Detailed Reviews
We were happy with our stay here. We stayed on the 6th floor in the Riviera suite. It was so nice having the jacuzzi in the room. I definitely made use of it and the complimentary bath salts. The room had been recently renovated. It was clean and comfortable. Check in and out was easy. Staff were friendly. The free breakfast was continental. No complaints. If you wanted eggs or a bigger breakfast you could order at a reasonable cost. The inn was about a five minute drive to the TTC subway, which we did because of the time of year. The weather was cold and windy. Parking at the subway is a little pricey. In better weather, we would walk as it would be about 10 minutes away. The subway ride to downtown Toronto is about 45 minutes. Stress free travel to the theatre and other attractions. The inn is also about a six minute drive away from Vaughan Mills so it's a really ideal location.

Dear Valued Guest, We appreciate you taking the time to provide us feedback on your recent stay. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and both the room and service was well appointed. We stayed at this hotel with our two teen boys in August 2021. The purpose of our trip was visiting Canada’s Wonderland and the main reason for choosing this hotel was it’s close location to there. During check in and our stay the staff was not very friendly. They were not rude but not polite and smiling either. Breakfast was served in paper bags and was really (I don’t want to say disgusting) not edible. You can buy those low quality packed bakery products from any dollar store. Neither of us could eat it. Our room was not pleasant. I cannot say dirty but there was something about it. First of all it was very noisy. The fridge was working like a diesel engine. Secondly there was a different smell in the room we all (including the kids) had headaches. And thirdly there was something in the air we all woke up in the morning with a strange taste in our mouths. It s not cheaper than other hotel chains in the region and definitely I will recommend and not chose Monte Carlo inn again.

I so desperately want to fault this hotel but I CAN'T! I wanted to stay outside downtown because I'm not a fan of heights. I chose this because I'd have managed whatever floor I was put on but perfectly, I was on 1st floor or as they call in Canada, 2nd floor (after ground floor is 1st floor but we're fighting over that). Perfect location, 10 mins walk to Subway station where you get a train to downtown Toronto in about 40 mins. Places to eat with Walmart's just across the road! Clean, spacious rooms with complimentary toiletries (thanks for the body lotion I'd not brought any thinking I'd buy from Walmart's), coffee, tea, sugar and cream. Lovely staff members.
Continental breakfast was plentiful with fresh fruits. I don't eat full English breakfast at home every day so I wouldn't want it on holiday (not served mentioning because others have complained about it).
Deposit held and not taken out of my card since I left without damaging anything. The deposit was a little confusing because one is "authorising" a payment.
Leaving suitcase after check out (departure at night) was a little confusing because you sign a slip that say "picked by" but I'm leaving it not picking...again maybe difference in the use of English words but I got my suitcase 6hrs later so no complaints.

We stayed here for 1 night, traveling as a family and we were very disappointed in our experience. From check in to check out the entire experience was awful. We experienced the most unwelcoming check in I have ever experienced. The lady behind the front desk was so unfriendly and did not even greet us. She proceeded to process payment immediately for the room. She advised us breakfast would be available in the morning in the lobby. The hotel itself is very dark and rundown. The parking lot is very dark as well. The room itself is very minimal, it smelled like stale smoke, offered minimal amenities and did not feel clean at all. Traveling during a pandemic, cleanliness is very important to us and this place just did not live up to the standards. There was also no security latch lock on the door, which I do not like and does not make me feel secure. The window screen was ripped, the desk chair was missing a wheel, the bed was as hard as a rock an the towels and pillowcases had stains on them. Upon check out in the morning, we were once again not even greeted when I expressed my concerns to the lady behind the front desk she said nothing, she did not acknowledge a single thing I said. Oh and the free breakfast...was coffee and nothing else. There were people wandering the halls and elevators without masks, at check out there was a man upset and yelling at the front desk clerk with no mask on either...the whole thing was a disaster. We have stayed at several other hotels in the area before and have always had a great experience, we will never be back!! Spend a few extra dollars and stay at any of the local competitors.

This was a great hotel to stay at. Check-in was easy and the room was high quality.
I stayed in a small suite on the 6th floor but it really just had a little extra space for a couch and television.
The staff was friendly and I had no issues at all.
I did not eat at the free breakfast but my colleagues who ate there said it wasn't the best (bagels, toast, cereal, etc.)
I would recommend this hotel.

Rude desk staff, literally lied to me on the phone and said freshly renovated, they must’ve meant in the early 1990s, old carpets and dated atmosphere. Then you wake up in the morning and discover the worst hotel breakfast in history, coupled with more rude staff, adamantly excusing away the cold boiled eggs and Cheerios. Then I go to check out and this brand apparently holds a deposit for eight days, of course coupled again with a rude and bad attitude from the clerk at the counter. This hotel is great if it’s literally the very last room in town and if it is, prepare to be gouged …….. 😕

We stayed at Monte Carlo for our trip to Vaughan/Toronto and I must say, despite the very mixed reviews, I was extremely impressed. The service was superb; staff were very attentive to us and they were very kind. The hotel/room itself was very clean and pretty up to date for a cheap hotel in this area. The room was cozy, comfortable, and a bonus; the AC unit was excellent for tackling the hot weather we endured while in Ontario. Breakfast was average — your typical toast, boiled eggs, pastries, yogurt, etc.. but overall it was good and we always left satisfied. My only suggestion for this hotel is that they get an ATM — the night of our arrival, we had an issue with the debit/credit cards and almost didn’t get let into our room (at 2am mind you!) despite half the price already being paid. The front desk employee suggested us paying the rest in cash but said they didn’t have an ATM and we could go to a gas station nearby to get some cash. Again, not really feasible at 2am for two people who hadn’t ever been to the area before. Other than that, Monte Carlo Inn is certainly a place I’d suggest someone to stay!

I read some terrible reviews after I booked for two nights and it scared me. I want to set the record straight. This hotel is great! The rooms are nicely equipped and very clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a tasty hot breakfast option for $8, which no one should be able to complain about. The continental breakfast offers toast, cereal, croissants, cookies and muffins as well s coffee and tea. Again no complaints. The nightly rates are more than reasonable. I would recommend this place to anyone without hesitation.

This was actually quite a pleasant surprise, we were on a budget so I booked fully expecting a Travel Lodge type of hotel... turns out this hotel is a bit better than that and therefore great value for money! The hotel is nice, clean and offers free parking and a free continental buffet breakfast (with the option to upgrade for about $8). There was a very basic gym but it had enough for a workout. We only stayed one night whilst travelling through, the location is easy to find but it is kind of on the edge of an industrial estate so don't expect a room with a view!

The bed was very comfortable, and the room itself was spacious. However, my overall experience was overshadowed by a few significant drawbacks. The air conditioning unit was incredibly loud, to the point where it was difficult to get a proper night's sleep, even with the setting turned down. Additionally, the breakfast offered was underwhelming, consisting only of bread and a few spreadables. If you wanted something more substantial, such as eggs, bacon, or potatoes, you had to pay for it. For the price of the stay, I expected a more satisfying and inclusive breakfast. While the room had its positive aspects, the noise from the AC and the lackluster breakfast options significantly impacted my stay.
