Incredible customer service! We did a private dinner on the beach, which I highly recommend. Hector and Rocky, who are arranged the dinner, were the most accommodating people I’ve meet. Staying anywhere else is a mistake.
We love Punta de Mita and this was my 3rd stay here and my wife's 2nd. On each visit, the design of the hotel really impresses. There are some new-to-me things, including the Wet Too pool area. This is a great addition as it keeps children at the other pool. It is also a relative bargain to book the VIP cabanas. The spa area is great, especially the pools in there. They had a partnership with spin company Siclo during my stay. This was fantastic! Food is great at this hotel. Chevycheria is amazing and Spice Market is always worth a stop. We had good room service too. The ocean is a bit rough but is great for surfing and other water activities. There were some downsides. Service at Wet Too was terrible each day of our stay. There aren't enough waiters and it was too difficult too often to get someone to come to us. Our stay wasn't perfect though. The staff does not take seriously enough the need to wear masks. Often I would see staff only put their mask on, or put it into the correct position, when you approached them. Staff members in the kitchen (who you can see) often were incorrectly wearing masks below their mouth. If I could inject my opinion, you got the impression that many of the staff immediately take their masks off for good as soon as they step foot outside of the property. This made us feel less comfortable and we kept our distance even more than normal as a result. Overall this is a good place in Punta de Mita but I don't plan to return until the Covid-19 pandemic is finished.…
We stayed there over new years at the highest rate for 3 rooms and 3 nights. We didn t had hot water in the rooms for three days, after leaving, i was credited by Marriott Bonvoy 1 night among the 9 we paid for almost 10,000 usd bill. This is just unacceptable and unbelievable.
My partner and I decided to celebrate our anniversary and New Year’s here. I was guaranteed via email before arrival via Hector that the COVID protocols were being strictly enforced and followed. It was not true at all. At check in there were several guests without masks in the lobby and the staff never asked them put on a mask...they didn’t even try. I figured it was a fluke. At the NYE party hardly any guest was wearing a mask at the food stations. I asked Hector and my server and the chef and a manager about it and it was never addressed. They did nothing about it at all. I sent emails and Tweets to Marriott and to W Hotels and the hotel itself and it never changed. I got the attached email from Yolani implying they “try” and it’s about guests’ “preferences”. It it’s the LAW in Nayarit and they should not allow it in the public spaces, should not allow it for check in and check out and not allow it at hotel events. No mask, no service, period. I also have SEVERAL photos to back up my claims which I sent to Marriott already. If you take COVID seriously or are high risk, I cannot recommend this property at all. That being said, the hotel is fabulous. Pros: -Location -Quiet -Comfy rooms with local flair -Amazing food -Beautiful gardens -Incredible spa -Great vibe -Good service at pools and beach -Great WiFi -Rooms are very open yet very private -You can bring your dog -Secure property -Free parking Cons: Room service gets orders wrong (twice) Housekeeping often occurs very late Stingy with toiletries Lots of lip service and no follow through Loud at night if music is playing (can hear it everywhere) A little dark to get to rooms at night if you have any vision issues Pools can be cold Not enough golf carts to transport guests Gift shop lacks W products (candles, shirts, hats and bags are not here with W branding) Guest dogs without leashes (if that bothers you) COVID dangers - they do not follow protocol consistently I would return here ONLY after COVID has passed. Not again before. The restaurants are INCREDIBLE here. …
This was my second solo trip to the resort and the visit did not disappoint. After going through the new entry requirements due to COVID-19, I was whisked off to check-in. The team graciously upgraded my suite to a top floor ocean view room as a thank you for returning. I felt very touched by the gesture. The room is so beautifully decorated with local charm and the welcome gift of a water bottle, notebook and sunglasses were perfect. The swing overlooking the living area, pool and ocean was so much fun to pass the time away in. You can hear the waves crashing as you sleep and watch the beautiful sunset from the balcony. The patio is so comfy and perfect for a social distance experience. You can dip in the pool or simply enjoy the waves. The only cons are: - The patio doesn’t have outdoor speakers. - The outdoor jacuzzi tub sounds like a good idea but the rain and mosquitoes can be a bit disruptive. Even though the food service was modified the a la cart breakfast menu was plenty given my allergies. The lunch team was accommodating as usual and you can never go wrong with the quesadillas and guacamole. In terms of activities, both pools were so calm in the morning and everyone tried to keep their distance. The last time I left as bubbles and beats was setting up. This time, I insisted on enjoying the full event and made sure to arrive in a Friday. The DJ was spectacular and played much of what you’d expect for the W. He then ended with a memorable set of late 80’s r&b which was a perfect transition from happy hour to dinner. I literally stayed at the pool for the entire event as it was so fun and enjoyable. Overall, this team and property continues to give me reasons to return again and again. I’m so grateful for their hospitality and the safe experience the resort provides. You don’t have to get in an elevator and most of the dining is outdoors. It is the perfect setup for a safe getaway.…
