Our beach is sandy with the lake bottom being fairly soft. The lake is warm in August, although this is relative depending on what you are used to. Temperatures are fairly average for the southern interior of British Columbia, perhaps a little bit cooler than you might find in the Okanagan Valley.
The water level in Little Shuswap Lake fluctuates over the course of the year with annual high water in mid to late June. By August the lake level has dropped somewhat, giving us a nice sized sloped beach for resort guests.
The lake bottom in front of the resort is a fairly consistent for 300-400 feet out from shore. By August the water depth is typically waist to chest deep on the average adult until you get quite far out offshore.
