Sitting with my back to a warm campfire and looking out over the alpine meadow, I couldn't tell where the fireflies left off and the stars began. This sense of wonder was often with me during our 2 day stay, even when it was rainy. Our dog woke up in the Pod with us on the second morning, gave us...

Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. Firefly time is a wonderful time of year to be here, however the stars are great all year round. Thank you so much for "getting it" ... as for the 5 am barking, I am sure your dog was just trying to add a little bark to the birds...

Stayed here for several days with the family. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We stayed in the apartment over the main lodge. Accommodations provided everything we needed. Very nice to have a full kitchen. Fantastic view of the mountains from the living room windows. Kids got a kick out of seeing the Highland cattle that live on the property....

We had a wonderful time at Au Diable vert, but It could have been very different if the weather hadn't been so nice. Since we had the best end of winter you could imagine, we made the most of our weekend. But it is true that attention to details is not there and that, if it had been very cold,...

Dear JJ844, thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. As to put your concerns at ease regarding heating the AIRSTREAMS we have now switch to easy to light Eco logs in all cabins with small stoves... we have had a very warm response from everyone so far . Nice landscape. Nevertheless, I don't think the owners ever seated on the sofas they offer as beds!!! the matresses are so thin that you can feel all the metal through it ! I found better beds in the cheapest hostel I visited... Also, the whole place is missing a bit "heart". Poor service at the reception. Definitely not a place...

Dear Jordane R so sorry to hear you enjoyed the landscape, but not your stay. We do change the mattresses regularly and the futons are of high quality. The underbilts have mostly been changed for wood structures. Your Au Diable Vert team

We stayed at the Chic-Choc cabin and found it was great. Clean, cute, nice view. But not worth 120$/night, especially not on a two-nights-minimum policy (what's that for, anyway?). The hike up to the cabin is extremely strenuous, ten times worse than their most difficult hike. I. Am. Not. Kidding. Not only do you have to hike it haul your...

Dear Veronique, Thank you for your review. Au Diable Vert has all sorts of accommodations to offer and for the comfort lover we recommend the fully equipped Mountain View Suites. Same great view, but no hike, no more than a few steps from your car. Your Au Diable Vert team

The scenery is beautiful. There are some interesting hikes in the forest but nothing impressive. It is a very nice place to go and you can arrive on the Round Top from this part of the mountain. The showers were clean. The view it is beautiful. Not far from Montreal

Exactly what we were expecting. No service 'off the grid' (almost) cute cabin. No one around. Reception desk: Fast. Not too friendly, borderline. Quick explanations. Could be more welcoming, just a suggestion. Cabin: We were in Pico Alto. Great location. Quiet. No pedestrian traffic. Hard to get to loft in ladder. No place to sit inside other that kitchen table....

I don't think Au diable vert desserves the bad critics they got on this site. We spend 2 days in mid-august and it was a nice trip. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Au Diable Vert is an unusual concept in the world of wilderness outfitters, agrotourism and recreotourism, but a concept that proves more and more popular and relevant each year. Instead of just a fishing rod or gun, our guests have the chance to appreciate nature and the spectacular view of the Appalachian and Green mountains, with binoculars, camera, hiking poles, a kite or the hand of a loved one. Facilitating the Quebec wilderness experience, no matter the season, is what we strive to do better and better each year. A compelling and unique choice of activities, range from exploring our mountain top site in the mountains, to splashing, paddling and fishing in the valley, to pedalling through the treetops on the unique-in-Canada VeloVolant canopy cycle. ... more   less
