We had a great time in Bahia de Kino. Third night we had a community potluck fish fry. Every room brought a dish, and Roger provided fresh caught fish. Dave and Roger fried the fish in a wonderful beer batter. There was more food than we could eat. Can't wait till my next visit. Normally a courtyard happy hour around... More

Caluma is one of the best values we have found in Mexico. Not only is the Kino area a very hospitable out of the way place, without the fancy resorts and higher prices of other beach areas in Mexico, Caluma is a great place to relax even more. David and Mary, the American hosts and co-managers, treated us like old... More

If you are looking for a place to just crash and stay at with nothing to offer, this is your place. Pretty cheap price and about a 3 minute walk to the beach. It's more of a studio apartment that has a small bathroom and very small kitchen. Beds are not comfortable but still did the job since most of... More

This is a 1970's bungalow that is family style. It is relaxed and safe. David and Mary are a very nice older couple that are charming. They are great and make you feel at home. It is a budget place to stay, but it is clean and very close to the beach... 2 minute walk at most. The fish restaurant... More

My husband and I stayed at Caluma Bungalows beginning in January till the middle of April, 2008. I found the bungalows on the internet when I did a search for Kino Bay, Mexico. After reading the reviews, it sounded like what we were looking for and decided to spend our winter there. David Hardy, the American manager, and his wife,... More

We found Caluma on the internet and read the reviews in Tripadvisor and decided to give it a try. What a great experience. The website is very honest in it's description of the facilities with no suprises. As our host Dave says "This ain't no Holiday Inn" which is why we so enjoyed our stay. This place seems to attract... More

A friend and I stayed at Caluma Bungalows recently as a result of information posted on this site and others. I agree with other reviewers that the staff are very helpful and the place is clean. The location is very good, being at the end of town near the boat launch and a quick drive to some secluded beaches. I... More

Caluma's rooms are spacious, super-clean, and have hot water and cooking facilities -- a great value at $40 a couple blocks off the busy beach road in Kino. But more than that, the owners make you feel at home, and help you with your travel plans. Definitely a great place to stay for long or short trips and especially to... More

After months of anticipation, planning, making lists and eventually packing, we were ready for our month long trip to Kino Bay, Mexico and Caluma Bungalows in particular. We had viewed the website and were well prepared for the accommodation…the price of $400 US per month was very reasonable. Although we had read some horror stories concerning crossing the border, we... More

My wife Peg and I discovered Kino Bay quite by accident. Lots of first-rate things happen like that, and travel wise this was one of the most exciting "finds" in a long time. But, you know how it is: somebody recommends a place, and you go to great lengths of time and expense to check it out, and wind up... More
