It is hard to believe that one year ago this little motel was under water. In the year since, Daniel and his family have transformed this modest little property into a serene, tastefully decorated and affordable option for short or longer term travel. We stayed for five nights in a double queen suite that opened onto a lush river shore lawn. With soft blue walls, craftsman style moldings and driftwood plank composite flooring, it felt surprisingly spa like. The little kitchen had an apartment size fridge, hot plate and counter top oven. Outside our cherry coloured door were two matching lawn chairs; perfectly placed for evening cocktails. They are still putting finishing touches on the property and the pool is under repair but we found the river to be refreshing and plenty of lakes were within 30 minutes of our location. There is currently one bbq for the property. Our neighbours brought their own portable grill; great idea! Our hosts were exceptional.

Everything from check in to our stay was smooth. We booked one of the 1-bedroom suites. All new interiors, neutral colours and a flat screen TV over each bed (1 in the bedroom, 1 in the main area). Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for cooking, full size fridge to make life easier on vacation, and having a carport made keeping our travel toys safe and easy. Beds were comfortable, air conditioning and fans kept the temperature perfect in the room. Large bathroom. What a great place to stay - so close to town, such a friendly staff, beautiful river views, 2 little beaches right at the motel in to the river. Mountain views. Beautiful grass and picnic tables between the motel and the river for hanging out. Daniel and his family do a wonderful job at this motel, and I would never want to stay anywhere else in Grand Forks. Easily accessible to Trans Canada Trail in both directions, hiking, dual sport riding, food, you name it. Thanks again for having us!

Did a last minute booking at Johnny’s and was a bit apprehensive given the limited photos on the site! Don’t worry..... you’ll be pleasantly surprised..... all is recently renovated, and comfortable! Extra touch is the back sitting area looking out onto the river..... incredibly relaxing! Nothing better than to soak your feet in a cool stream after a long day’s drive! Rooms are spacious, bed extremely comfortable and all the Tv selections you could ask for. Worth every penny and more! Thanks for this welcome surprise!

WAS a regular customer. Don't bother staying here. New owners treat customers with a lot of suspension and disrespect. New owners seem to take advantage of the previous owners high Trip Advisor rating. I now stay at Western Traveler.

You were not a regular customer. Everything you have said is false. The new owners are not disrespectful in any way, and you did not stay here. And you wont get the luxury of staying here after your false review. Take care and all the best
