My family and I stopped by the distillery for a tasting and server Howeverack by how beautiful the grounds were. The gift shop is cute with some little trinkets. We did the flight of 5 tasting and it was fun, but I wished we had gotten more information on the whiskeys. Our server did briefly explain each whisky and gave us a sheet, I was just more interested in the distilling process. However, that was our fault to some extent for not taking the tour. Would recommend!

We stayed in The Inn (main building) for four days in August. It was really lovely. The rooms are clean - not super luxurious but other than Cabot Links I suspect this is the nicest hotel in the area. We ate at the pub several times and food was great. The only room for improvement from my perspective is the beds - we found them quite uncomfortable, but everyone has their own taste! While we were there, we were advised not to the drink the tap water as there is some sort of bacterial contamination. Several in our group were not warned about this at check in (we were) and only saw the sign after they'd gulped down several glasses. It's a shame and hopefully something that gets sorted out soon. All in all, highly recommend and we will plan to go back.

Thank you for staying with us. I'm sorry this happened during your stay. The problem was that our chlorination line that treats the Well needed replacing, and when using the water for commercial consumption it needs (by law) to be chlorinated. I'm happy to share that it has been fixed. I'm happy you otherwise enjoyed your time here at Glenora and we look very forward to having you return. Thanks again, Bertha.

We just had a great meal at the Distillery. The food was ok and average pricing but the grounds, patio, service and music made it well worth the visit. Would definitely recommend if you’re on the area. I think we would look into staying here next time.

We went for a distillery tour yesterday and it was informative. It was 20 minutes which was a good length but there were so many people we didn’t all fit and it was kind of hard to hear at parts. We tasted ten year old whisky which was fun. Nice gift shop too.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m happy to hear you enjoyed your tour. I understand with the high volume of visitors that the intimacy of the tour can be lost. For that I am sorry. We will look at ways to manage this. I appreciate you taking the time to write a review. Bertha.

On our trip we also have made a stop-over at the “Glenora Inn & Distillery”, who seems to be the first single malt whisky distillery of North America. In the early 1800’s, Scottish immigrants had decided to settle on Cape Breton Island. This because it was a look a like of the Highlands and islands of Scotland. But with them they also had brought many traditions and secrets with them and one of them was the making of a spirited whisky, produced in the traditional method using only three ingredients: barley, yeast, and water. The visit is consisting out of a guided tour into the distillery, and a taste of one of the whiskys, after this short but interesting visit, you are able to have diner in the restaurant from the distillery. We have taken into the restaurant a plate prepared with the whisky, but the plate was to salty and no taste of the whisky. As conclusion we can say the visit was interesting, the restaurant was not so good, but to get the taste of everyone is difficult,
