This was our first trip to Ajijic and our stay at Bellissimo’s was absolutely wonderful. Your host Linda will add volumes to your visit by providing an out of this world one of a kind setting that has everything you could want, many suggestions for restaurants, and things to do Linda is so helpful with getting drivers and make reservations. Then the absolute best is her stories of her life and years in this special place - get ready to be inspired and laugh!!! 😊

We have discovered the most restful getaway in Ajijic, Mexico, just 30 minutes outside of Guadalajara airport on Lake Chapala. We stayed at the luxurious Bellissimo's Boutique Hotel, where they spoiled us rotten. There are many activities close by to enjoy and the hotel will arrange transportation and the activities. Bellissimo’s is in the quaint town of old Ajijic on Lake Chapala, and is only a 5 minute walk to the lakeside. Bellissimo's is true luxury with its exceptional decor and one of a kind artwork displayed throughout the hotel. But the biggest plus is that you are treated like royalty. The rooms are luxurious and the entire experience was incomparable. I loved the gourmet breakfasts, as well as the glass elevator and the friendly environment. The town of Tlaquepaque is only 35 minutes away, San Juan Cosala Hot Springs is 20 minutes, Guadalajara shopping and museums an hour. This will be a yearly vacation destination for us!

My wife and I were completely delighted and surprised when we checked into Bellissimo’s Boutique Hotel in historic Ajijic on Lake Chapalla. From the personalized greeting gift and custom welcome plaque to the warm welcome by the owner, we felt as if our arrival had been excitedly anticipated. This was to be our vacation home for the next several days. Our large suite consisted of a luxurious sleeping room with an attached sitting area for relaxing and reading. The beautiful decorations and artwork, sumptuous bedding, personal fridge and microwave, plus a beautiful work desk are only a partial description of our vacation domain. The bathroom had a roomy jetted tub and spacious shower, along with personal robes, plentiful linen and thoughtfully included toiletries in case we had forgotten anything. Their website photos give a great view of what I'm talking about. Ours was a very personalized experience. Guests never feel crowded, because Bellissimo’s offers just 3 suites in the main building, one detached casita off the private pool plus an amazing and huge penthouse suite located on the very top level. We also spent time visiting with Linda, the creator and proprietor of this mini-resort, and were amazed at the detail and extra touch that were included in the design and development of the boutique hotel. Each morning we were served a masterpiece breakfast consisting of bountiful fresh fruit dishes, plus master-chef entrees of omelets or any of a number of other custom cooked specialties. Bellissimo’s is located in the historic center of Ajijic, a one-time fishing village on the shore of Lake Chapala. It is just an 8-minute stroll from the hotel to the lakeshore walk, which features small outdoor markets, restaurants and picnic areas where local families mix with visitors in a most friendly setting. Ajijic is about a 40-minute drive from Guadalajara, the 2nd largest city in Mexico. This was our first, but definitely not our last visit to Bellissimo’s. To quote Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator, “I’ll be back!”

I have to say that our stay at Bellissimo's surpassed our expectations. Not only is Linda an amazing host, she has found the way to make the guests feel at home, at a very luxurious home. The detail she has put into every corner of her hotel makes me think it is a source of happiness for her and fortunately for us, she was willing to share it.

If Ajijic is the hidden gem of Mexico, Bellissimo’s is the jewel in the crown. Bellisdimo’s lives up to its name sake and much more. Part art gallery, part Tuscan villa , unique beauty and luxury that is welcoming and fun, note the thoroughly amazing mosaic pool and gourmet breakfasts. Linda, the owner/proprietor is the epitome of hospitality and accommodation. My wife and I spent 10 days at Bellissimo’s and always felt our enjoyment and satisfaction were the highest priority. We stayed in the “Portofino”on the 2nd floor, an exquisite suite that added that something special- the intangible that makes vacations a little magical. Diane R. New York, NY

My partner and I could not have been more happy and loved Bellissimo's. It is super arty, clean and serene. We stayed in the Casita and enjoyed every minute. Linda ,the owner, made sure we were taken care of in every way. The breakfasts were gourmet ,thanks to Suzie and Linda, and there were drinks and snacks throughout the day. Bellissimo is beautiful and Linda knows what to do to make your stay wonderful . She suggested a spa, a boat ride ,and horseback riding which were all great. Also the restaurants were terrific and inexpensive. Missing Bellissimo's weather in cold NY.

Hi Ann! Believe me, I am missing you two and all the excitement and laughter you and your friends brought to Bellissimo's! I am happy you enjoyed your time here and our food and hospitality! We are working on new breakfast ideas next week, and Clemente is here removing all the glass solar panels above the Casita area and I'm have a new canopy built with another lounging area and a large bed garden for fresh herbs and vegetables for the table. I'm always excited about making improvements to Bellissimo's! I hope to see you both again when the weather turns too cold to stay in NY. Cheers, Linda

Imagine a gorgeous Mediterranean Villa enticing a romantic Latin Lover. Their love child is Bellisdimo! Just a few blocks from the town plaza and the lake, it is a charming and romantic oasis of peace and tranquility. Linda has thought of everything. The quality of the furniture, the luxurious bedding and sheets, the stunning art, to every amenity you can dream of. The pool is silky and clean, the hot tub chemical free and the best spot to enjoy your morning coffe in. A gourmet breakfast awaits you at your leisure. We’ve never felt more comfortable, or more well taken care of anywhere. Juliette and Frank Guidara

Linda made us feel like friends, much more than guests. The other reviews are right on the mark for style and furnishings. Our daily breakfast was always a treat, Linda and Suzie are wonderful cooks. I'd recently had a hip replacement and found the bed to be a bit high, but I managed. The pool and courtyard are fantastic, and Linda provides all the amenities you might need so you can truly enjoy your R&R time. Belissimo's is well-located to enjoy the restaurants and markets in town, nothing is too far of a walk (well Lake Taco was a bit of a stretch for a guy with a cane). Linda knows so much about the area and can direct you to the best spots for dinners in Ajijic or Chapala (ask about free margeritas). We stayed in another hotel for our first few days and there is absolutely no comparison. 10 days in the area wasn't enough to see everything. We are already thinking about when we will be returning, and who we will bring along! If you need shuttle service, Linda can arrange that for you too.

When my husband and I stayed at Bellissimo's Boutique Hotel in Ajijic recently, we expected luxurious living, but soon discovered that luxury was almost beside the point. Bellissimo's is so much more than luxury, it is an explosion of art. Imagine, if you can, what it would be like to live inside a Matisse painting or a Rodin sculpture. That's what it felt like to me. Linda Fossi, the owner/operator of Bellissimo's, has way too much talent for one person. She not only designed a dramatic, eye-popping home, she created some of the stunning art in the house, including a mosaic fantasy surrounding the pool that goes on forever. As if that were not enough, her gourmet breakfasts display substantial culinary talent, leaving me to conclude she must have kicked others out of line when God was dishing out talent. To top it off, she is the most attentive host, working tirelessly to provide a perfect experience for her guests. The quality of the furnishings rivaled what you might find in the very best hotels in the most famous cities of the world. All quite incredible for a small town in Mexico. Jaw dropping.

Dear Linda and Jim, Wow. Really. WOW! Your comments have made my heart do a double back flip! I love that you truly appreciated the creativity and 'explosion of art' that Bellissimo's represents....that means so much to me to read. Thank you a million times. And of course, to read that you not only felt I deserved a star for being 'the most attentive host'....but also for my culinary talents ~ just made my smile so big and made me proud to be able to attract such appreciative and loving guests such as you. Please, come back any time and spend a day or two with me. Maybe you'll try out different seasons here and even go horseback riding with Pancho (and me) next time! What a fun day that would be. Cheers and thank you again, Linda

Linda Fossi has built the most fabulous B&B you will ever stay at, bar none! The decor - all her own painstaking design - is a feast for the eyes and senses. There are no details left to chance. It is a beautiful place to stay, but most importantly, she becomes your instant best friend. From the bear hug greeting, to the welcome plate of snacks & wine of your choice, you will be lavished with attention. The rooms are super comfortable with the best amenities. We stayed in Portofino on the 2nd floor, which was huge and included a king bed, desk, sitting area and small dining area. The bathroom was huge (a real his-&-hers), as was the walk-in closet. If I were to mention all the little amenities and treats, I'd have to write a tome! Turn-down service included a lovely nightcap liquor and divine chocolates. On a personal note, unfortunately my husband took ill the day after we arrived and spent most of our week long stay in the hospital. Linda was so supportive and helpful, we cannot thank her enough. From greeting me late in the evening (returning from the hospital) with some sustenance, a glass of wine and an empathetic ear, to helping me through some banking issues, to driving us down the road to Chapala for his last dr's appt, she was our guardian angel. Hopefully, you won't have any health issues and can spend your vacation enjoying Bellissimos & Ajijic. As a 20 year resident of the lovely community, Linda is a fountain of information on all things Ajijic. She's also had a fabulous and fascinating life...so spend some time getting to know her. We will absolutely be back, and would never stay anywhere else. We cannot say enough about how delightful Bellissimos is and what a warm and wonderful host we found in Linda.
