Nice clean chalets. Proprietor was very helpful and accommodating when we cut our visit short due to weather. They raise sled dogs and I went into the kennels with the staff to enjoy visiting with the dogs who are all very friendly and happy to have visitors. Chalets are just out of town but within walking distance if you don't... More

We stayed in a beautifully refurbished, full kitchen cabin. The cabins are heated by a central hot water heating system and has in-floor heating. The internet worked fine for e-mail and lite surfing. Interesting note........ This cabin, "Sunrise" was moved from the town of Inuvik and was originally the home of popular Inuit artist, Mona Thrasher, of "Igloo Church" fame.... More

When exploring a way to see the Arctic we stumbled upon Judi and Olaf's Arctic Chalets and they told us about the package they had which included being picked up in Dawson City and having a guided tour of the Dempster, a few days in Inuvik at their chalets with a flight to Tuk on the Beaufort Sea, then a... We stayed at the Arctic Chalet and did the Dempster highway tour package. Overall we were satisfied. Judi was accommodating and helpful during our stay and Olav gave a very good tour of the Dempster highway.

When we looked at getting a cabin rental, we didn't realize the cabin was a shared cabin. The internet was the biggest sore point. You could only log in with one device at a time and it was very very limited. There were two smaller beds, and the bathroom was a bit strange. The showers were ugly and the sink... More

An exact description of our cabins, cabin units and breakfast is offered on our web site. Unfortunately the internet service is very expensive in Inuvik, but our daily quota for each room is enough for most people's requirement to keep in touch with family and friends through email. More

Arctic Chalet is about one mile out of town, our cabin (No.1)was facing a small lake and dog kennels. There were about forty beautiful white huskies, they did bark once or twice during the night but didn't bother us at all. There is a trail to another lake, beautiful scenery but a lot of mosquitos. Wifi is very limited, I... More

Our WIFI is limited due to the high cost of internet in Inuvik, but we are open to giving our guests in a double room a second pass code if they need more internet. We are trying to keep our room rates as reasonable as possible and for most guests our daily quota is plenty for communications with family and... More

This is one of our biggest, recent disappointment. We were convinced months ago, by the owner, Judi, to take the "Dempster Highway package", which is not cheap, and includes the road from Dawson to Inuvik, plus a tour to Tukyoktuk, and a few extras. We were picked up in Dawson City by Olav, Judi's husband, and he deserves the two... More

Thank you so much for your good comments about your Dempster Highway tour with Olav. We really appreciate that feedback. Unfortunately there was a miscommunication regarding your accommodations. On our web site there is a detailed description of the various accommodation possibilities that we offer and details about the breakfast foods. I think this misunderstanding might have been avoided had... More

We've just spent 3 nights here (Eagle Cabin - cozy, warm, and spacious) and highly recommend staying at Arctic Chalet. If you like log cabins, privacy, closeness to the city, excursions, meeting interesting people, and seeing beautiful Husky dogs, this is the place for you. My wife and I and our 5 children will miss this place. It beats staying... More

Thank you for your comments. Unfortunately our grounds were not as clean and tidy as we would like due to the summer renovations and work that had to be done on several of our cabins.
