This is a hundred year old house full of modern conveniences and comfort. Rooms are spacious and fully equipped including big comfortable beds The intimate Dining Room serves hot breakfast (included in rate) and Dinner prepared and cooked to perfection. With only 10 rooms you can be assured of both a quiet experience and excellent service.

Picturesque inn on a hill just above the tiny town. Our room, number 4, was very large as was the bathroom. Comfortable sitting area. Very tiny tv which would not usually be an issue except that we wanted to watch the Olympics. Toilet seat was loose and shower head leaked so much there was not sufficient pressure for a good... This is our fourth time staying here over many years. And the quality of service and experience is always top notch. Rooms are huge and well appointed - larger rooms on second floor but all very comfortable. Sprawling grounds and large gardens- flowers, vegetables and herbs. Highly recommend the culinary package - two amazing dinners - one with Nova Scotia... More

We stayed 2 nights at this beautiful Inn in the quaint village of Guysborough. The rooms are large and well appointed. We enjoyed a glass of wine while sitting on the veranda overlooking the grounds and hills. We ate in the dining room both nights and the food was very good but the menu is limited and was the same... We spent a night here (August 2nd) on our way to the Cabot Trail. It's a lovely old home high on a hill overlooking the harbour and neighbouring historic church. Guysborough itself is not exactly as advertised - much smaller than I expected with a single shop and a couple of restaurants, near the harbour. We also thought the claim... More

Second time posting as Des Barres had my first post removed because were afraid of people finding out the truth. I have stayed at multiple B&Bs throughout Nova Scotia and PEI, and all have had spectacular hot full breakfasts. This place promised that, and we paid for it, but we ended up with cereal, juice, soggy toast and weak coffee.... More

We stumbled onto this inn while trying to find a hotel online to stay at in Antigonish. It was an extra drive off our path but it was worth it. We stayed in the Williams Room on the 2nd floor and it had lots of charm and ambiance. With a little effort this inn could be a magical place (the... More

Stayed in Tory room on top (3rd) floor. Although no elevator, not a problem because climbing the stairs to such a grand pastoral view with perfect linens on comfy beds made it worth it. Staff is more than accomodating and do double duty by assisting in the kitchen or serving meals. Bonnie's outgoing personality with just the right touch of... More

This Bed & breakfast in a remote lovely setting with friendly service was a great experience on the Eastshore. The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. The Breakfast was wonderful. But Dinner was our highlight: A very good meal with attentive service in a wonderful setting.
