We wanted somewhere to stay after driving from Sydney after our ferry trip back from Newfoundland. This was perfect. It is a very quaint motel. I sent an email to inquire about a reservation as they don't make them online and within a few hours received a call from the owner. He was very nice and I enjoyed speaking with him. He was the one that checked us in months later when we had our trip. We stayed in room 6. IT had two twins. The sheets were blue and the towels striped and it felt like we were staying to our grandparents which was just fine. The view of the lake behind us was beautiful and the sunset was awesome. The owner gave us a recommendation for our dinner and he was correct! It's not the Four Seasons so if you are looking for that then dont stay here, If you want a perfect location at the very beginning of Cabot Trail than this is the place for you And it was VERY clean and did not smell at all. It smelled clean and fresh!!!!

Good place to stay when traveling the Cabot Trail. The rooms are a little dated, but very nice, very clean, and comfortable. It is perfectly located at the beginning, or end or the trail, depending on which way you are going, and the view is just incredible! Doug & his wife are very friendly and accommodating. The Lobster Gallery restaurant next door is very convenient and very good too!

We had a great time at this very quaint, quiet with gorgeous views. Check in was quick and easy. Had a great conversation during this process. Room was very pleasant, view was awesome and with the restaurant next door was very convenient. We tried mussels for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed them. The room VERY clean and comfortable.

We stayed for one night at this motel. We found our check in quick and typically Cape Breton friendly. Our rooms were spotless and our view of St Anne's Bay didnt disappoint. We picked the best time to visit and attend the Kitchen Fest at the Gaelic College!! There is no air co conditioning in the rooms but the fresh breeze of the bay and a fan in our rooms was all we needed. Stay here the view is worth the price we relaxed on lawn chairs watching the fish jump and enjoyed the view.

The View!!! Wow - absolutely beautiful. Our room was well appointed and spotlessly clean. The bed was comfy and there was a fridge as well as a full-sized coffee pot with coffee which was appreciated before our long day on the Cabot Trail. This motel is perfectly located and - that view! There was also the Lobster Galley restaurant next door where we enjoyed a lovely dinner.
