Watch out for your credit card if you stay at Ainsworth. A 1 night stay at Ainsworth for $228 ended up costing me over $500!!! I stayed 1 night at Ainsworth but my credit card was DOUBLE CHARGED for 2 nights instead. And then Purchase Interest was added to my card for the extra charge because I still haven’t gotten a refund after 12 DAYS! I let Ainsworth know about the double charge and I was pretty shocked by their “NOT OUR PROBLEM” attitude. Normally when their is a double charge on a card at a hotel, they just enter your credit card number into their machine & hit Refund. And there it’s done. But they don’t do that at Ainsworth. They will NOT just refund you for a double charge. I got this response from their Accounts manager: “I am really sorry that the refund hasn’t been done yet. It’s not being done on our end as Ainsworth wasn’t the one that double charged you. It was our payment processor, Moneris. They are getting it done as quickly as they can. Hopefully you’ll see your money soon. Once again I am really sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.” Um.... hopefully you’ll see your money soon, is not the same as we will refund it right away. So Ainsworth REFUSED to hit refund on their in house credit card machine for me. They would rather just force customers wait for who knows how long for Moneris, which makes no sense because Moneris is linked to their bank account. It’s how they got the money from my 1st credit card payment. I still haven’t got a refund. They kept telling me it wasn’t their fault, it was Moneris, but I wouldn’t have an extra $228 charge if I hadn’t stayed at their hotel. I asked to speak with Manager but got NO reply. I then spoke with the Assistant General Manager, and I let him know that this extra charge was costing me money because I was being charged extra Purchase Interest now on my credit card because of the extra charge, and that I STILL hadn’t gotten my refund. He replied a little just once, and then I never heard from him again. Just ignored. It really demonstrates how little they care about customers, but how much they care about money. Maybe double charging people is a way to make more of a profit during Covid.....…
I have stayed here before and this was by far our favourite visit. Mostly due to the fact that it is only open to hotel guests only right now. Was so nice to go in the pool and actually have a place to sit. When we have come in the past we could barely find a place to stand. The resort should actually think about having the pools only open to hotel guests after the pandemic passes, even for just on the weekends. It made the amount we paid for the room seem reasonable. I did find it weird that I had to pay an extra $10 a night for my 3 year old, in a family room. I didn’t find this out till I got there that kids (3-17) are an extra charge, you would think it would say that when I booked? I might understand for 10 year olds and over, but 3? Just haven’t seen that before. My one suggestion for the resort would be to have a washroom available for use near the pools, instead of having us go to our rooms. When a 3 year old says he has to go to the bathroom, that means right that second. He barely made it to our bottom floor room. I understand it’s a pandemic, but the resort seems to be on top of sanitizing, so I can’t see no reason a washroom can’t be added to that sanitation walk, to make hotel guests more comfortable. So stay on the 3rd floor, so you can be close to your room washroom, especially if you have young ones. Apart from this, we had a great time, our son enjoyed the warm pools so much, as did we. Very relaxing time. …
We booked the weekend for a couples weekend because reading on their website all the spa services they had and the time the Hot Springs were open till. When we got here the spa was completely shut down and the Hot Springs closed early, Restaurant closed early and you can order wine with your dinner before 8 pm. Staff was following you around making sure it was super uncomfortable wherever you went and they had no suggestions on where you could go to a spa or a restaurant because their’s closed. Why would I pay our hard earned money for no room service no spa and rude hotel/restaurant with terrible staff!
The hot springs cave and pool are exceptional, wonderful tunnel and cave right into the rocks with clean facilities as well. Five stars for sure. We also met several very nice visitors including a local man with some terrific stories involving the challenges of raising chickens when the neighborhood is inhabited by chicken eating bears. HOWEVER Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort is NOT the same as the hotel. The hotel had the absolute rudest front desk staff as well as who we assumed was the manager. My wife and I are retired and are considered to be "laid back." We were shocked at facing this level of hostility. Mistaken identity?? We had been there but that was 30 years ago so we could only think the staff are either really terrible people or they had a bad experience with someone they mistook for us. We are looking forward to going back once this Covid crisis is resolved, but we will not be staying at the hotel.…
We had a wonderful experience at this resort! The service was friendly and very helpful. The room we had was spectacular with an amazing view of the lake (YAQAN NUKIY SUITES). The room was spacious and very clean. A bit of road noise but not disturbing. The hot spring pools are amazing and the cavern is a very unique feature. The restaurant was also amazing.
