The room was spotless and the beds were extremely comfortable. Loved the four small pillows on the beds which were so soft and comfortable. The ladies at the front desk were just sweet. Room service was prompt and the food was delicious. What a good first or last impression of Newfoundland hospitality! Would definitely recommend.

LOCATION: We had a GPS and I am glad we did -- it was a bit hard to locate. It did NOT look like the photo posted on the official hotel website. Good place to stay before or after ferry from North Sydney. Pretty location. Near Tim Horton's and gas stations. CHECK IN: Smooth. Friendly staff. Be sure to check...

A short 5 minutes from ferry terminal the Hotel Port aux Basques is conveniently located. Room was clean and had bar fridge and free wifi. Although exactly as described, this hotel was the most mainland of any we visited on the island. No small talk or friendly banter here. When we stayed there was a boil water advisory--potable water was...

The room is adequate but nothing fancy. Problem for me was no elevator and they booked me on the second floor. This is no good when you have mobility problems. The restaurant seemed a bit expensive do we found a family restaurant - Alma's - at the mall a block away.

We stayed here one night, two rooms, on the second floor! A great hotel, very clean and updated! Hotel staff was very friendly and efficient at the front desk! The air conditioner worked great (this was a problem at other hotels we stayed at) so this was a welcome change! Beds comfortable, bathroom well stocked! Really there was nothing to...

We checked into this hotel after being on the ferry from Nova Scotia. The hotel is 2 minutes away from the ferry terminal. Upon check in we went up to our room. Nice room. Super clean. Along with the shampoo and soap they left an eye makeup remover wipe. (I thought that was great). We were on the 2nd floor....

Rooms are clean and adequate for overnight stay waiting for the ferry. We stayed there altogether 4 times. All as expected except the last one about a month ago which was not pleasant. When we checked in that evening, there was a constant noise from kind of motor, louder than our room air conditioner. I went out to check where...

Very close to the ferry terminal. Staff was friendly at check-in. Room was clean and comfortable. There is a restaurant in the hotel (you have to pay for breakfast). Getting a room on the first floor is nice if you have a lot of luggage, so that you don't have to carry it up the stairs (I don't think there...

We picked this hotel because it was close to the Marine Atlantic Ferry. Built in the 1960's it shows its age, and it looked more like an old fashioned public housing unit. They have tried to modernize and the lobby was quite nice and the rooms acceptable. But though the sign said "quiet time 1030pm" we were kept awake by...

this is a popular lay-over for the ferry. it's minutes away from the dock. we did not try the restaurant & there is also a bar. the room is clean, but over-all feel it's that it's old & dreary. there is no elevator but the check in folks were able to put us on a 1st floor room.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I take these comments as being constructive. We just renovated the lobby with new furniture and flooring. Also the rooms were completed with new mattress and bedding. We strive to ensure that our customers expectations are met. Thank you
