Loved the golf course, a thrill to play. The staff are knowledgable and friendly and they make you feel important and welcomed. At the hotel the staff greeted us as if we were VIP guests. We will definitely return next year.
The scenery at Crowbush cannot be beat. you do not need to be a golfer to enjoy this location. The beach is spectacular. I was cycling in the area and the roads and trails were wonderful. The clubhouse is a wonderful spot for dinner.
My husband and I celebrated our 40th Anniversary at the Crowbush resort this summer. We enjoyed the golf and food available at the resort. Our room was clean and exactly what we expected. We would recommend this resort to our friends and family.
Our impression of this place is it is not so good anymore. It's old and tired, in dire need of paint, carpets, quieter toilets on other floors, screen doors that work and fixtures that aren't rusty. Having a quiet fridge would also help. One tip, make sure you request not to be put in a wheelchair access room.
The resort is on a beautiful site with views of dunes, marshes, and the Gulf of St. Lawrence beyond. Some of the hotel rooms and cottages have a nice view; some do not. If having a view is important, be sure you talk directly to someone at the hotel to make your wishes known. The place looks shabby. There’s rotting window frames and peeling paint all over. Check out the front door to our cottage. We were delayed nearly an hour beyond the normal check-in time because housekeeping wasn’t finished and then by housekeeping inspection. But there were problems that neither the housekeeper nor inspector caught. The refrigerator was missing a part that made it impossible to store tall bottles; the icemaker didn’t work (but a community ice machine was nearby); there was no regular coffee, only decaf; one of the toilets was in perpetual flush mode unless the tank cover was removed and the ball float manually lifted; there were salt and pepper shakers, pepper was full; salt was empty. The on-off switch on one of the lamps was broken rendering the lamp useless. There were only two lounge chairs at the pool, and one was broken. Mostly little things, but not my idea of what a luxury resort should be like. There’s a laundry shed with two washing machines (one was broken when we were there) and two dryers. Wash and dry are $2 CN each. Dollar coins are available at the front desk. Free laundry soap and dryer sheets are also at the front desk. (Although when we got the coins for the machines, they didn’t tell us about the soap, and we had to make a second trip to the front desk to get the supplies.) The beach is a long walk from the main building, but there’s an on-demand shuttle that can take you. But bring your phone. You must call if you want a ride back to the main building. There were only about 6 beach chairs for the whole resort. The beach is very nice, and you can walk a long way. We are not golfers, but the course looked beautiful and very challenging (lots of water and sand). Staff was very accommodating. Summary: a nice location in serious need of rehab.…
This is a great property and the staff at Crowbush were so nice and welcoming. They couldn't do enough for us. We stayed in one of the cottages and the cottage was super quiet and the king bed was so comfortable. The resort is a real treasure for the Island.
Staff were friendly and engaging in all areas from Front Desk , restaurant, bell concierge /shuttle staff, and Golf course staff. Beautiful setting and would recommend the golf course view rooms. The Hotel is getting tired and needs some updating. Exterior paint was pealing in numerous spots.
Where to start. Check in was great and our room was fine. We stayed in the Hotel section. We were excited as we just left another Rodd property and it was fantastic. We had our dog so for dinner I stayed in and my wife and kids ventured to the club house restaurant to have dinner on the patio. We called to see if they had room and were told yes but they had a large table coming at 630 so to try and get there before. They left quickly at 6:05 for the short walk. I ordered the striploin from the main restaurant. They did not ask how I would like it done so I asked if I could have it medium rare. It showed up quick and was very tasty. My wifes experience was terrible. They ordered drinks and food and after almost an hour she went and found another server to see where hers was. After another 10 mins she finally came over and apologized. My wife said her and the kids were beyond hungry and this was a long delay. The food they ordered was nachos and fish tacos. The table next to them had drinks, apps, mains and were getting the bill when her food came. The server on the other table thanked them for the delay and told them she comped things on there bill for it and very loudly exclaimed that she wished others that night were more understanding. That was BS. They came back and were all upset. I suggested she go talk to the front desk and they met a young lady who was amazing. She was empathetic and apologized and made a not great situation much better. She is an asset to that team. I took the dog out later that evening and another guest was complaining about some issue and I overheard her and she took ownership and very matter of factly and stated to him that she would not be happy until he was satisfied. Amazing!! We went for breakfast the next morning and it was the same servers. They told us it would be a wait as they only had one person in the kitchen. We were fine with that. After a wait, our food showed up. My eggs benny were poached in water and vinegar and the taste was way off. The holandaise had completely seperated. No extra rounds of coffee or check ins on our table but certainly saw that happening at others. Maybe we were blacklisted for complaining I'm not sure. I did see the servers all sitting at one table near the kitchen at different points. Maybe some of them could go plate, prep or find some way to help the understaffed kitchen. I understand being short staffed but you can be clear with patrons about a delay which can help and you certainly can still offer great customer service. This place is way off the mark. Brudenell was far superior. I would suggest some training at that resort and maybe some talking points from Angelina ( I believe that is her name and she is 19 ) from the front desk on what great customer service looks like. I've stayed at various places on Pei. 21 nights so far this year which is a combination of business and some family weekends and you can be sure, I will never stay there again. One other positive note though is the beach which is incredible, the driver of the shuttle cart who was great. Big smile and very talkative. She was amazing. On the beach I ran into our real estate lawyer who has been there for few nights in a cottage with a larger group and he said they will not be going back either for a variety of reasons. If your looking for a great Pei resort, I suggest checking out the other Rodd property in Brudenell.…
The accommodations were great and the staff was very friendly and efficient. The property is beautiful! Our view from our cottage was amazing. The staff were very attentive but not bothersome. I highly recommend Rodd Crowbush cottages for a stay in this part of PEI.
The place was nicely landscaped, but disappointing. We rented two cottages at this golf and beach resort for a multi-family stay. Both cottages had insufficient hot water for family members to take a bath and a shower, even within an hour of each other. We were both also lacking Adirondack chairs, and were told none were available (although other cottages within sight had them). The beach was great with gorgeous soft sand, but I would not stay there again. Overpriced by far.
