I stayed in the late of April, in a double sea view room. Location clean, nice staff, relative close to the center. The food was good, in the room was cold, also the water was cold in the inner pool. The worst part was the parking, very small. The beautifull weather saved the situation in the end.

We were at this hotel at the beginning of June, 2014. Clean, spacious rooms, very well maintained hotel, plenty of choices in the food department, very tasty and fresh. Service is excellent, the staff - very helpful and friendly. Two shallow pools for kids, two-level bigger pool with slides, very close to the beach. Unfortunately by the sea you have to pay for the chairs and umbrellas and it's quite pricy. Around the pools they are free. The hotel doesn't provide beach towels.
The animation staff - nice entertainment for the kids, for adults - don't expect too much.
In the resort around the hotel the party goes on most of the time, for peace and quite look somewhere else.

Planning a low budget vacation (500e - 2 adults + 1 child), we didn't have great expectations, especially that we did a last minute switch with 100e more from a only breakfast included hotel to this all-inclusive hotel.

Before choosing it, I've read the reviews and I had some doubts on the hotel because of the score on Booking and Tripadvisor, but finally it seems the switch was a success, compared to the first option.

What we like:
- Amiable and polite staff
- Rooms were cleaned daily
- Good and diversified food at the restaurant
- Nice pools and pool bar

What we didn't like, confirmed by previous reviews, but we had to make a compromise:
- Parking: no available places at hotel parking, 10leva/day at private parking 200m away. This seems to be a general problem in Golden Sands, as many hotels have the same issue. Also, there is a tow truck which really patrols the streets.
- All-inclusive bars start at 11:00AM. Yes, this was frustrating for whom want a juice (beer) in the morning before swimming in the pool.
- Noise: Indeed there are discos around and drunk young people making a lot of noise. But, for a quiet hotel I recommend the ones from the outskirts of the city.
- Dirty water in the pools: the water was cleaned weekly, the water filtering system (if existing) was clearly not efficient.
- Cold water in indoor pool. Almost nobody was using it because the water was warmer outside…
- Insufficient sunbeds, sometimes you need a "towel reservation" from 8AM, especially on the children's pool
- No free wifi in rooms, the internet available on the lobby was bad (many disconnects and slow because of many users...)

Overall, we weren't disappointed, but there are many things which might be improved.

If you can sleep on the street or in your car - please do so, but do not sleep in this hotel.
There are four basic issues which cannot be fixed:
1. NOISE - you simply cannot sleep till 5 am in the morning because of the noise coming from nearby disco, and drunks on the street. Imagine yourself sleeping in the chair in the middle of a dancing floor in the disco. When the music stops, the drunlen patrons continue their "conversations" accross the floor. You fell asleep from exhaustion at about 5-6 am just to be awaken from a noise next door (your neighbors just came back).
2. SERVICE - non-existent. People are extremely nice, but nothing works: airconditioning, faucets, internet, etc. You name it - it does not work, and with a smile you are told that nothing can be done. This hotel should have been demolished many years ago.
3. ELEVATORS. You cannot fit even a suitcase if there are more than two people in the metalic case they called "elevator". Oh - yes, there are staris.
4. HYGIENE. Dangerous for any civilized person. Will not go into more details.
5. FOOD in the restaurant. Non-eadable.

Avoid this hotel!!!

First of all, if you care about what and how you are eating you should stay away from this hotel because in the restaurants and lobby bar are hygiene problems, tableware and glasses are generally filthy!!!

Mimosa is a very cheap hotel, poorly finished and I don’t understand how it was classified at 4*!? It is located far away from the beach, at about 1 km., in the commercial area of the resort, so you’ll “enjoy” noise and bustle of the street and of others restaurants and pubs till late night. If you want to reach the beach, on the shortest way, you should go downstairs in addition about 50 stairs.

If you are in vacation with small kids you won’t have to many options concerning the food in the hotel restaurant because the don’t have dishes proper for the kids in general, they serve up too many dishes with sauce, minced meat, fried not grilled, the food is to salty and the soups are some kind of dark brown undefined salty juices. I have to say that the butter is some kind of white margarine.

They have also problems with food diversity serving up the same sort of dishes almost everyday and the desserts even they look good are only sweet without some distinct flavor.

A big mistake is to make a reservation to the Italian restaurant named Gusto. Over there you can have a pizza similar to those frozen, with a lot of salty yellow cheese added, a very very salty lasagna with savory not oregano (!) and Caprese salad with cream cheese instead of mozzarella. A genuine Italian restaurant!!!

Concerning the accommodation, first apartment was really nice, large with a huge terrace, but we were forced to change it because the bathtub got broken in the third day. Actually the tub was improperly installed and got broken. In the second apartment, roughly the same problem with the improper fitting of the bathtub; this one was draining the water outside the tub. They wanted us to pay the damage in the first apartment but after a heated argument they gave up.

They know very well about their problems with hygiene and others and they do nothing!
At the end the rest doesn’t matter, be careful and stay away from this hotel, it’s one of the worst!!!

From 9 in the morning, until 11 at night alcoholic drinks are free such as vodka and beers.
There was constantly a lot of drunk teenagers from Germany shouting and screaming because of the free alcoholic drinks until around 5 in the morning. Even in the pools and around the hotel this bad behavior continues, they also have fights in the pool.
Tourists with kids or older and elderly people should not stay here.
You cannot sleep at night because of the music, which is very loud and plays until 3 in the morning.
After the drunk Germans left, drunk Romanians arrived. There were also a lot of tourists from Poland.
There was no relaxation here which was disappointing.

Just arrived from hotel Mimosa in Golden Sands (me and my 3 years old daughter). I spent a holiday full of problems. It started with a broken air conditioning. I complained about it since the first day. The serviceman came after my 6th (!) complaint!!! But he did not repair it. The receptionist refused to change us the room. Finally we spent 5 days without the air-conditioning before it was repared. It was impossible to sleep with an open window, because the hotel is placed just opposite a noisy open air disco! All that trable continued one afternoon when me and my daughter started to vomit and finally spent 2 days in a hospital. I saw many people in the hotel having the same problem at the same time. It was probably a food poisoning or a virus infection. Some days before we leave the hotel someone broke in our hotel room, forcibly opened our suitcase and stole all our money. I spent 5 hours on a police department for write a protocol and in addition I had to pay to the police a fee.
Otherwise quite nice hotel. In my opinion it correspond to a 3 star standard. Rooms newly equipped. Clean, but my friends had the bathroom full of ants every morning :-(. Swimming pool nice, but old dated, so broken on many places and quite dirty. Food was good, but not excellent. Choice big enough, but very repetitive. Good soft drinks. Dirty dishes in the hotel restaurant. Staf very unpleasant except the cleaning ladies and animators. Hotel is convenient for the families with children. I loved the beach and the sea BUT the beach was completely overloaded by the paid areas and the free area was in front or behind the paid sunbeds. So if you didn´t want to pay for the sunbed and umbrella (quite expensive), you had to put your towel almost in the water or very far away from the water. Golden Sands is a noisy place. Perfect for young people who wish to spend all the nights in the bars and discos. Avoid if you wish to sleep the night.

A dissapointing hotel. Nothing like what we expected from a 4 star hotel. Not very clean, very fussy. We stayed at a room at the level of the pool that was very noisy even at night when people was passing from the road or drunk people was coming back. Food was lousy and every time about the same. Restaurant smelled a bad perfume. Toilets smell a lot, especially out at the pool area or at the balkony. People working there are not friendly at all. I do not recommend it to anybody that has expectations from the hotel that books!

We've been in this Hotel last year. We've spend almost 20 days. My advice : run !

Of the staff is quite friendly after spending couple of days but regarding the facilities : the food is awful, the rooms are not clean...
After a few days, we've decided to have our meals outside the hotel. The "buffet" is noisy and it's like the gold rush when a warm meal is taken from the kitchen...

If you want to spend cheap holidays in an expesive hotel with drunking people from 09am to 12pm : go there !

In general, avoid this part of Bulgaria, it's only a tourist trap.
We get some problems with bouncers in night-club, taxi drivers, waiters in restaurant, money exchanging... Everybody wants to steal you on way or another...

The bulagian country seems to be more traditionnal with natural people...

well what can i say holiday from hell first of all i booked for myself my wife my 4 year old daughter and my 73 year old mother-in-lawin which we were told was a hotel that catered for british tourists. we were the only people that spoke english in the hotel for the duration of our stay (2 weeks) when we arrived we found my mother-in-law had been put in a room right beside bar street music all night couldn't believe it we had asked to be put in rooms beside each other but management wouldn't move her for two days.now for the food find it hard to describe what was put on offer i think a pig might have turned its nose up at it it was that bad cold chips every night chicken half cooked every night frozen vegetables still frozen it was awful the only good note was the animators they were fantastic putting shows on a few times a week first class. this hotel and resort is definately not for british tourists be warned
