Let me start this review with the pros: location is great: campground is on the water although the sites are not. Also, Cheticamp (nearby) is right on the Cabot Trail, close to some of the best scenery of all of the trail, and close to the (deservedly) famous Skyline Trail. One can find all necessities in Cheticamp, which is not... More

We passed here right before season started. Campground was already open, but mostly seasonal trailers. They made us pay the full amount even though internet was not yet connected. Some deserted trailers had garbage lying around, their private beach seemed to be 'payable' (although could have been for visitors only) Useful if you want an early visit to the skyline... More

Cheticamp is just outside the Highlands Park, and this campground is just outside of Cheticamp on a fairly sheltered bay. Just a short walk to the ocean where you can go for a long walk on the beach. (We didn't go for a swim, as the water was too cold for us.) It's a bit of an older campground. Could... More

Expensive for the average site it offers. At least it's not a grassy parking lot, like many campgrounds in the east. The only thing that makes it memorable is the access to the private beach, which is somewhat rocky.

After driving 8 hours only to find out that Cape Breton Highlands National Park Cheticamp campground was closed, we had no choice but to camp here for 2 nights ( I really didn't feel like tearing down after 1 night ) Well......most sites seem to be for the seasonal camper ( you could tell by the fake lite up palm... My husband and I decided to stay in Cheticamp and we're advised of this campground. We enjoyed it to the fullest and the staff was very friendly and eager to help. We were offered a tenting site but preferred another which they accommodated us no problem. We mentioned to the reception desk ( Ronnie) very nice and courteous person, that... More

We have camped around NS, NB and PEI a lot and generally choose commercial campgrounds for the amenities for our children who are 7 & 8. I am tempted to give a poor review of this campground because we don't want it to get too popular! Wonderful staff checking in and each time we've been to the store. Prices are... More

Most sites are fairly tight. Most are not level. Roads in the campground are tight. WiFi is expensive ($6 per device per day) and is not reliable. Very little in the camp store. But the location is great.

The weather didn't facilitate the full enjoyment of the beach but other than that, this review is based on everything else Labour Day weekend 2014. We went to this campground with an open mind after reading various mixed reviews. Most of the negative reviews are justified. But I did find the staff I interacted with to be very friendly and... My wife and two kids have been coming here for the past 5 years and we LOVE the property but after this experience we are done with this place. I booked trailer #146 as I have done in the past. Upon arrival which went smoothly we went to our trailer and started to enter the trailer but were greeted by... More
