We spend a week in July 2016 in a cottage at the Broadwater Inn. The cottage was clean, comfortable and cozy. It also had a beautiful view from the deck of the garden, nearby hills and water. John, Dorothy and staff were very enjoyable. We hope to spend some time in this lovely and casual location next summer and highly... More

We stayed at the Broadwater Inn in Baddeck recently. It was just perfect. John, the owner, was waiting for us and quickly ushered us into the sitting area on the main floor and told us everything we need to know about the area. He is a great source of information which we took to heart. The inn is lovely with a great... More

IWe were late for check-in as a moose on the highway kept us occupied longer than expected, not to worry innkeeper John, had left details about the room and where to go. We stayed in the Upperfloor suite, a bit too big for a couple as its a two bed appartment, but the views of the sea/ lake are great... More

We stayed in Arun Bute which is a very comfortable and well appointed cottage. It had everything including a hot tub! The cottage is on the road that runs by the lake and is about 3km from town .It is alsoa away from the inn proper and very private. The closeness of the road maybe a concern for some but not... The accommodation was very nice, the view was great, but just a couple of things made what might have been a very fine experience, an experience that was lacking. Two lamps did not work, there was no face tissue there, no tea bags, coffee but no tea. It would not take much to remedy this, but I guess it is... More

Broadwater is historic, associated with Alexander Graham Bell, as is this whole old resort village. Innkeeper John's got six rooms in the big house and as many cottages off to the side good for families. There's brilliant blue water across the road. A natural-born host, John chats up everybody, whether he likes you or not, every morning. His advice about... More

This is a beautiful house set slightly out of Baddeck in stunning gardens with great views over the lake. The owner was very welcoming and his love of the area was obvious as he shared his local knowledge around the breakfast table When planning our trip we spoke with John, the owner, who suggested we stay in the central bedroom... Our 2-night stay at the Baycroft cottage, which is part of the Broadwater Inn and Cottages, was absolutely fantastic. It was just newly renovated and was beyond our expectations. Large windows and patio doors in the living room allow you to sit inside and view Beddeck Bay or if it's warm and sunny outside, you can enjoy the view from... More

We choose the Broadwater Inn to celebrate my sister's "significant birthday" while visiting Cape Breton. The host, John, is a wealth of information and knowledge about the region. We took him up on all his suggestions over the four days we were guests and were never disappointed. We had a cabin and a single suite, both with great sunrise views... More

My husband and I went on a 10-day east coast road trip and spent our first night in Baddeck. Almost immediately upon arriving, we realized that the one night we had planned to stay wasn't going to be enough. It is a beautiful property and we were given great service and a delicious breakfast in the morning. Close to the... More
