We stopped here on Fathers' Day after visiting the centre of Huamantla. It started to rain so we started to make our way back to Puebla. On the way back, we stopped here to have something to eat. The ex-hacidena is beautiful, inside and out. They have a stable with horses and donkeys. I'm not sure if you can ride...

The owners have done a wonderful job converting this Hacienda into a comfortable hotel. The atmosphere created by the whole staff is happy, welcoming and friendly without being at all pretentious. The food and service in the restaurant was great. The weekend breakfast buffet was especially good. Live music, regional specialties, and friendly service. How are her bedroom – one...

This is a very old Hacienda conditioned as a hotel, that is known by the locals for a good place to rest and relax on the weekends. Due to its location, they have tried to turn it into a business location. It is still a long way from being best in class for business (reservation system is manual, rooms with...

Hacienda Soltepec is in a bit of an odd location, right on a busy road through an ordinary, workaday town. We made a brief visit to Huamantla and found it interesting as an example of a typical Mexican town, but it didn't have much to hold us there for long. The puppet museum was closed for renovations. The buildings and...

I visited the Hacienda Soltepec out of mere curiosity. I had read about it before and I wanted to see an old hacienda converted in a "modern" hotel. the place really transports you to another time, the facade is really well preserved and it has some kind of quaint look because of the small towers that outflank the main entrance....

I went to "Hacienda Soltepec" 2 months ago (March, 2013) and it was very nice. I stayed in "habitación jardín" (garden room), which has a big, soft, comfortable bed, and a bathtube. With tv and cable, of course. The decoration is simple, but fresh. Service is very good, because ther are NOT expecting for tips at every moment. They help...

If you want to stay in a hacienda and not spend much money, here you go. it's ok and it's not ugly but so many design decisions are weird or wrong and there's just a lack of elegance about the place. The staff is kind and eager to help and you can even buy a lot on the property if...
