Welcome to The Barracks Inn Boutique Hotel, an exquisite luxury inn located in the Ancaster Village. This remarkable venue blends classic historic character with elegance and well-thought design. The enchanting old stone barracks, a century stone building, began its life in the early 1800's, serving as a barracks for British soldiers. After an interesting history, the property has been restored and renovated to serve as The Barracks Inn, Ancaster's only boutique inn. Luxury is fragrant throughout the Historic Inn with well-appointed bedrooms and common areas to spoil you. The Barracks Inn features 18 luxuriously appointed rooms, subtly blending unique period décor with the finest of modern guest amenities. As Ancaster's only luxury boutique inn hotel, attention to detail is in everything we do. Each room has been individually designed with fabrics and materials chosen for their colours, contours and textures drawing from the historic elegance with modern day indulgence. Amenities and furnishings for each of the 18 bedrooms have been hand selected and when it comes to comfort, we've thought of it all. This unique boutique inn will cater to the leisure and business traveller. Featuring conference/meeting/group facilities, Spa Packages, Golf Packages, Couple/Romance package, and Holiday/Winter Packages.. The Barracks Inn is conveniently located within walking distance of the Ancaster Mill, a most popular wedding venue. Also within walking distance the Ancaster Village has great shopping with many boutique stores, The Spa at Ancaster, many dining options such as Cavallo Nero's, the Rousseau House restaurant and lounge, and many more. Just a short distance from international airports including John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport or Hamilton International, and only 70 km from Toronto Pearson Airport is wonderfully convenient yet retains a tranquil and undisturbed setting. Ancaster is in southern Ontario and is a scenic suburb of Hamilton. It is situated beside Ontario's Niagara Escarpment and the town is home to an abundance of natural beauty offering many enjoyable recreational activities, as well as offering an array of shopping and dining opportunities. Visitors will find much to do in this picturesque town, such as spending time at the Fieldcote Memorial Park and Museum, visiting many of our conservation areas along the Bruce Trail and our many cascades and waterfalls such as the Tiffany Falls, Sherman Falls, and the Hermitage Falls just to name a few . Golf enthusiasts will enjoy playing a round or two at the Knollwood Golf Course, Ancaster also hosts a number of fun annual events throughout the year.

Getting married at the Ancaster Mill just down the street, the Barracks Inn was the perfect home-base for our wedding festivities. My now-husband & I booked a block of 10 rooms for us and our wedding party. We're glad we did this a year and a half in advance as we returned a couple months later to try and book the entire inn for our wedding weekend and the rest of the rooms were already taken. So be advised: it's best to book as early as possible if you're staying on a summer weekend. Room-wise, each of the rooms were tastefully done. While proximity to Ancaster Mill was the #1 priority for us, it was added icing on the cake that each room had it's own personality, was spotlessly clean, was charming and warm, and had comfortable beds and in-room amenities. The hotel was kind enough to ensure our block of rooms were also close together, which was helpful. If you're a bride planning to get ready at the Barracks Inn (particularly in the Royal Suite), some advice: - Bring a portable steamer. I didn't ask if the hotel had one at the front desk, but the room only had a regular iron. - The chandelier is a perfect height to hang your wedding dress. If you plan on taking pictures of your dress hanging there, I'd recommend bringing a nice clothes hanger as the wooden ones at the hotel are fine, but maybe not the aesthetic you might want. - If you need to hang other dresses (i.e. bridesmaid's), try hanging them in the bathroom from the top of the glass shower enclosure. This saved us!

The service was excellent from booking to checkout. Christopher Colley was instrumental in helping us to find a suitable date for our stay. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the complimentary breakfast was great. The entire Inn has a relaxed but elegant feeling to it.

Loved all the staff, the unique and beautifully restored building, accomodations, and breakfast. Price was great too. Five star all the way. Also in a great location. There were lots of small touches that showed how much care was taken to make it special.
