Just spent 2 very relaxing weeks at this beautiful Colonial style Inn on Lake Chapala in Ajijic. The family run establishment has that rare blend of great service food and accommodations that is unexpected in todays fast paced environment. Our thanks to owner Michael, his Mother Judy and all the staff. We will be back! Stu & Susie
We recently returned to Ajijic over two decades after our last visit. Happily, the little cobblestone streets of "downtown" Ajijic have not changed. The expansion of the area (both commercial and residential) has all been out on the main drag. One of the best decisions we made on this visit was our choice of hotels: La Neuva Posada. This perfect little hotel is right on Lake Chapala, which lately has been completely full (due to better water management from Mexico City and Guadalajara). And the hotel is just a few short blocks from the best restaurants and shopping in Ajijic! Which means you do NOT need a car! The website says it's about a $40 charge for the 25 minute ride from GDL (airport) to Ajijic. We had a car (and there is ample parking) because Ajijic was only…
our first time in ajijic and we loved our time at la nueva posada. right on the lake. great breakfast and the whole outdoor breakfast area is SO beautiful. friendly staff, clean rooms, family friendly. highly recommend!
La Nueva Posada is a boutique hotel family built and managed! Great garden directly on the lake Restaurant has very good food and service. Many guests, on leaving, are booking their room to return for a longer stay next year! Decorated locally with photos from earlier days in Ajijic this is a charming and wonderful place to be!
La Nueva Posada is located in Ajijic, a short walk to the plaza. There is a restaurant in the hotel that has very good food. It closes at 6 p.m., as does the bar. While this may seem early we spoke with the owner, Judy, and she said it was so the guests will go to the many great restaurants in Ajijic. This makes sense because there are MANY restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel is located on Lake Chapala and has a beautiful garden. After the full breakfast, which is included with your room, we would walk to the lake to observe the water fowl. The staff and guests are very friendly. We were always greeted with a smile. We have already booked a room for next year, when we will stay a month.
