Not sure if it is. Lunch time thing in the Restaurant but just as disappointed as the first, waitress pleasant, food mediocre steak overcooked and cold same as the Turbot, will not be back.cannot justify prices for a 3 out of 10 meal.

There are many places that attempt what the Gunton Arms delivers with relish. It balances country pub charm and sophisticated destination with a perfect dose of eccentric British swagger. As a stand alone restaurant it is very good, as a pub it is excellent and as a hotel the attention to detail and cleanliness are first rate. Add the impressive... More

I really can't think of a way to improve this place, the food was beautifully cooked and beer in perfect condition. The staff could not be more helpful, such a change to see people who seem to be happy to be at work! We were a group of four and had two large dogs with us, so we were put... More

Chilled vibe, great interior. Sunning landscapes with a good choice of beer, I'm told the Gunton is Marmite but I love it. It's not like any pub we've been to and I've returned several times for a quite pint by the fire.

Four of us had dinner here last night...special occasion made far more special by the fabulous food, great wine, informal efficient service and the marvellous quirky ambience of the dinning room. We were in the Elk Room, close to the huge fire on which steaks etc are cooked, though the other dinning room is just as interesting with the art... More

We visited the pub to celebrate my newphews 18th birthday. It is set in a great location and as we walked up to the pub, loads of deer where running around in the surrounding fields. The pub is large and what every pub should be. The bar area is for drinkers, has a pool table, darts and TV and very... More

Everyone i know who eats here goes on about how incredible it is, how the food is amazing, "oh you just have to go there blah blah." And to be honest we weren't particularly impressed. We were originally planning on eating at a nearby pub but due to unforeseen circumstances we had to eat here. My girlfriend ordered salmon on... More

It is always interesting to visit a new place, especially after having read previous reviews. We stayed two nights and to be honest could have been there for another month. In need of relaxation we certainly got that from the moment we walked through the car park gate and saw the wonderful grounds full of deer. Certainly our sort of... More

The Gunton Arms had been recommended to us, and we looked forward to having a special night out with friends, firstly we were told that we could only have the table early evening between 6 and 8, so when we arrived at 5.30 naturally assumed we could order once we had seen menus, however when we went to the bar...
