Formerly Rogerson's Lodges, Tornado's is a multi-faceted business and includes hotel / motel accommodations, cottages, air service, 2 fly-in lodges, and a couple fly-in outpost camps. Although I have stayed at all of them, this review will focus on Smoky Lake Lodge - a fly-in AP / HK camp just off the Still River system. Nearby and connected are Noganosh,...

Super clean, basic accommodations with a beautiful location. We spent one night in the motel accommodation which is a very basic cabin type room with a small fridge, 2 beds and a nice new bathroom. The room was spotless on arrival, the bathroom faucets actually sparkled they were so clean. There is little to no cell phone coverage, no TV's...

This was perfect for a long weekend get away! Nestled away in the woods, no internet or cell service! Great for hiking, canoeing, swimming and just relaxing by the water. The motel rooms are immaculately clean. The mini fridge and hairdryer were an unexpected pleasant surprise. The owners and staff were all very pleasant and friendly without being overbearing. You...

First off, the reason we only stopped for one night was because we were on our way to visit our family in Sault Ste Marie, It was about 40 km off the highway on our drive but well worth the drive. The owners Lidina and Lionel were so nice and welcoming. There was an extra $10 charge for our Rottweiler...

Tornado's Canadian Resorts was the best resort my family and I have ever gone to. First, I just want to state the remarkable view from the cottages, seeing the sunrise and the sunset was tremendously peaceful and relaxing. Waking up by a rooster was the best feeling for getting up in the morning for a long day ahead with many...

We've stayed here a couple of times and both times Lidina and Lionel have been excellent hosts. Even though the restaurant was closed, they served us meals at our request. I was surprised to see the one poor review given the excellent service we received. We were their last guests after they were officially closed and their first guests this...

Stayed here in Feb with some friends while snowmobiling. Very clean, stayed in Settlers Lodge. Met other snowmobilers also staying in lodge, we had great time hanging out around fireplace and having a few drinks in common areas. 5 separate rooms within in one house, each with their own bathrooms. Took the rate with meal plan which included supper and...

We rented a cabin at Tornado's main location, just off hwy 522. Keep in mind that this review is for a rustic location, so the expectation differs from a hotel stay. The cabin was clean and comfy with a full kitchen, including a dishwasher. We opted for the "deluxe" cabin as it had a fireplace and included bed sheets, and...

“try individual cottages”
 of 5 bubbles alexkZ1312DQ, Sep 3, 2014 | Read review
“If you stay in the motel: Ask to stay in room 1 as it is one of the few rooms with windows on three sides and the only room facing the restaurant and the lobby (if you are keen to go in as soon as they are open). If you stay at a cottage: ask for the cottage that is the best fit for your taste and needs, as some of them give you the view from the hillside, and others are right by the waterfront.”
