We stayed in Big Bar Guest Ranch for May long weekend. It is a perfect place to unplug from big city buzz - no cell phone reception, no crowds, no noise. Just amazing views of mountains, lakes and meadows. Knowledgeable and friendly guides who make your horse back riding trips

Hello EvgeniyPan, Thank you for your 5 star rating and for posting such great comments about your recent stay with us. We do pride ourselves in offering a secluded retreat where our guests can disconnect from their devices and completely connect with each other. You were the perfect riders for Candy and Buster (your horses) to start the season off with people who enjoyed their company as much as they did yours. It was a joy to host all three of you..it isn't often we see a beautiful Whippet acting like a farm dog! Please book with us again soon, Elyse

This ranch is located about 72km down a dirt road just after Clinton BC. It is beautiful there I can not dispute that. We arrived on May 13 around 530 and booked into our cabin. Ate at 630. We booked our ride for 930am the following morning. After breakfast we were told morning

Dear Katherine C, Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review about your recent stay with us. I am sincerely sorry that you were so disappointed and that we, despite our best efforts, were not able to turn this around for you while you were still on property. As you can imagine, when a horse gets injured, our entire team needs to adjust their day to make sure the animal is well. I'm sad to say, this particular injury ended up requiring far more attention than average and as such both our Head Wrangler and his number 2 needed to take the horse to the vet together. The remaining ranch hands needed to tend to the other horses who were emotionally charged from the incident. These actions were not taken as a result of poor planning, rather this was the right decision to make in the best interest of both our guests (yourself) and the remaining horses. In compensation, I had offered you a free ride the next day when our guides were back and the remaining herd were rested and calm which you declined. You have reviewed a number of dollar amounts and transactions in your comment. To clarify, the $36 deposit at time of reservation was not refunded as noted at time of reservation and in your booking email. Everything else was completely refunded regardless of the food that you ate and the cabin that you slept in. You had mentioned the food was mediocre then changed it to tasty. As the BBGR General Manager as well as a Fairmont Hotels & Resorts trained Chef, I welcome any feedback you have on the menu, but it seems that there really wasn't a concern there. It would appear that the value for our cozy rustic log cabins and our farm-to-table food wasn't in dispute. I could see when you arrived and throughout your stay that you were not happy with the situation, and I am truly regretful that I was not able to turn that around for you and convince you to stay for the duration of your originally booked reservation to enjoy the horseback riding the next day. Should you decide to give us another chance in the future, my previous offer for a complementary ride will be extended. Again, I am sorry to see that there was nothing I could do to recover your stay with us while you were here. I'm sure you will be happy to hear that, while he is retired for the season, Ozzy (the injured horse) is on the road to recovery and will enjoy his summer of grazing on the property. Warm regards, Elyse

We visited two nights, July 3 to 5, 2018. At meals there were a few European family groups, we chatted with another teacher & family, and a teacher mum & daughter. All three of us sort of decompressing from a long year. We visited Big Bar in the 1990s with young kids. This was a

Returned for our fifth annual trip and were greeted warmly as returning extended family. Started our scheduled week-long vacation with an afternoon ride that was awesome. Joey and the new wrangler Irene took us out to the canyon ride, a few fast runs as we are advanced riders,
