Location, Location < Location. This is the place. Right on BADDECK BAY. Very Nice Manicured grounds. Has a convention Centre, Indoor Pool in its own building ,On Site Restaurant that Includes order your own breakfast and good for Dinner as well. You can overlook small Marina with Dinner Menu is Varied. The Rooms are Tired and Need To BE UPDATED, They are in the process of upgrading one building currently. Nice patio area with comfy chairs, and kayak and canoe rentals. Also has an outdoor Wedding Area.

Excellent stay, the room was clean and cozy. The view down by the water was lovely. The staff were friendly. The included breakfast was fantastic! All of the basics offered in the room. Definitely felt welcomed and comfortable and the grounds were well kept and beautiful to walk through. I'd love to stay again!

Stayed at the resort on 16th /17th October 2021. Room in the Old Barn was a bit dated. Restaurant below expectations. Had to stand outside in a queue, on a cold evening, for 20 minutes to get in on first evening. They don't take reservations. Menu very restricted and poor quality. Service was also poor. We ate out on the second evening. Had to queue outside for breakfast.on both mornings. Food was average. Serving staff were better at breakfast. Unlikely to stay at this resort again.

This is an older, somewhat dated resort, but the grounds around the Bras d’Or Lakes are truly beautiful, reflective of the splendor of Cape Breton Island, impeccable landscaping, well-maintained flower beds, hedges and grass, and direct access to the shore of the lake and a small marina area. The scenery overcomes the rustic nature of the resort itself. I stayed in Argyle Hall which offered a relatively small room with a view of the parking lot (would have much preferred to face the lake), but the room was clean, comfortable and functional. The Lakeside Restaurant at the resort was great – very generous servings and delicious seafood, no complaints!

Lovely location, folks were friendly, however chef needs to step up to the spice cabinet. Felt bad for the server as the kitchen let her down. Chowder must have been sitting for a while; the flavour cooked right out of shellfish - such a shame as it was a hearty portion. Same could be said about the seafood Mac and bris. Veg was served cool as well. So freshness is a real question mark. Not worth the money spent; we have had better 1000 miles from the ocean. Perhaps a lack of passion for us tourists.
