I stayed with my husband in September for a few days, it was part of our Bulgaria trip. The staff and especially hotel management were very helpful. I absolutely enjoyed my time at Golden Sands and definitely will come back, possibly for longer this time.

I would give 0 stars if I could. Rude receptionist told us at the very beginning of our stay that she can't advise us what are the tv channels we can watch ,because "madam,I am not here to watch the TV!"The rest of the interaction with the employees during our stay was similar if not worse. Very unexpected considering the advertising they have. It would have been somehow bearable if the rest was ok, BUT IT WAS WORSE. Low hygiene and low quality food and beverages including alkohol, which the staff hides!!! , pool that is either closed for clients or not cleaned!!! This place is a joke,my advice is - find yourself a proper hotel that knows a thing or two about customer service and qulity.

The location is very good, the main street and the beach are in the near. The staff is very helpful and kind. The choice and the quality of the breakfast could be better. Our room wasn't cleaned when we arrived, but after we indicated the problem, they did it.

I spent one week in this hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly especially the manager Emilia. She really took good care of me...she was always available. I never had any issues with the room and the cleaning people did a wonderful job. Overall I would say the staff went above and beyond their duties to see to it that I had an enjoyable stay in Bulgaria.

“stay away from this hotel”, STAY AWAY FROM BULGARIA, MY CAR WAS PICK -UP AFTER 30 MINUTES AFTER I GO OUT OF cramped PARKING OF THIS HOTEL. The food are poor , drink a loot of poor, and undrinkable, the employes of the hotel collaborate to the lift company like many others bulgarian people. DO NOT LET YOUR MONEY IN BULGARIA,THEY ARE ROBBERS!

Nice little hotel set in a quiet spot but very close to the action. The beach is about a 10 min walk away passing many shops, bars and restaurants. Rooms were good with comfortable bed etc although the shower could be more powerful!Air con was adequate and the rooms have small terrace/balcony. Stayed on b+b so can only comment on breakfast which was ok, Usual fare of eggs, cold meats etc. Dimitri the waiter in the restaurant is a top guy, great service and he knows how to keep you smiling with his one liners! The waitresses were all very smiley and efficient too... The staff in this hotel get 5 stars as they are all very friendly, polite and very helpful with anything you may need to know. The manager Amelia is very nice and always ready to provide help/information as needed and comes across as a naturally warm person. The reception staff are also very friendly and polite as were the cleaning ladies All in all a pleasant little hotel that i imagine people return to year after year, and i probably will!

We visited this hotel in 2010 to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary, We arrived at the hotel at about 1.30 am so it was very dark and we were very tired. We arrived for breakfast not really noticing anything unusual we ate then went for a walk around the resort, the beach and market is a very busy place and enjoyed walking around and browsing in the many shops and stalls. We arrived back at the hotel late afternoon and decided to go for a swim in the pool, arriving at the pool nearly all the sun beds were broke when we eventually found two decent ones we walked to the pool it looked very unclean, tiles missing in the pool and also a tide mark around the pool like you would see around a dirty bath so we decided against a swim and went for a siesta. We later went for our evening meal noticing that some of the food being served was the same as at breakfast not happy but still had something to eat. There was no evening entertainment so went for a walk. The morning after I woke with crippling pains and rushed to toilet to vomit, I eventually made my way back to bed. I had vomiting and diahorria after having it for two days my husband took me to see a local doctor who attached me to a drip and then wrote out a prescription, they then drove us to a cash machine in the ambulance to make sure they got the money for treatment given, they left us at the cash machine after we gave them the money and I then had to struggle my way back to our hotel, I was ill for the next ten days and spent all my holiday stuck ill in my room. Eventually it was time for us to go home couldn't wait, when I arrived home I made an appointment with my own GP and he arranged tests that came back with the salmonella poisoning. I then contacted Balkan Holidays who responded by saying that I could not have contracted it from the hotel and I must have eaten somewhere else, my opinion is that when you book all inclusive the idea is that you eat at your hotel but obviously they thought different, I eventually contacted a solicitor and received my settlement with them admitting liability, I would definitely advise anybody against booking in at this hotel.

Arrived 10/09/11-24/09/11 Travelled as a couple, read all the reviews before we arrived at hotel but arrived with an open mind, the hotel is set slightly back from the beach, not a far walk and in a nice quiet location, although close to all amentities and shops and bars, the hotel itself is very clean, friendly and cheerful, staff always go that extra mile to ensure you enjoy your stay, there were alot of English people when we stayed as well as german and polish, we stayed in room 630 top floor and pool view (exactly what we asked for) but if you are not happy with your room they will move you, the food is good for bulgarian food, catered alot around german, but english people were offered bacon, mushrooms etc, which were cooked in the back and handed out to your table, typical breakfast is, cereals, cold meats, fried eggs, boiled eggs, omlette, toast, jams etc,... hotdogs were served around the pool area for snacks, never had dinner so cant comment, but evening meal consisted of chicken cooked in various sauces, pork (which was gorgeous) chips, spagetti, pizza, salad, sausages, pasta etc always something to eat and i am a fussy eater!....love the fact you can drink in any of the bars (as on previous holidays you were limited but this was not the case) we ate out a few times found full english and fish and chips! was best at hurry ramsdens along the beach front, Jerry (the manager) always made you feel welcome and proper english gub :) bulgaria is a place you either love or hate, we love it and are already looking at prices for next year, please ignore the bad reviews this hotel is not perfect by all means but it is not a bad hotel, and the prices are so reasonable! i look forward to seeing some other good reviews and if you have any concerns about the hotel please feel free to contact me and i will try my best to put your mind at ease :)
