The new owners are extremely friendly and accommodating. We loved the old log cabin and the location was perfect as it was a bit away from the main tourist areas, but not too far. We met some really nice people sitting around the camp fire, and had an amazing time here. Very peaceful and relaxing, perfect 'feet up' place to... More

If you, like me, like a lodge that is secluded, authentic and rustic this is the place for you. Situated along Highway 93 in the middle of Kootenay national park, about half way between Lake Louise and Radium Hot Springs, it is just about the only building you will see along that road. The place is run by new owners,... More

We LOVED our stay at this lodge - a beautiful wild location, rustic but very comfortable and private cabin that reminded me of mountain cabins from my youth, very easy access to Banff area as well as Radium Hot Springs. This was by far a standout as measured against all the other motels & private B&Bs we stayed in around... More

Remember when lodges and cabins were a standard holiday - we relived that memory at Kootenay Park Lodge over the Labour Day Weekend. Kootenay Park Lodge is nestled among towering pines and the majestic Rocky Mountains. We found it very convenient for touring Banff, Lake Louise and Radium Hot Springs - a 45 minute drive either way and even ventured... More

We stayed here for two nights in early August 2015 and had a brilliant time. The cabins are charming and, with heaters, warm and cosy too. Wonderful peaceful situation among the mountains and convenient for Banff. Great breakfasts and evening meals. Very friendly and helpful owners. Don't expect chain hotel comforts, but enjoy something that is refreshingly different and perfectly... More

Top notch lodge with top notch staff. This lodge is a must when traveling thru Kootenay Park. The rustic cabins are a thru back to what travel use to be like before people got taken in the glitz of the coperate run resorts in Banff and Lake Louise. For my money you cannot beat the personal service you get from... More

If your looking for a Holiday Inn kerp going. These rustic cabins are very cute and hold some charm. The biggest down side of the lodge area itself is the unfortunate fact that the owners are real new and haven't had the time to make any improvements. I am sure with a whole off season behind them to make improvements... More

My wife and I stayed there a few weeks ago. I forget the cabin number, but was in one of the newer ones. The new owners also showed us the older ones, and I would stay in them anytime...so rustic and peacefull. We stayed 3 nights and used the Lodge as our central position to visit the surrounding tourist places,... More

Very deceiving from what we had seen on the internet. The cabins seemed well lit and much larger from the pictures. We found they were fairly small...especially the showers. The shower also ran out of hot water while my wife was in the shower. I will also let you know she was showering for no longer than five minutes. After... More

Cons: Misleading internet photos. These cabins are circa 1940. Old and decrepit, screen missing on front window, hot room because electric heater was left on and no fans available. Dark with dim lights, exposed wiring, overloaded extension cords, many fire and electric code violations. Shower is literally 2 ft. X 3 ft. and dirty w/o soap tray. Wet bar sink... More
