cocktail--like licking rubber) and a stressed out bartender. Getting in and out of the property is a bit of an event, and the W-contracted driver was definitely the least favorite of all our cab rides (austere, lacked directional knowledge, had my phone for WAY too long and our destination info was already relayed at front desk). there's a great surf spot, yet not ready information at the hotel about board rental and surf break descriptions. Consider this is the 2nd item you describe above, and how little you market it on property. We stayed in the village as well and honestly enjoyed the variety of restaurants and shops a little more. This property would be great to just hide from the world, but we weren't craving a clinical separation from the culture. Please turn the music in the lobby bar to less UNTZ UNTZ club levels. It's nice to hear the ocean, too.…
I loved this property from the moment we walked in! Stunning location on the beach, the property feels small & intimate compared to many of the mega resorts in Punta MIta. We loved the ceviche truck, the onsite restaurant, and just hanging by the pool. The beach area is quite nice too, which is unusual for the area. The rooms are a bit funky for 2 friends sharing as there isn't a lot of private space (bathrooms are basically open plan), but we made it work and had a great stay. Highly recommend this place!
First time visiting the W Punta Mita and things got off to a rocky start. After a Jurassic Park like golf cart ride to the front desk I noticed I had left my phone in the taxi. Once we realized that there was no way to contact the driver the staff, led by Aide, made it their top priority to locate and return it. She was able to track down the driver and convince him to return to the hotel with my phone. Having only CAD (there's not ATM or money exchange at the hotel) Aide took my CAD, drove into town and exchanged it to pesos to pay the driver. Managed to do this all on the same day. Unbelievable! Other shout outs go to Luis who was also instrumental in locating my phone and our fantastic waiter Julio. Aside from that, the food was the best I'd had in Mexico and the spectacular white sand beach was perfect for long walks. Five Stars!…
To be totally honest, I was a little nervous to book here - and I was heavily debating paying the extra amount to stay at the Four Seasons or the St. Regis...and now I feel ridiculous for ever having doubted myself. I was nervous because of previous reviews that stated it was a party hotel, super loud, etc. My husband and I got married in Nayarit and wanted to take a mini-moon before flying home, but we wanted to relax, definitely did not want a party atmosphere. Sure, could you party here if you wanted to - definitely. Can you totally relax and have peace and quiet on the beach or at the adults-only pool - absolutely. The grounds are breathtaking. The beach is huge, white powder sand. The restaurants (3) were outstanding, we did not have a bad meal. And the service, the service is impeccable - I've truly never seen better. Our rooms were bright, spacious and comfortable - my god, the bed, so so comfortable. We were only supposed to stay 2 nights, but after the first night, I changed our flights and booked us another night because I didn't want to come home. And then when we did have to come home...the first thing I did was book another trip back in November. Lastly, I have to give a shout out to the best masseuse at the Away Spa. Her name is Monserrat. I saw her 2 days in a row for 80-minute treatments. I have never seen anything like this spa, and I have been to some incredible spas (Montage and Ritz Carlton in Kapalua) and this blows all of them out of the water. The plunge pool situation they have going on there - heaven. Definitely book with Monserrat. Highly highly recommend W Punta de Mita!…
First time here at the W Hotel at Punta Mita and I must say this was such a great trip! The scenic views, delicious food, but most important was the service! Super friendly and helpful. They definitely set the bar for service! The last night we had the Surf and Turf dinner on the beach and saw the sun set. Special thank you for all the staff members and Micheal for making our last dinner a memorable one!
