Stayed a couple of nights for my birthday weekend (winter). The room was nice and the view was amazing! You can tell the place is a bit old but well-maintained. The area was very peaceful; we saw a few deers just outside the hotel property one afternoon. Staff was pleasant enough. We explored the hotel, there is a room with a pool table and just beside are a couple of vintage hotel phone booths which was cute. Very easy to go to town using the funicular. I used the spa service by Givenchy (facial, body scrub and massage), it was nice and I recommend it except I had to wait for 20minutes despite making an appointment. Breakfast can be better for that price.

Mirador of Vevey is certainly a magic place at lake Geneva. The view is magnificient, the staff extremely friendly and, not usual in the French part, all very fluent in German. we felt like in heaven and even having a flu, the Lady recognised my misery and brought me her special flu medicine to go, this is what I call Gastfreundschaft, service!

This was supposed to be a couples weekend. More than two weeks before coming, this changed. This hotel must tell when booking there is a no cancellation policy and once booked, you lose your payment of the full room price. So, I came by myself. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are very nice. The view is exceptional. The staff at the bar is very nice. Kudos to Adam. But, service is poor. One example, it was known I can by public transportation, and when I left it was pouring rain. No one offered a ride to the funicular or even an umbrella. The last experience is the memorable one. There are beautiful places to run. If you want a romantic weekend and come by car, work going. But, if you have to go to vevey, it’s not worth it.

Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are sincerely sorry if upon the reservation progress you haven't been informed properly about the special cancellation policies during the Fete des Vignerons Festival. It should be mentioned on your confirmation. As for the transport to the Funicular it is certainly possible, but apparently the reception staff didn't take care of you properly. Please accept our sincere apologies. It will be our pleasure to welcome you back to Le Mirador in the near future. With best regards, Yvette Thüring & Team General Manager yvette.thuering@mirador.ch

This was a very pleasant surprise. We didn't pay too much attention to the booking and thought we had booked a "normal" Kempinski hotel (which we have not stayed in before but as its a recognisable brand assumed it would be good) in Lausanne. The price was very reasonable and in the region of £250 which again led to us believe it was a standard 4/5 star hotel. The first surprise was when we got off at Lausanne and the cab driver didn't know about it - he can be forgiven as it isn't in Lausanne but near Vevey. But rather than getting back on a train to Vevey, we decided to take a cab which cost CHF70-80. The hotel is atop a hill and with wonderful panoramic views of the Lake and beyond. The real surprise was it wasn't a bog standard 4/5 star hotel but a luxurious boutique spa hotel. What we thought was a standard room was in fact a beautiful suite. We certainly hit the jackpot and we rate it as one of the best places we have ever visited and we have been fortunate enough to stay in some wonderful places. Aside from the tranquil and luxurious setting, the staff were excellent and the food was good. If we're ever in that part of the world again, we'll definitely hear to Le Mirador.

We stayed at Le Mirador Hotel and Spar at Mont Pelerin, Vevey, for three nights. The stay was part of a multi-centre trip by train organised by Switzerland Travel Centre, London (STC). Access from Vevey station is via bus, funicular, and walking from the top funicular station. As we had luggage, we took a taxi from Vevey station which cost us 40CHF. This is a tale of two parts, the good and the not so good. Good things first The site is high above Lake Geneva and gave fantastic views over the lake towards France, Montreux and Lausanne. The restaurant terrace took full advantage of this view. Breakfast was excellent with a broad selection of food to suit most tastes. Dinner at the restaurant was also good. The restaurant staff were multilingual, polite and helpful, including the catering college student who served our last dinner to us. It was a pleasure to dine there both in the morning and the evening. Our room had a secluded balcony and a superb bathroom including twin sinks, bath and a brilliant separate shower. Now the not so good Reception had allocated a single occupancy room when we arrived. They were offered the STC voucher but initially were undecided whether they needed it. After the receptionist consulted a colleague, we were taken to our room which was in the original building. We were told how to get to the restaurant and terrace bar. We were told about the Spa facilities. The resort is fairly large and complex, and it took us several attempts to find our way around to the terrace bar, and the restaurant. At the bar we ordered two Aperol Spritz drinks. Elsewhere we were charged between 9CHF and 12CHF per drink. At the Mirador bar the price was 18CHF per drink. Wi-Fi access was included and we were given a passcode. Eventually we got access, but drop-out was frequent. Putting in the passcode repeatedly (up to 12 times) every occasion the connection dropped was frustrating! The TV in our room was connected to a satellite box. We failed to get it to work. We contacted reception and suggested that the batteries in the remote control needed replacing. After dinner, the TV would still not work. After exploring underneath the desk beneath the TV, we found the Sat Box behind the waste bin, hanging from its wiring, with the sensor for the remote facing backwards and to the floor. We solved the problem by putting the Sat Box on the upturned waste bin with the sensor facing into the room. The TV then worked. On one bedside cabinet was a Logitech iPOD player. Its transformer was located inside the top drawer of the cabinet. The inside of the drawer was warm from the transformer. It proved impossible to get access to the socket to unplug the device. We kept the drawer open to dissipate the heat. The room was not serviced during our first day’s stay. We stopped one of the cleaning staff in the corridor and complained. They apologised but went away. We told the receptionist and he promised to get the room serviced. After dinner we found the bed had been made but no other servicing appeared to have been carried out. We arranged to pay our restaurant and bar bill on our last night as we intended to leave early the following morning. The STC voucher presented to reception on our arrival had clearly included the City Tax. Despite this, the receptionist insisted on adding City Tax to the invoice to allow us to check out. He would not check the voucher provided by STC. On return home, and checking our STC invoice, I contacted the Mirador asking for the excess City Tax to be refunded (copied to STC). I am pleased to say that I have received a refund. At our request, the receptionist organised a taxi to Vevey station for the following morning. He advised there was a flat price of 50CHF payable in advance to reception. This taxi was the hotel’s own vehicle. What a pity this resort’s hotel services and reception were not operated to the same standard as their restaurant services.
