We stayed for two nights. We had to change rooms which they warned us about ahead of time. They moved our stuff over to our new room while we were out hiking during the day. Our hosts were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. This added to the enjoyment of a wonderful trip.

What a perfect location to enjoy both Trinity and Bonavista. Beautiful comfortable rooms, delicious breakfasts especially the pancakes. Gary and his wife were very welcoming. We particularly enjoyed the evening social hour and meeting the other guests. What a lovely way to share hi-lights of the days travels.

Gary Blackmore, a 5th generation owner has completely restored and modernized this historical home. His attention to detail, characterized in the home, transferred completely to his treatment of guests. It was obvious that his objective was to be of the best service possible to us and the other guests. We accepted his invitation to come to the stately dining room... More

This beautiful and tastefully restored heritage home was a lovely spot to spend a night while visiting the Bonavista peninsula. Garry and Shelly are great hosts and made us feel welcome to share their home. All 4 rooms were booked and we enjoyed meeting the other guests at their evening get together when snacks and coffee or tea were made... More

This wonderful place is in Port Union not Bonavista! But that SHOULD NOT stop you from staying here! This is one of the best places we have ever stayed. The hosts Garry and Shelly are wonderful, what they have done to make this a warm and inviting place to stay is magnificent. They have not missed one detail, from excellent... More

Garry and Shelly are genuine warm, welcoming hosts, justifiably proud of their beautiful heritage home. The evening socials and delicious cooked breakfasts were a highlight and Shelly was kind enough to share her 5 Star Bars recipe with me. We had the Newfoundlander Suite for our 3 night stay which suited our needs perfectly. We enjoyed the little sitting area,... More

As others have said, Shelly and Gary are great hosts. They are there when you need them and provide the little extras that make it so special. Dinner recommendations were good. The evening snack is a great time to meet and talk with others. Early morning fresh coffee just outside the room was a nice treat. One of best breakfasts!... More

Shelly and Garry make the place, as is the case with most B&B's. Attentive without being intrusive. Lots of small details are taken care of before you arrive but they also adapt. As with the coffee arrangements made for an early riser and cigar smoker. Garry has deep roots in the area and Shelly is a mover and shaker in... More

Even my curmudgeonly husband succumbed to the charm of hosts Gary and Shelly at Captain Blackmore's Heritage Manor. He's not a huge B&B fan, but we stayed here as part of our hiking trip on the Bonavista peninsula. The yummy made-to-order breakfast and the evening wine and cheese shindigs were a great way to talk to the hosts and other... More

We were scheduled to visit Bonavista for a business trip mid week and were going to stay at another B&B as we had stayed before. The original B&B was closed for the winter and we were recommended to stay at the Captain Blackmore's Heritage Manor. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous and the food is to die for. Being greeted every... More
