Estreya We stayed a week in this hotel(4adults and 2 children) firts they gave us a room in which was a massive mold smell, so they gave us a new room after we started complaining… In the first two days the room wastn’t cleaned. The third day when the cleaning women was at our room I accidentaly went back to the room and when she saw me, she started yelling at me, because my 1 yeard old boy unwrapped a toilet paper. So she threw away the toilet paper with my belt in it and with two cards (my girls playing cards). Luckily I was there and I saw it so I could get back from the trash bin which was outside in the garden. Then she continued yelling at me to take back the glasses to the restaurant. It wasn’t written anywhere or said at the bar that we couldn’t go to the room with glasses, so in the other days we took back all the glsses, but I really don’t think this was our duty to do! One morning when we finished swimming in the pool, the shower wasn’t working. And the most stupid situation was when we stayed at dinner in a table and one waitress came there and told us that this table is reserved, and told us the sign is on the table… on the sign was writtem “no smoking” …. The food was good, and the staff from the bar was kind but in conclusion we don’t want to go back there ever again!

The hotel is situated in a park and is about 600 meters close to the beach. We got a sea view airconditioned room. For 6 days we received daily wc-paper, soap and shampoos, towels but no cleaning the room. The elevator was soooooooo slowly running. The breakfast was the same all 6 days. Dinner was a buffet type but often there was not enough 4* dishes. The salad bar was ok. Excellent inner pool but outside pools were not very well cleaned. There was a public payed parking near the hotel for 5 BGN for 24 hours.

On 01.06.2019 at 3:35 pm we registered at the reception of Estreya Residence Hotel in Varna. We asked for a room near our friends on the third floor. We were told that the hotel is totally busy and the only free room is 202. Having found a bursting bath we did not ask for a transfer due to the occupancy of the hotel and our stay for one night. We released the room around 10:00 on 02.06.2019. At 11:35 am I received a call from 00359 882 36 86 91. A woman presented himself as a hotel employee without announcing his name. She said she had received information about a broken bath from the maid, and obviously we are responsible for this. After I denied my damages on our part, I was informed that the hotel would seek its rights in the appropriate order. I do not think it is my duty to report failures in a seemingly neglected hotel. Be careful in this old hotel!!!!

Seeing all the negative reviews I was really scared when my husband told me he booked this hotel for our weekend trip, but turned out to be a great decision and perfect option for all of us, so we are here now already for the second time. We arrived in the morning in Varna, had a walk in the city and around 14:30 went to the hotel for check in. The lady from reception was nice and smiley. We booked an apartment -both rooms very spacious, overall clean (some stains on the carpet, but not a big deal for us, only details), the heating system was working well, so there was no problem even outside was cold. We chose to eat there the breakfast and dinner -buffet style. Everything was good, there was variety, the restaurant staff constantly monitoring to be enough food in the recipients. We went also to the pool. Kids were super happy. It was not crowded, the water was heated, clean (the yellow stains on the pool walls I believe are like this due to the mineral water). We only visited the saunas, as with 2 kids was impossible to have a minute for us, but looked very nice. We were here for the second time already, so for us is the perfect option, nothing to complain about.

Had we have written the reviews, we wouldn’t book here. Prices are more expensive than in Albena resort. Food is disgusting. Reception personnel is rude. Even their Bulgarian language soft skills are missing. However if you order taxi they will offer you immediately the double price taxi, whose driver is hanging at the reception all day long. Not only that, but the receptionist was bad mouthing loudly about our colleagues who dared to complain. The manager is rude and has no interest and attention to the complaints of the customers. The rooms are dirty, warned out and proper housekeeping is missing! Mold on the walls and dirty stains on the carpet. Bathrooms are the most disgusting with plenty of mold. We booked the place for conference purpose, however after the second night we canceled our stay and urgently found another hotel. The whole experience was awful. Given the fact that we had 15 rooms and last minute move was difficult, we managed it.

How this hotel is classed as 4 star is beyond me. The mini bar is empty there is no kettle in the room to make yourself a drink at night. The pool area has broken tiles around the sides and where you walk. The cubicle where you shower when you come out of the pool looks as if it has not cleaned all summer. The food is very basic with a very poor variety and most of the time it is only just warm when you get it. I have stayed in 2 star hotels in Varna that provide better services.

I returned last week from my third visit to this hotel on a HB basis and, once again, I was not disappointed. The food has greatly improved since last June so I was more than happy to eat my dinner here - free wine and beer are served with the evening meals and it's perfectly drinkable. Breakfast has everything you need with plenty of tea and coffee available. The rooms are spacious with plenty of wardrobe space and complimentary toiletries - my maid was fab and came in daily changing the towels. Having stayed here for the last 3 years, the staff have got to know me and are very friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

On arriving at 04.00 in the morning, the man on reception saw me and started tapping away on his keyboard for around 15minutes, didn't even acknowledge me, I then had a key slung across the desk and was told down there to the right, ok, so off I go, when I get to where he told me there was a lift, I had no idea what floor I was on, so I went back to ask, he just goes 3, so up I go, I get to my room which is ok, the carpet is threadbare, but overall clean. I come down the next morning to get a coffee, and they won't serve me as I don't have a wristband, so off I go to reception to get one, the food was inedible, so I just had a coffee, lunch and dinner were no better, so i decided to go to the shop and try and find something to eat. Later i went to the bar and asked for a fanta, i was served mine in a plastic cup, whereas other people all had their drinks in a glass, so i asked for one, he was so rude. I then went down to the pool area, well, i can't imagine the last time it was cleaned, there were debris all down the steps and on the bottom, suffice to say i didn't go in. I was actually a woman on my own, who had come for dental treatment, and i have to say that not one person spoke to me the whole time i was there, the staff didn't really speak English either, it's predominantly German speaking. I for one would never go back to this hotel, it had a funny smell when you entered, and was very tired looking in places, and all the information boards had no English language on them, so i had no idea what was what.

We were a little concerned reading some of the negative reviews prior to our visit, but in the event we were very pleasantly surprised by the Estreya Residence, especially in view of the price we paid. Good sized apartment, with a view of the sea and pool. Very clean, well maintained, everything working. We had decent wi-fi in the room for no extra cost. Stayed half board. Food options at breakfast and evening meal were varied, fresh, and good quality. My wife's a vegetarian, and there was plenty of choice for her. Staff helpful and friendly. Very few British people staying here or in St Constantine resort, but that wasn't a problem for us, as English is spoken most places. Only issue is that the apartment isn't well stocked with utensils, if you did want to cook for yourself - if half board there's really no need. We did buy a small pan to boil water for a cuppa, (wasn't a pan or kettle available when I asked at reception) but a few days later a brand new kettle appeared in the room. Overall very happy with our stay and we're considering a return visit next year.

The hotel has been renovated very unsuccessfully. The room is vast, but it looks damaged. The air-conditioning is non-stop working, even when the button is off or the door to the balcony is open. There were some blonde hairs on the shower (perhaps from a previous guest). The guys on the reception do not have any willingness to work. They could't say if we should stay on B&B basis or on AI. There was water coming from the ceiling just next to the reception desk.
