Hadn't planned on stopping in Louisbourg but it happened. Stopped at the Fortress Inn and was pleasantly surprised. It feels and looks like it's been recently renovated. Very clean and wonderful beds and linens. The gentleman on the desk could have smiled though. Overall good experience 🇨🇦
Thank goodness this was only a one night stay. The bathroom had busted tiles and was discoloured. You had to run the hot water for a bit to get hot water. The restaurant onsite doesn't open til 5pm. The room was cold and damp. The WIFI was non exist. The staff were very friendly and great to chat with.
The Fortress Inn Louisbourg is nothing fancy, but it is worth the little money it costs to stay considering its quick drive into Sydney. Floors creek, taps are reversed, but that's really all the negative I can say about my stay, other than there was no Coffee machine, fridge or microwave. That was not a big problem for a one night stay. The overall unit was clean, bed was firm but clean, heat worked well and AC as well worked. The water pressure was insane at this motel ( it was really, really good ). My travelmates and I all agreed it was worth staying for the money paid. The rooms are a bit outdated and the Wifi is a bit weak but you get what you pay for in a Motel. I would stay here again 100% specially if I had a microwave and fridge.
This "inn" is motel-style so you can drive up to your door. It is very neat and clean and has the usual TV (limited channels), but no phone. Perhaps that is the way we are going nowadays with everyone having a mobile, but it is inconvenient when you want to phone another room. Breakfast was good, as advertised 'continental'. It made for a good night's rest after a day of driving, but I would look for somewhere else if you are stopping for more than one night.
Old motel charging $79 per night. At that price you can’t expect much. But the room smelled mouldy/musty and really bothered us. The Mattress was hard as a board. Hot And cold taps were backward. Bedding was fresh and clean. For a quick night’s sleep it was okay if you didn’t mind the smell
