Detailed Reviews
We booked a month at this lovely B&B after initially thinking of a stay in Guadalajara. We decided a smaller place like Ajijic was preferable and that we could take day trips to see the big city. We found Tres Leones on the internet and booked 6 months in advance. We chose the King Garden room which was quite satisfactory. We had it for 3 weeks, then were upgraded to the Mexican Lover's Suite because a returning guest requested the King. We couldn't complain about the bigger and better room with its own private terrace! We enjoyed the nice pool after the first week when Ajijic got some unusually cool, wet weather for the end of January - the water was a bit icy at first. The solar heater (and the sun) got the pool temperature up to a more comfortable level by the end of our second week and then it was fun. Emile's breakfasts were good - a yogurt, fruit & granola buffet followed by eggs to order with bacon/sausages and blueberry pancakes on Sunday. Fresh muffins every day too! A drawback was hearing barking dogs during the night - there were several next door to the B&B. We enjoyed the camaraderie with other guests very much. Emile was very helpful with restaurant and tour information.

Casa 3 Leones is a wonderful, mellow, and magical place to stay in Ajijic. A special shout out to the owner Emile, as he made our stay very relaxing, welcome, and easy-going. Everything in town is a short 10 minute or less walking distance. Emile recommended restaurants, galleries, and it certainly helps that he spoke English. While my Spanish is limited, I can get by but having folks that speak English in Mexico is very helpful. Breakfast cooked to order was delicious, as well as fresh fruit, granola, toast and a variety of marmalade. Don’t hesitate to stay there, it is in a quiet part of town, and the room was fantastic. If you have a chance choose the Lover’s Suite!

We had a fabulous stay here, three nights for our wedding anniversary. We ourselves live in Ajijic and had heard such wonderful things about Casa Tres Leones that we decided to go here for our anniversary. It did not disappoint. Alix and Emile are wonderful hosts. The hot breakfasts served by Emile were all very good but if one prefers toast or granola they are available as well. No restaurant on site but there are many places to eat within a short walk. Our room was beautiful, right on the terrace with a view of Lake Chapala. The hotel has a solar-heated pool with a beautiful garden surrounding it. Wi-Fi was easy to log in to and reliable. We highly recommend Casa Tres Leones.

A most charming and beatiful place, Casa Tres Leones is a small palace by the lake. You can’t beat its cozy, peaceful, scenic atmosphere. The house is filled with exquisite detail in both architectonic, natural and decor detail, it invites you to not leave. The pool is perfect in size and depth, behind it a secretive path among flowers, underneath a lampost. I was amazed at the variety of succulent plants, which I love. The attention from the owners is attentive and warm. The breakfast filling and delicious. We are definetly coming back.

First time to Mexico. Excellent accommodations! Beautiful, quiet, great views and great location to lots of restaurants and shopping. Emile and Alix make sure you are well fed in the morning and are extremely accommodating for any needs. I used this place for a home base while on a motorcycle trip. They allowed me to park the bike in their garage and store some personal effects until I returned. A++++

From start to finish our two week trip to Ajijic and stay at Casa Tres Leones was relaxing. We had opted not to rent a car so our host Emile arranged for a driver to meet us at GDL airport. Emile greeted us when we arrived at 1 a.m. and made sure we were settled in for the evening. We loved waking up to the sound of birds outside our room, the King Garden Suite. The room was a good size, with a comfortable king bed, ensuite bathroom, and changing area with bar fridge. A hot breakfast was served daily in addition to fresh fruit, juice, yogurt, muffins, and several cereals. Casa is on a slope so one can view the town and Lake Chapala from the dinning area in addition to the beautiful garden and swimming pool. We walked about 5 to 6 miles everyday to work up an appetite for dinner at the many restaurants in the surrounding area. We enjoyed all our meals and were pleasantly surprised by the Mexican wines we tried. The Mexican people were a delight, always polite and welcoming. We were fortunate to meet some really nice gringos visiting or living in Ajijic. In addition to our host Emile, the Lake Chapala Society was a good resource for local info. We used their ATM machine and had a few lunches there. Overall, we enjoyed our vacation in Ajijic and stay with Emile at Casa Tres Leones. We look forward to visiting again next winter.

Couldn't be happier with our choice for a family vacation (three couples). If you can get the Mexican Lovers Suite, do it. The room is stunning, with views and a back patio and comfy chair and sofa, beautiful brick ceiling. The whole place is old Ajijic style -- reminded me of my grandparents' place there 50 years ago. The grounds and pool are spectacular and lush, and all the antique/artisan appointments in the rooms are charming. The Ken Edwards plates displayed in the kitchen are to die for. Emile, the host, was wonderful and cooked us hot breakfasts all week, which we ate on the lovely patio with a breeze and awesome view. He also arranged for his driver, Oscar, to take us to Tequila, which ended up being far less expensive and more fun than a charter tour. I felt very safe there, with good locks and security. Excellent maid service every day. Quiet and tranquil, but a quick walk down into the center of town. My only suggestion is that some umbrellas or shade by the pool would have been nice (we spent lots of time there). Can't wait to return! Hard to imagine there's a better spot to stay in Ajijic.

I have stayed in Ajijic many times, but my recent stay at Casa Tres Leones was by far the best. This gorgeous house has something for everyone, with a great selection of rooms that are all stunning. I stayed in the mirador suite, which in addition to all of the amenities that you would expect, has a beautiful roof lookout that gives you an incredible view of the entire area & lake. Emile & Alix are hospitable and professional and really made the difference between top notch and just another place to stay. This property has it all!

What a wonderful experience at Tres Leones. Exquisite gardens, lovely rooms, setting, and delicious breakfast.

Sorry it took so long to answer you.
Yes we are within an easy stroll down
