My wife, daughters ages 12 and 10, and I visited the Glenora Inn for both a tour and lunch. This review covers both. For a nice afternoon you can pair this attraction with a visit to Inverness Beach. We had lunch at the pub. The pub offers upscale Nova Scotia pub fare. I had salt cod cakes, which I had... More

The Glenora Distillery is just off the Cabot Trail, so if you are doing the trail this is a great place to stop and explore the area - the Inn and Restaurant were built to support the distillery while it was maturing its first batches of whiskey - they are now selling their first 25 year old scotch, so this... Glenora Inn & Distillery is a great home base for exploring the northern reaches of Cape Breton Island. If you travel a few miles north you can pick up the famed Cabot Trail, which you can easily make the circuit in a day and return to the inn for an extraordinary dinner. The things that are important: Cleanliness and hospitality... More

Not much to say but to mention two things: the accomodation was a little to old fashioned for the price. I mean, it's a nice thing to spend a night at the distillery, but please.. 200$ p.p.? The tour was nice and the music at the restaurant even more.

What lovely grounds and quite an informative tour! We made the last tour of the day, which includes a taste of the product at the end. Smooth as silk, but the cost of the bottle a bit dear if you are not a big scotch drinker, which makes that tour sample well worth the cost of the tour! I wish... More

We visited the distillery in the morning, returning later in the afternoon for lunch and music. The lobster salad and blueberry, crab apple, and scotch sorbet did not disappoint! I see why this restaurant is one of the top 100 restaurants in Canada. Wish we had stayed there in one of the chalets. A jewel of Cape Breton!

We came up to play the 2 Cabot's and settled at this quant hotel and distillery for 2 nights - rooms are kind of rustic but bar area was fantastic - we ate here 2 suppers, 1 lunch and and 1 breakfast. Our hostess was a local gal named Bertha who was utterly fantastic as she took care of us... More

We arrived at the distillery 4 minutes to five. We just made the last tour of the day. Although the tour was short on distance, it was long on history. Our tour guide was a wealth of knowledge and had a good bit of whit as well. At the end of the tour we were provided a sample of their... More

Stayed in the cabins July 2016- they are beautiful! Would definitely recommend. Two pieces of feedback for Glenora, though: (1) There was one garbage bin and one refundable bin in the cabin. There should have also been one bin for recyclables (at least for plastics, since paper products could technically be burned in the cabin's woodstove). Paper and plastic do... More

It's hard to remember when my expectations are achieved and in some regards surpassed. From my children's meals to my wife's the creativity and quality was above par for sure. I tasted the halibut and as I took my first bite I realized this is the best quality fish I had in a really long time. The meals were so... More
