We had a terrific time here and found Gary and Shelley to be extremely gracious and thoughtful hosts. Breakfasts were amazing, evening refreshments a very nice touch, and our room very comfortable. Port Union is a great base for exploring the Bonavista Peninsula.

Recently stayed at Captain Blackmore's for four nights. We found Garry and Stella to be very gracious hosts. The accommodation was spacious and very clean. Breakfasts, ordered the night before, were made to order and nothing was too much trouble. We found the evening "mug up" at 8:30pm gave us the opportunity to connect with other guests and share our... More

Everything that I would have raved about has been said consistently with all the reviews. Each and everything done at this beautiful b and b is done perfectly. Fresh baked goodies complimenting a breakfast made specifically as one selects, freshly ironed sheets, walking sticks to take on walks, evening tea with homemade treats, fruit and cheese .... No detail is... More

We stayed in the Daisey Kean room which is on the second floor and has a large balcony looking out to the ocean. The room was very comfortable and quiet....get the larger rooms. You must drive up to the lighthouse to see the sights and also the play down in Trinity should not be missed. Gary and Shelly did an... More

Saw this B&B on Tripadvisor and went with the recommendations and certainly not disapointed. The owners Gary and Shelly are 5th generation Blackmore owners and rebuilt this home from near collapse. Poet Union the B&B location I'd ideal for visiting Trinity to the west and Bonavista to the East. You are welcomed and feel at home as soon as you... More

Our hosts Gary and Shelly made our stay unforgettable! Spectacular turn of the century home, owned by Gary's grandfather, has been meticulously and lovingly updated by Gary and Shelly themselves. Rooms were perfection with attention to every detail, including hot coffee waiting outside our rooms every morning. Made-to-order breakfasts, helpful tips on what to see, gorgeous water views...and evening 'social... More

Highly recommended for overall excellence - one night is not enough. This B&B is open year-round. To say that the hospitality is stellar is an understatement. We arrived late and Garry called the resto up the street (great cod!) and they stayed open late to serve us - we were so grateful! Captain Blackmore's Heritage Manor B&B is lovingly restored... The current Captain Blackmore (Canadian Forces - retired) and his wife welcome you to their ocean front home. He grew up in the house and is the fifth generation to live there. The rooms and meals are excellent. One thing that we really enjoyed was the evening tea, which was served at the single, large dining room table. It was... More

We stayed for two nights in late July and couldn't have been happier with our stay in the Daisy Kean room. We spent eight nights total in Newfoundland and this was our favourite stop. The home is beautifully restored and the location was perfect for exploring the area. The views were great and the chance to sit out on a... More

This home was everything we could possibly want and then so! Gary and Shelley are so friendly and their home is beautiful! We were invited down for tea/coffee and treats at 8pm which was lovely and then the next morning each guest had a personalized breakfast prepared for them! The view is lovely too! I would love to come back!!!!
