This is my second review of St Christophers. I was recently storm stayed (on business) at the hotel long along with with families attending a hockey tournament. ...and then the power went out all over town (okay except Tim’s hmmmmm). The staff went over the top to do what

Thanks for your kind words. We try very hard to accommodate our guests and their needs and sometimes mother nature will throw us a curve ball and we try to deal with the situation the best we can. The prolong power outage was definitely one of those times. We look forward to seeing you again.

I cannot express the level of dissatisfaction that we experienced this past weekend at this hotel. We were travelling with our son's hockey team of approximately 50 people including players, parents and siblings. The rate we were given was $ 95.99 per night. Upon arriving for

I can't begin to describe how disappointing and upsetting it is to read these comments because of a lengthily power outage and a four day storm that was beyond our control. We work hard to ensure our guest have a pleasant stay. We held no one here against their will with no power they could have left and we could have (like every other business shut down but we didn't) maybe next time it would be better if we did. Yes, not all situations were handled with good customer service because the hotel has a overstock supply of amenities and in the case where one front desk staff did not want to retrieve these items for guest , it should not reflect badly on all staff. This staff person has been reprimanded according to company policy. Housekeeping did check on rooms and most opted not to have any housekeeping done. Lights were placed in the stairwells, but when staff went to ensure they were still working they came to find that many has disappeared. Like any place you can't cook without electricity.Staff did prepare what they could and placed items in the dining room for guest free of charge. Some guest availed of this while others didn't and once power was restored to other parts of town guest went out to restaurants to eat. The restaurant was fully functioning once power was restored for the normal operating hours. Our fire system is designed when activated to tell what area set if off. An investigation was done and discovered it was a heater that was turned all the way up and got too hot on the second floor. There are emergency procedures for guest to follow printed and placed on the back of each room door in the case of a fire alarm and guest should evacuate the building using these directions and proceed to the assembly area sign at the front of the hotel.

We stayed here twice in 2018 (arriving in Newfoundland by ferry, and before departure back to Cape Breton), and are downgrading our previous 4 rating to a 3 this time around. Location is 3 minutes from the ferry terminal - ideal. Rooms are clean, many with views of the harbor,

Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your recent stay at St Christopher's Hotel. In the off season it's very hard to determine how many people will arrive at the front desk from the ferry without reservations. This normally only happens if the ferry is delayed getting in on time. Just to confirm your last comment, the owners of this hotel do not run the shallow bay hotel/motel, not sure where you got that information from.

After a long ferry ride into town, I was eager for a place to sleep and to relax. It was a hotel like any other. Nothing really exceptional about it. Service was good and as quick as it can be with a ferry load of passengers attempting to all check in at once. I stayed in a

Lovely room, clean and modern, even though I stayed in the pet section because I had a dog. Very nice restaurant, great food. The staff were great, especially Anita, who was so very helpful. I’d definitely stay there again.

Is there an elevator if you have three floors? I have trouble with stairs (arthritis)
Yes, and it worked well when we were there and it is a good size.

Yes, you have to follow the road around. However there is a secondary road that crosses an overpass about a 1/4 km from St. Christopher's Hotel. The area has a security fence around the premises. I wouldn't advise walking with luggage. Taxi cab is $7.00 from ferry Terminal to Hotel. Thank You for your inquiry.

"Choose harbor view if you can, and opt for a queen size bed. Even first floor rooms are quiet even though facing the parking lot."
"Nice views from most rooms, as far as I know."
"Front side rooms have ocean/ferry views, back side rooms have wetlands and hills views."
"Ask for rooms on higher floors if you wish to have a view of the harbour."
"Take the ferry by night and sleep while you're traveling. Add time to vacation or travel or business."
