We stayed here for two night so we could travel the Cabot Trail. The hotel was lovely, grounds well kept, beautiful flowers, view of the Bras Dor Lakes, peaceful. The room was comfortable and super clean. The air conditioners are noisy so I did not use mine, beautiful breeze anyway. Breakfast was ok, not a lot of healthy selections, I... More

Outside the property is outstanding. The owners need to now invest in some room updates. It has been 35 years after all. Bathroom was supremely out dated. No counter space, old worn out faucet, old orange lino, yellow vanity. Tub has been refinished in white with original fixtures. Shower temp varies greatly. Two twin beds, small with uncooperative sheets and... More

We had a marvellous stay in Baddeck, a wonderful wee place. Our stay was greatly enhanced through staying in the Ceilidh Country Lodge. Great room with a view over Lake Bras d'Or, lovely breakfast room with a lovely breakfast hosted by Harry and Audrey and their ever friendly crew. Tours around the Cabot Trail available and thoroughly enjoyable. Over the... More

When we started out planning our first trip to Cape Breton we started by looking for what we wanted to do, and then looked to find a place that would support our journey. Since we were planning on doing things on both the east and west coast, so Baddeck seemed like the right place to be. Once we settled on... More

This is a very nice motel-like lodge in a scenic town on the Cabot Trail. Since we were there in early June, the rush of tourists had not yet begun. In fact, there were only a few rooms occupied during our 3 day stay. Having said that, the management of the lodge could not have been warmer and more friendly.... More

Motel room was basic, adequate and pretty much what you find unless you want to pay big bucks. The staff was delightful. Breakfast was in the lovely old main house and it felt like a Bed & Breakfast meal. Not that it was an individually cooked meal but there were homemade muffins along with all the other buffet foods. It... More

My wife and I stayed at Ceilidh Country Lodge during a cross-country car trip, and this may have been our very favourite lodging of the entire trip. The lodge is older and by no means luxurious, but everything is clean and well-maintained. Décor in the main building (including the restaurant) makes charming use of Cape Breton instruments – and in... More

I stayed here recently with 10 of my students from Scotland. The rooms were fine, basic enough but exactly what I expected for the price. Audrey and Harry who run the Ceilidh Lodge were so welcoming. The service we received was fantastic. They were such lovely people, and very kind to my teenage students. Any time I emailed with questions... More

We spent one night here in August 2015 as we toured the Cabot Trail. We had stayed before at the sister property, the Inverary Inn and Resort, but this time wanted a slightly less expensive stay as we required two rooms. Our reservation was as planned, and both rooms were in great shape. It was an incredibly hot and humid... More

The reception and breakfast area is in a nice old building set in lovely gardens. Rooms are in motel blocks around the grounds. Our room was small, but fine with 2 beds. You could only view the tv from one bed. We arrived before check-in and they did their best to get us in a bit early
