It was a very cold 15' wet and windy afternoon when we checked in - not normal mid July weather. After just finishing a 9 day kayaking trip a few hours earlier we needed a hot shower and a good meal. We got both. Friendly check in, room was comfortable, and the restaurant attached without having to go outside in... More

My daughter + i stayed in a room with a kitchen overlooking the ocean. Had everything e needed, 2 burners to cook on, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, pots, pans, dishes, cutlery! Nice big tv, air conditioner, alarm clock, free wifi if you want. I slept in the most comfortable bed and enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the waves roll... More

Stayed in the family suite with sea view for our girl’s spa weekend. Room was a nice size, the kitchenette was stocked and more than functional, the beds were comfortable and the sea view wonderful. Front desk staff were super friendly. I would stay here again.

We stayed here for 2 nights and chose an oceanfront room as we have 2 young kids (ages 2 & 4) and wanted a separated bedroom so we could put the kids to bed easily. The setup worked out great as the bedroom had a small window and curtain which made the room quite dim by 8pm. We were able... More

Clean rooms, however the decor, and finish is quite dated, A/C unit was noisy, the linens appeared quite old and worn, and it's probably time for new mattresses. The counter-tops in the bathroom are showing their age as is the carpet in the rooms. The prices are reasonable, but with what they charge it should allow for some updating.

The rooms are super spacious and extremely clean. The restaurant has amazing food and drinks with a view to die for. It is dog friendly and very accommodating. Walking distance to all amenities, and the view from the ocean front rooms is incredible. Would stay there every time we visit the sunshine coast.

Good place, great location, great people, great view. You will be comfortable here...and close to everything Sechelt has to offer...including great food - right on site! Then, head down to the beach for a stroll! Good times!

Sechelt is an old First Nations (Aboriginal peoples) village that is now one of the two main towns on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. Indeed, the Sechelt Indian Band community is a couple of city blocks south of the Driftwood Inn. The town is on the shores of the Georgia Strait, the body of water that separates Lower Mainland... Thanks of taking the time to write such a comprehensive review. Due to the hotter summers we installed the air-conditioning a couple of years ago; the units in the standard rooms are noisier than those in the Kings and waterfronts but were the models recommended. They do provide comfort that was missing after all the trees around us were removed! More

Sechelt, Sunshine coast is a hidden treasure. The town has an old vibe to it but the scenery and the lakes and the beaches are beautiful. You can feel the magic and the history. The Inn has all your basic necessities. Pretty clean, beds are comfy.

This is a basic motor inn, on par with a Super 8 or other roadside motel for which I'd normally expect to pay well under $100 a night. For $80 or $90 the Driftwood would have been good value for money, but at over $130 it is definitely over priced. The room was clean and tidy but very basic, furnishings... More

Thank you for staying with us. We are definitely a Motor Inn but don't feel that we are charging any more than we need to. Costs are always on the increase and our rates both reflect that and are also lower or comparable to those of similar properties. More
