We stayed only one night, got to enjoy the spa and sauna (free but you have to reserve, which is nice since you are alone in it). The room was nice, with the roof en lucarnes. If you're looking for a B&B, this is not the spot : the warmth, character and coziness is missing. It really feels like a... More

We stayed in one of the deluxe rooms in the small house next to the main Auberge building. The room was large and comfortable with a small balcony and fireplace. It would have been improved by air conditioning and a small fridge. The welcome at the Auberge is friendly but the decor is rather dated and in need of an... More

Enjoyable ambiance, reserved a superior room in converted barn behind main lodge. Second floor rooms have a view of the distance St Lawrence. Rooms are adequate, luxurious linens on a large comfortable bed, fireplaces for cold months. A small room fridge would certainly be an added convenience for cool beverages after a day of exploring. There's a lounge, sunny breakfast... More

Room so small we couldn't roll out our yoga mat. No cell service and poor internet. Pictures of rooms online are very deceiving. Because of my disappointment with the room I was hesitant about eating here but the meal was spectacular. I'd stay somewhere else but eat here again happily.

Thank you for taking time to comment about your stay. We do have a very good chef and such good comments about his cuisine are always appreciated. For the room, We have to admit that in the English version of our internet site, we do not mention that our regular rooms are small as we do on the French side.... More

We are a newly retired couple from the UK, in our 60s. The auberge was well-signposted when we’d gone over the bridge at La Malbaie. It’s near to Cap a L’Aigle. Room 28 is one of the bigger, ‘deluxe’ rooms on the top floor of the converted barn behind the main building. It is well-furnished with a settee and armchair,... More

A cosy and quiet "Auberge" on the high cliffs overlooking the majestic St-Lawrence River. Small rooms with minimal amenities, i.e. no AC, no small fridge, however there is a fan and it is comfortable. Near the town of La Malbaie where restaurants are numerous as well as a nearby beautiful garden on the cliffs going downward to the shore with... More

We randomly booked a last minute getaway to the Charlevoix area, and we couldn't be happier that we did. The Auberge des Peupliers was the perfect spot for a few days outside of the hectic life of NYC (for New Yorkers, let me tell you, this is like being upstate times 10 -- also, it doesn't seem like they get... My daughter wanted to go to old Quebec to celebrate her graduation, on a whim I decided to add two days out and away from the city to experience the country side. This beautiful little hotel was the perfect spot. Our room was large, bright, cheery and clean. The staff friendly, and bilingual. The food was great. We enjoyed two... More

Just spent the weekend with family at l'auberge. Lovely setting and, in my opinion, the best table in Charlevoix. We had an excellent dinner on Saturday night. Thanks to Gilles Bernard and his staff - the dinner was perfect from begin to end... I highly recommend to try the restaurant for dinner, even if you do not stay at l'auberge.

A wonderful getaway to the unforgettable Charlevoix ... Cap á l'Aigle in La Malbaie at the Auberge des Peupliers ... restaurant was excellent albeit a wee bit pricey, most memorable points are the uber comfortable bed and pillows and the good view of the St. Laurent River. The very hospitable staff made our overnight stay very pleasant. Picky notes ...... More
