What a fun place this is to visit. No matter your interest -- horseback riding, hiking, plain-air painting, tequila-tasting, jigsaw-puzzle-solving, you-name-it, this original off-the-grid guest ranch will suit you, your friends and/or your family! I am interested in riding, and owner Raul did not disappoint. There are horses and trails for all experience levels, and they are wonderful calm, been-there-done-that...

Our experience at Baja Rancho La Bellota was more than what we expected. We were greeted with gracious hospitality. Immediately we felt as we hadlanded back in the "days of old in the 20's", with real cowboys and horses. The adventures on horseback were exciting and it gave you a sense of living life on a working ranch. The owner...

We love this ranch. Raul and Caroline and fantastic hosts. We have been coming to this ranch for the last few years hunting Quail. This weekend we decided to bring our wives and go wine tasting and horseback riding. My wife hasn't rode a horse in years but the horses at the ranch are so good she felt safe and...

Baja Rancho La Bellota is a 2800 acre horse ranch, art retreat, and so much more, about 1 hour south of Tecate on the inland edge of the Guadalupe Valle. When you go there you are "off the grid"- no cell phones, tv- just the sounds of nature and wonderful care and warmth of Raul and Caroline Aguiar and their...

A really unique experience to be off the grid in such a remote and quiet setting. We were taken care of so warmly and didn't have worry about any of the details. I appreciated being welcomed into Caroline and Raul's home in the mountains for great riding opportunities, wonderful food, and fabulous scenic views.

My best friend invited me to go with her and her 84 year old grandma down to Racho La Bellota last week and I had no idea what a treat I was in store for! This is her grandmas favorite place on earth and her 14th time at the ranch. Raul & Caroline met us at the border with 4x4...

Our first visit to the ranch was in 2010 and it became one of the most memorable trips we had. Last May, we went back again in a smaller group. We had a blast!!! We got to herd the cattle, ride the horses, challenge the hills, camp by the river in a pack trip, visit the wine route, drink lots...

“All hte rooms are "bunk house" style and quality--rustic. BUT, we are told that Raul and Caroline will soon me adding a full-size bed to each room rather than at present with two-bunk beds per room (twin-size). The beds worked fine for us as is--since we were four guys, but if returning with spouses we'd appreciate full-size beds in addition to bunk beds--which are great for storage.”
