Love the accessibility of the lodge to the ski hill. We actually kept coming back to this resort winter and summer not only for short vacation but to celebrate special occasions. Accommodation is clean and the 2 BR is so spacious for our family of 5.
Loved the few steps to the chair lift up and then the ski in back to our place. So close to to the general store if need be. Spacious accommodations with comfy beds. Everything needed to prepare all meals was provided, even the bbq. COVID didnt allow for the hot tubs to be open but the snow conditions made up for it!
My husband and I spent a week at this resort during tight Covid restrictions. We were 100% comfortable with our stay for many reasons... The ease and security of check in/out, the cleanliness and sanitation of our suite, the lack of interaction with other guests (private entry), underground parking, proximity to walk to and enjoy nature. Communication with the resort was clear and consistent which we appreciated. The hot tubs and dressing rooms were open observing Covid safety rules, and there were times that we were the only people using them. The slopes weren't open during the week we were there, but we waked and hiked nearly every day. We especially loved the Nordic trails. On two occasions we borrowed movies from the timeshare office. They also helped get us extra kitchen equipment that was removed which made our stay super enjoyable. We also were able to skate at a nearby lake! It doesn't get more Canadian than that.…
We really enjoyed our time at Horsethief Lodge. We stayed just prior to the ski hill opening, so it was a very quiet, relaxing getaway. We were in a lower unit, which was comfortable, albeit a bit dark. The hot pools (there are 3 separate pools) at the top of the resort near the ski hills were open with a max capacity of 9 people, so we felt safe going there every day. All the properties around the ski hill are connected by stairs and pathways, so it was an easy little walk to get to the pools from our unit. Below are my pros & cons: Pros: Super helpful & friendly staff Great price Huge hot tubs Kitchen had all the utensils/dishes/appliances you'd need Wood fireplace Decent sized TV with cable Reliable wifi Underground parking Extra effort made to sanitize bedding Lots of comfortable seating in the living room The framing is made of concrete making the lower units fairly quiet Beautiful area with lots of walking paths Cons: The LED lighting in the units were super blue and made the room feel like an industrial warehouse The beds were quite firm - it might be ok for some but it was too firm for me The water pressure in the shower was just meh No curved shower curtain rods (I prefer these so the curtain doesn't touch you while in the shower) All in all, we definitely would stay at Horsethief Lodge again in the low season!…
We always find Panorama peaceful and very relaxing. Being off season the resort was very quiet and we enjoyed having the pools to ourselves for an sunny hour one of our days there. The weather was seasonal so we did more walking, opposed to hiking. It was great to see and hear the snowmaking going on the colder days! Looking forward to checking out the skiing. Trust it will be as fabulous as last year.
