It was our second time at the Auberge du Lac Taureau, but our first time during winter (first time in August 2020). Site is really nice, a lot of activities available, rooms are nice and clean, staff is amazing. Food was really good (buffet) but the only thing I could suggest to have a better next stay is a dinner restaurant with table service (buffet for breakfast is ok). We love that place and we will certainly go back soon!
This site is lovely and the staff is amazing. Rooms are great and we have a great choice of activities. They are very organized in terms of animation. We decided to take off a star because of the food quality that we rate as a A- at the most and the quality of the ice pond that needs a bit more love.
My husband took me on a surprise birthday trip to visit Quebec and snowmobile all weekend! He could not have chose a more perfect accommodation than Auberge Du Lac Taureau! The entire resort and rooms are absolutely gorgeous not to mention all the amenities, including a Bistro with delicious food, a pool, hot tubs and and outdoor Nordic spa! We also took advantage of the beautiful spa located under the lobby. Our massage therapists were Sophie and Genevieve and I can speak for us both when I say, for two people who have had many massages, these were two of the best we’ve ever had! This will now be an annual destination for us to enjoy beautiful trail systems, and the culture of Canada.
Stopped in for lunch while snowmobiling thru the area. Very few options on the overpriced lunch menu. No children options at all. Very poorly organized and slow service... We placed our order and within a few minutes, 3 other servers came by to take our order. Then 2 more came by and asked if we were done and ready for the bill. I explained to all 5 that we were waiting for our food. After about 45-50 min of waiting a manager came by and asked what we had ordered and said she would look into it. Our original server came back and took our order again stating it had been lost... Once we finally received our food the order was wrong... When finally corrected the food was barely warm, the meat overcooked, overseasoned and dry. It took over 90 min from placing our original order to receiving our food... We won't be back.…
What an amazing long weekend at the Auberge du lac Taureau. We went for a girls weekend away, and it was THE exact place we needed. I will go into some details to explain why this was a fabulous experience, and why i will be going back. Arrival: As soon as we arrived and we checked in, we were greeted by amazing staff. I believe her name was Lea (she had just started working there a few days prior) greeted us so warmly, explained to us everything we needed to know (location of restaurant/ buffet, pools/spa, our rooms..... everything we needed to know, So friendly staff at the receptions starts the weekend off right. Our rooms: We had a room in the auberge. 2 beds one bathroom, just the right size. Even though the room was a bit small, it was just enough for what we needed (literally only to sleep) Food / Restaurants: We arrived before dinner, so we went to the BISTRO for a quick bite to eat before dinner. I had ordered the salmon, however when it came to the table, it was charred on the outside, but cold and uncooked on the inside. The super nice waitress took it back without hesitation and got me another meal (i took the poutine which was delicious). This is literally the only negative part of my trip, and it was not too bad to be honest. We spent most of our time at the BISTO as it has nice comfortable couches, a nice fireplace and an amazing view. The drinks were nice too so it was the ideal place to relax, unwind, and enjoy our time there. Now lets talk about the buffet. W...O...W!!!!! The food was absolutely AMAZING. So many choices, such good taste.... honestly we were pleasantly surprised. Dinner was amazing, breakfast was fantastic..... that's all i can say. Staff there too were just wonderful and friendly Pools: During our trip, we stuck to the outside spa (18 yr and over only). It was a bit small (as it was usually filled with alot of people) but it was great. There is an outdoor sauna also (that we did not use as we do not like sauna's in general) but many people there used it. The outside pool and indoor pool we did not try either but saw many in it during out stay. Spa: We booked 2 massage sessions as well as the chair treatment. The 2 massage therapists we had were amazing. Really did a great job. The neurospa chair (or bed in our case) was alright. It was relaxing, but it wasn't as great as the massages we received. Activities: As we came mainly to relax, we did not participate in any of the onsite activities. My friend went on a walk around the lot and she said it was beautiful. We saw that there were yoga sessions, fatbike rides and many other activities that could have been done during our stay. Wrap up: All in all, it was a fantastic experience. I will be recommending this place to family and friend, and i will also be coming back forsure. Whether a girls weekend away, a family trip or even just a solo trip, this is a wonderful place to discover. Thank you for the wonderful weekend!…
I visited the Auberge du Lac Taureau this summer and stayed 3 (marvelous) night at this hotel/restaurant. The hotel is located next to the lake Taureau in a very nice environment. It has direct access to beaches, several free and paid activities, a swimming pool and spa, and two restaurants. The rooms are very nice and we had a view on the lake. Very comfortable with AC, TV, Fridge, Balcony… all the family loved it!!! On the allergy side, the restaurant is 100% allergic friendly. We went to the buffet (better for our budget) and I explained my allergies. The personnel was very friendly and immediately went to the kitchen to search for an alternative, they came back with 4 options for each step of the dinner (entry, main and dessert), I received marvelous plates (much better than the buffet) kids were even jealous! All this for the same price as the buffet. I was impressed. Many thanks to all the personnel at Auberge du Lac Taureau!…
Pleasantly surprised by this resort. We've been here for just a couple of days, but we enjoyed it very much. It's a bit pricey but for what you get for the money it worth it all. Very good food, very good customer service, nice, quiet, very clean. We will certainly return.
Quality below 4stars in terms of services and facilities First, what I'm writing is nothing against the staff-trying to do an amazing job...it seems more like staff shortages and some kind of mismanagement. Also, it seems that European expectations are far from the local deliveries. Location Amazing place. A lot of nature. Love it. Before arrival Lots of conversations with the Animation Booking Center. Mix up between what we have reserved Motor Neige; and fat bike, what they said we had reserved. The deposit was taken before arrival, without informing about it in advance in writing by email. They said it will be made on the day and place of the event/motorneige. Set a pressure, if you don’t give the deposit before hand we cancel the reservation.,,and other bla bla blub- We've booked a package (2 nights + 1/2 ski-doo). Despite this we needed to deal with 2 different departments (reception and animation booking centre). It took quite a lot of time, as many errors have occurred, and no one wanted to take responsibility for the situation. Room Tiny. Windows and patio door not operable. No tidying up. Small and poorly cleaned rooms. You hear every step, stairs, talk or even nose blow outside the room, inside the room. Staff The people who come from Europe, France, speak English and French perfectly, and have understood the principle of the customer king. Some others need training. The staff is overworked, hence making a lot of mistakes. The same waiter worked three days in a row! No wonder that he made mistakes. Facility Needs a curve. A few years already. Restaurants Chef Restaurant: Also, we were told on a call beforehand that we don't need to reserve, it was to reserve, so no chance to try. Bistro: the worst burger we have ever eaten. And that should normally be unable in the North America. Had the impression the patty it was not freshly prepared. The only good red wine by glass (a Sangioves) on the menu was out of stock, and the waiter twice brought wrong orders. (1st he forgot the burger and then kitchen was closed and 2ndly we ordered one small and one big tartar but got two times small tartar). Breakfast: far from what we expected for a night at CAD300. Orange juice from the tetra pack. Cappuccino goes extra and is average at all. 100 of people trying same time to crap breakfast. Didn’t work at all. A row of 20 people waiting for their Omelet. So can imagine how you smell afterwards when the air condition does now work proper. So, another shower after breakfast was necessary. Departure Deposits not fully refunded (we used two different cards) and lots of wrong explanations and discussions why. Finally, was solved, no excuse from the resp. Manager from the Animation Booking Centre. She tried to made us feeling we did something wrong to be here as a customer. Parking Surely it's not their responsibility, but another car scratches our side by opening the door. Overall, the lake and nature are beautiful, the motor neige is great, the trails are great, the pickup of ski du fond and motor neige really good….but we would not visit the accommodation a second time and would not recommend it cause of above mentioned points.…
What a beautiful place! It had everything we wanted, the weather prevented us from being able to fully appreciate a d access it though! the ice rink was too soft, we couldn’t skate, the ski trails were too wet and soft, but we lived the snowshoeing we were able to do! the food in the restaurant was generous and they had a great variety. the auberge was cery clean, our room was clean and comfortable. our pillows were soft and fluffy though we found them to flatten too much. (not a complaint just an observation), the pools inside and outside were perfect, the hottubs were too. We enjoyed the outdoor sauna as well. we would definitely go back.
We had such a lovely time with our 8 and 6 year old and took advantage of all the winter activities include like skating, cross country skiing, tubing and even ice fishing for a small extra fee. They even cleaned and froze the trout for our departure! The highlight for the kids (and adults!) was the outdoor heated pool. Swimming under the winter sky was a needed break. Indoor pool and whirlpool was super too. Considering we stayed during these Covid times, everything was very clean and respectful of norms. Food was delicious and our perfect way to end the day was roasting marshmallows by the individual fire pits. We hope to return to experience the summer season!
