Overall, the hotel is quite pleasant. It has been beautifully restored and is quite comfortable. Álamos seems a little difficult to find your way around, we ended up with a mediocre dinner because we couldn't find a good place. Maybe a little guidance from the hotel would have been helpful.

We are working with Tourism in Alamos to provide more and better maps and guides that will include more dining information. When you return for another stay at our hotel, let us know by email in advance what kind of dining you would like and when, and we will send you a short list of restaurants, with hours of operation and phone numbers. Thank for choosing us for your stay in Alamos and for taking time to write a review.

What's not to like... The location is outstanding, the rooms very comfortable, the courtyard and the shady gardens stunning. Kelley and Janet are the nicest hosts you will ever find. Be sure to enjoy Kelley's coffee, roasted on the premises and check out the breathtaking roof top area.

We had been to Alamos before and stayed at Hacienda de los Santos, a fantastic hotel. This time our travel companions booked us at the Colonial Hotel. AT first we were disappointed. However once we arrived we were very pleased. It is a small (maybe should be called a B&B) hotel with excellent personal service and attention. The restoration was done impeccably. The plantings and general ambiance was excellent. The price is very reasonable. The value is superb. We would stay here again

Loved it!!! The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. We traveled in a group that rented out all the rooms. We had a wonderful time enjoying the outside space, an attended a Pizza and Margarita Dinner on the terrace. Pizza was amazing. The owners are wonderful people/hosts. We will be returning .

The owners are very nice and kind. Kelly shares his coffee grinder for interested parties and sells his fabulous roasted coffee by the kilo. The drinks took forever to get to us and we weren't sure they really knew how to make them, but the venue is just lovely. They no longer serve food. The rooms seem a little musty but are large with many antiques. Within walking distance to town.
