Booked this motel for a few days while in Baddeck so we could see the Cabot Trail and local sights an relax. Check-in was a bit awkward. The clerk was very unprofessional and made us wait while she discussed a work schedule discrepancy with one of the house keeping staff. Something we all felt was personal and also should have waited until we were checked in. Rooms are clean but furnished with very old 70's, torn and delapitated furniture. Bed was fair, but not the best I've slept on. They advertise a pool but it was cold and needed cleaning. The property has a large shoreline on Bras de'Or Lake but no sand for a beach area to enjoy the water. They have canoes, but apparently no liability insurance so they could not be used. What was to be a relaxing few days, was spent looking for things to do. The restaurant is open for breakfast until 10:00 by the information book in the room but, as we found out the hard way, is only open until 9:30! Dinner in the restaurant was ok, but not great and pricey, so we went out most nights for supper. Yet another inconvenience. They do have laundry facilities on site which was a definite plus. All in all not our worst experience but next year we know there is better for less just a few miles down the road. If they wish to continue as a "single night stay motel", they are on the right track. If they want to be recommended as a longer stay and keep return customers, they'll need to kick it up a notch. It wouldn't take much, so hopefully they sort things out.

We spent 2 nights in this lovely resort. The rooms were clean, and comfortable. The view of the lake was amazing, and from every room. The family who own this place couldn't be more charming and helpful. We were there for Canada Day and on a bus tour, so they even made a Canada Day cake for all of us. Would recommend this place for anyone travelling in this beautiful part of our country. Everyone from small children, to seniors like ourselves, even some bikers enjoyed the meals in the dining room overlooking the lake as well.

What a lovely location of this lodge, right on the lakeside. Owners were very accommodating, immediately helped with a ramp for my parent who has trouble climbing. Very well set up comfortable rooms. Highly recommend

We were a family group from age 20 to 88 and we were all impressed by the host and his family/staff. All were pleasant and helpful. Very clean and nice location. Very good breakfast included. Very good value. We will stay again if we are staying in that area.

We stayed overnight in Baddeck and there were many options for places to stay. We chose this for price with breakfast included which made it a good value. The rooms were very clean and looked updated. My only complaint is that the walls are thin and there is a shared microwave in the hall that quests were using and it was beeping with every button push pretty often until midnight and again early in the morning at around 6:30. There have coin laundry which we used after over a week on the road which was appreciated and in good working condition. There was a full buffet breakfast of eggs, sausage, homefries as well as cereal, juice, coffee, tea etc which is included. Everyone was very nice.
