We loved our stay at Casa Werma. In the casita we fell asleep every night to the sound of a crackling fire, which was prepared daily. The grounds are beautiful! I enjoyed taking pictures of the plants. Pine trees, fruit trees and palm trees all in one place! And breakfast was delicious. A great place to stay.

My friend and I stayed in the casita. The whole experience was really lovely. The casita is delightful, quiet, and comfortable. . The breakfasts were superb. Kai and Ryn recommended a great driver whom we hired to show us some of the interesting sites around Lake Patzcuaro. The gardens are really unique; I did drawings and watercolors there. It is also located within walking distance of the main square.

Casa Werma is an incredible property, inside and out. Casa Werma is always spotless and well maintained, and has a dedicated crew of gardeners, housekeepers and fantastic managers. The American manager/ directors create and truly care for a positive experience for all guests. The huge square block property is a walled compound that includes extensive, well kept gardens, a main colonial house and modern buildings. Casa Werma must be one of the top properties in all of magical Patzcuaro. The gardens and outside spaces are gorgeous and lush, filled with fruit trees, colorful flowers and tropical plants. Paths wind through the gardens for peaceful meditation. A large patio adjacent to the colonial house has tables for eating and reading and a large fire pit. Inside the main house are 2-3 wonderful, comfortable bedrooms with modern, beautifully-tiled baths. The king beds are so comfortable with luxury linens and blankets. Fireplaces keep the highland chill out of the main house. A large living room is perfect for reading and gatherings. The solarium lies off the living room and is an inviting light-filled space for peaceful reflection, meditation and yoga. Daily breakfasts include fresh fruits, yogurt and granola along with divine hot dishes, such as hues rancheros. It is served with lots of delicious coffee and fresh squeezed OJ. The dining area, set with artisan pottery and tablecloths, also has a cozy fireplace. Across the patio is a separate modern house or cabin with its own bath and kitchenette, we did not stay there, but it seemed exceptional and apparently could be set up to sleep anywhere from 2 to 8, I believe, great for families and 'girls week.' Casa Werma has a fantastic location in the center of town that we fully appreciated. We could SAFELY walk everywhere in Patzcuaro which is a special "Pueblo Magico", with cobblestone streets and Spanish Colonial buildings. Overall, we would rate Casa Werma at the highest level for beauty, peacefulness and cleanliness.

Casa Werma is a beautiful adobe residence on a single (tiled) floor. Our room was comfortable, the shower worked perfectly, the breakfasts were excellent, the garden was large and lush, and the patio (with fireplace) was simply irresistible. When not serving as a B&B, Casa Werma is a retreat center, and the sense of calm we felt was totally consistent with that purpose. Finally, the two managers spoke English as a first language but were completely fluent in Spanish as well as knowledgable about Pátzquaro and its many nearby attractions. This was our _second_ stay at Casa Werma and was as pleasant as the first (about three years ago). However, we scheduled _this_ vacation to include Día de Muertos. Pátzquaro's celebrations of Muertos are extraordinary in many ways. A few of the most beautifully decorated cemeteries are in nearby towns, but there's much to see within easy walking distance of Casa Werma, most notably the central plaza. For more about Muertos, including photos, see: https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g150800-d8820194-r611296999-Day_of_the_dead-Mexico_City_Central_Mexico_and_Gulf_Coast.html

My partner and I stayed in the casita there, and on the mornings we didn’t partake of one of Kai’s AMAZING breakfasts, sitting out front with our coffee and fresh rolls while gazing into the eden like garden, an awesome sense of peace filled my heart with its plain and simple beauty. I didn’t want to leave. I would stay nowhere else in all of Pátzcuaro. Seriously. That was our fourth stay.
