I had made reservations for this trip on short notice, so this was one of the few hotels available. The room was nice, big bed, nice bathroom and clean overall. The decor a bit old fashioned, even if it is new. Must be catering to an older crowd with the barkalounger chair in the room. There was definitely an issue...

Our room was beautiful, spacious and spotless. There was even a gas fireplace. We called the front desk to say that we couldn't turn it on and a staff member came immediately and within minutes the room was toasty.

The hotel is set in a nice and quiet location, lovely garden, with a view of the water from some rooms. Our room was quiet, very comfortable and homey, something you appreciate when you are on the road for a while in rooms that all look alike. The bed was extremely comfortable, good-size bathroom with a nightlight (great!) Breakfast was...

The hotel does not have the bandwidth to advertise they have WiFi in the rooms. Suggestions that one go to the lobby to use WiFi are pointless as it did not work there either and the staff freely admitted as much. It is not an issue of remoteness of the location - the WiFi works between 1 and 5 in...

We stayed here for two nights and also ate in the restaurant, which was very pleasant, with good, hearty food. On our first night, there was a general black-out in a large part of Cape Breton Island, but the staff managed very well and did their best to help patrons, providing torches etc, information and reassurances. The gas pilot light...

Beautiful grounds. Room was lovely. Very clean. We were on the first floor. I wasn't comfortable keeping the curtains open because there weren't any sheers and someone could look straight in. I enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant.

Beautiful planting a around a lovely white and red inn. The rooms are attractively decorated. The inn is close enough to town to easily walk in. We walked in for dinner on our first night. The service was also courteous and prompt.

We arrived here on a Caravan bus tour. Rooms were excellent and the staff was very pleasant. Town and waterfront are within a short walk. Food was good although our breakfasts were of limited choices. Nice patio for drinks in the evening. Would certainly stay here again if in the area.

I had a tough time with this review and couldn’t figure out why until a week or so after our stay. See my last sentence for why I feel that way. In the meantime… Very bucolic setting on a hill with well kept grounds, we were very impressed as we drove in. Plenty of parking, gardens with a patio seating...

Driving up to the lush lawn, colorful gardens, and stately white building, I expected more. The room I stayed in, in an out building, was dark and dowdy. I had the feeling that most of the occupants were elderly...in fact a busload of elderly tourists arrived in our parking lot at the same time. However, It was clean and a...
