A very nice and clean hotel, all employees speak fluent English, they have real leaders as managers. The food was varied and tasty you had something to eat even if you are a vegetarian but do not expect fine dinning or other sophisticated dishes because you pay for 3 star accommodation, although they can easily raise their standard compared to other hotels in the center. Finally the parking is very spacious, free, a pretty neat pool with bar, there are quite a few green areas and relaxation if you do not want to leave the premises, but if you go to the center be careful that the road in the resort is full of potholes and broken everything.

I went to Detelina Hotel this summer, with my boyfriend and some other friends for a week. I must admit that I was a little nervous about this hotel, being a 3 -star one, and the conditions and food there, seeing mostly bad reviews on the internet .
Much to my surprise the hotel was extremely clean, the staff very friendly and helpfull, and the food...great. We had a half board basis, both breakfast and dinner were buffet, and we were all satisfied with it. The dishes were various, every evening the menu changed. Though not all of them were on our taste, anybody could find something to enjoy- from traditional dishes, to salads, fruits, different types of meat, for dessert- fruits.
The hotel has a very big garden, with outdoor bars, near the pool. As for the swimming pool... I never thought I would end up going to the seaside and staying at the pool after all. The sea was quite dirty, with lot of weeds in it...and the water was too deep for me (I mean that after swimming 2 meters I couldn't touch the bottom).. so we preferred the hotel's pool, which was very clean and the water quite warm.
I would recommend this hotel mostly to families in want of peace, calm and to all the others that want to relax, far from the crowd, from the noise.
I stayed in a triple room, which was very large, with a big bathroom and shower, AC, hair- dryer. Another couple stayed in a double room, with sea- view, but the room was much smaller, and the bathroom...so small !!
If you want to have fun you have to go to Golden Sands, 5 km away..where you can find whatever you want...traditional, international restaurants, pubs, bars, discos, karaoke and so on. The taxi is 7 levas one way, and the bus ticket is 2 levas/ person/ 1 way.
What impressed me was the fact that these people really know how to sell their merchandise. Every restaurant had people in the street in order to promote it, making discounts, presenting their offers, menus, giving you free drinks. At a certain point this became a little exhausting...
As for the rates...I found all things quite cheap... the hotel, the food, the parking places.
If you go there by car, you can also visit Varna (10 km away) which is a very nice city, with a beautiful center.
Also, don't miss Nessebar Island (2 hours by car to the South)- it really worth all the way!
All in all, our holiday here was great and I' ll probably return next year too.

I spend week in this hotel. Its not exactly in Zlote Piaski - to the city u will have to walk 20-25 minutes (or catch the taxi/bus). Room was very nice, everyday clean. Breakfast taste not bad - few kind of meat, cheese and vegetables. Very nice bar near swimmingpool.

Terrible hotel, had no water all day but expected to pay for bottled… not their problem was the quote… Also it is a 20 minute walk to Golden sands so not situated there.
Stayed here 6 times but this is 100% the last.

Not looked at previous reviews but guess not positive!

I was in my Erasmus+ project exchange project in this hotel. We had All Inclusive system and I must say, that for 3* food and beverages were much better than expected. A lot of choice and drinks too. Thank you for pleasant stay!

Don't really recommend it! Terrible food, the rooms weren't clean, there were holes in some of the walls, there were days when we did not have water, even electricity, like cooome on..i would never come back to this horrible place.

It was the first time I have traveled also with my parents, besides my husband, and unfortunately it was a big disappointment. I have chosen this hotel and, though the reviews were not bad, I hated every minute of the week we have spent there.
We stayed at the first floor in a dirty room with stains all over the place, on carpets, walls and armchairs.
There were bugs and ants in the room, and you couldn’t leave anything out of the fridge.
The cleaning lady was like non existent. We had some food on our terrace (fallen from the upper floors) for the last 3 days. In one of the pictures I attached, the cleaning lady just left our room when I took the photo. She arranged a bit the beds and that’s it.
The bathrooms have only a shower curtain to separate from the rest of the room but nothing else, like o bath tub or something on the floor, so the water from the shower was in all over the bathroom.

The food was awful. Minced meat at every meal, in various forms: sausages, meatballs, hamburgers… the chicken looked moldy, impossible to eat; and this was all the meat in the buffet. Tasteless rice at every meal; some tomatoes or cucumbers, sliced two days before with a sour taste and some jelly as dessert. We had a hard time finding something to eat and we are not picky eaters.

The location of the hotel is in the middle of nowhere. There are like 500 m to the sea, and the problem is that when returning from the beach, you have to walk up hill back to the hotel. In the area there is nothing to do/visit. The only choice for some entertainment is in Golden Sands, which is a few kilometers away.

Also the staff is very rude, not ever smiling or trying to be of service.

So, all in all, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I have been there for a conference in Varna and cannot recommend this hotel. Only the staff was very friendly, young Bulgarian collaborators. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was not acceptable. The dishes were always cold when served.

WARNING TO ALL BRITS THINKING OF CHOOSING DETELINA HOTEL
the hotel was booked using a travel company wich at this time i would like to keep anonomous.
we arrived in the hotel n all looked good but this was soon 2 change we got to our room to find the bed sheets do not fit the bed and we had booked for a honeymoon and made this clear to the travel company and we had 2 single beds pushed up together. we didnt expect to b in the hilton or the ritz for the money we paid but bed sheets that fit we did expect. not one of the all inclusive drinks were sugar free or diet n as my new wife is a diabetic this was an issue. the main bar dose serve coke zero but its not included in the all inclusive. the all inclusive drinks are only served between 1000hrs and 2200hrs any drink u require outside of these time you have to pay for. the all inclusive drinks u get from a small hatch in the dining room all the bars are not included in the all inclusive including the poolside bar.if you have a problem non of the staff understand any english but if you want to buy somthing they all understand perfect english. the food was to say the least TERRIBLE. there is 3 or 4 birds nests on every balcany and with birds nests come bird poo so dont hang anything out to dry out there. the hotel is NOT in golden sands as we were told by the holiday company it is 3kms away or a 15lev taxi fare or a 40 minute walk. the hotel is in one of the most run down ares i have ever seen and 300 meters away from a terrible beach. there is NO entertainment wot so ever layed on by the hotel except aqua fit every day 1130hrs to 1210hrs. and on a wednesday night they get the cheapest dj they can to come and play some music n ask you to dance to it not a good experiance.
MY advise is avoid this hotel like the plague dispite how little it costs

We spent one week at Detelina Hotel, Chaika, in 2011, and we left very content. We had an all-inclusive package, with some friends. The rooms were pretty nice, always very clean, the bathroom was a bit old-stile, but also clean. The staff was incredibly nice. The beverages were not excellent, but it's only normal for the kind of package we had (with such a small amount of money). The meals were very good, sometimes repetitive- didn't really matter, because it was tasty. Always vegetables, and dishes for vegetarians. They offered an evening with traditional music and dances from Bulgaria, and they were all very nice people. Their english is not too good, but they did their best to serve us well, anyway.
The beach nearby and the water were clean, peacefull and not crowded.
A good place to relax, but not recommended for young tourists who also want night clubs, etc.
The ratings I gave are according to the number of stars, it is necessary to have a fair judgement. It is wrong to compare the food/service/facilities between a 3* hotel and a 4* one (or 2, or 5 etc).
