pros: Excellent service and meticulously kept; beautiful vistas from certain rooms. cons: For all the "old world charm" the exterior possesses, its interior with "faux antique" or "vintage" pieces certainly disappoints. Normally this would not be a concern but with the premium price tag commanded, one certainly expects a level of finishing that justifies the price. The continental breakfast left... More

Pros:It's a nice old house for about 100 years, inside was very clean and staff were very friendly. Cons: I give this review based on the price we paid, which was the same (if not more) as a solid 4 start hotel in Sydney, NS, Lieverpool NS, Halifax NS. So just bear in mind of this. 1) No elevator/lift, so... More

The inn is charming, the location is very picturesque, the room and bathroom was clean, the room nicely furnished and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was a very ample 'continental' style with cereals, juice, yogurt, breads, bagels, boiled eggs, tea/coffee. We had only one night to spend here but it's a very convenient spot to take in the numerous ceilidhs,... More

We stayed at this "Beautiful Country Inn" on Sept 5th. We were blown away by the level of service provided by the lady on front desk. Due to a local event, we were delayed and were unable to make it to the Inn, before their 9 pm check-in deadline. She met us at a local resturant and dropped off our... More

We had a very large room on the first floor of this gorgeous old inn. Each of the people who worked there was courteous, warm and accommodating. I would go back in a heartbeat. It is furnished with genuine antiques and antique replicas. The breakfast room is bright, spacious and provides options for couples or larger groups. It is near... More

My husband and I stayed while visiting Mabou. Good location, nice clean place with good amenities & classic antique furnishings. Met several nice folks from USA during our stay. The B&B staff was friendly and very accommodating. Buffet breakfasts made a good start to each day.

My husband and I enjoyed two nights at this charming inn. Our second floor suite was spacious with a sitting room and separate bedroom with a queen size bed. Beautiful ocean views from both the bedroom and sitting room. Breakfast choices were ample with boiled eggs, blueberry biscuits, cereal, yogurt, toast, fresh fruit, and juices. Coffee not as strong as... More

The staff at Hillcrest is amazing (same goes for the Hebridean, since they are owned by the same people) and very friendly. They treated us like their own family and provided us with all kinds of extras: use of their fridge/freezer, use of their air mattress, and on and on. The breakfast was delicious and included all kinds of homemade... More

We had a good two night stay at Hillcrest Hall Country Inn during Celtic Colours last fall. The breakfast selection was good, and the oatcakes were outstanding. The room was comfortable and clean, the location is lovely. Overall it was a good value and I would recommend it to others.

Spent a weekend at the Hillcrest during our aunts 100th birthday. Inn was lovely well decorated and cosy. Staff could not have been better. We will be back and would recommend it to all. Also a great continental breakfast - biscuits were awesome!
