I really think this hotel shouldn't be four stars. Probably in the 90's it was, but not anymore: - First of all, it's the only Hotel in the zone without Beach Zone, so you will see other Hotel's guests at the beach and you in a swimming pool. - Secondly, the Covid regulations don't exist. No masks in inner spaces (or basically nowhere). I never felt comfortable. - The blanket-floor in my room (545) was really dirty, old and disgusting. - The air conditioner in my room (545) was noiser than an old car. You can't sleep because of heat or because of noise. - The bathtub of my room (545) was scratched. - Infrastructure itself looks old/wasted. - They never clean. They enter, fold the blankets and that's all. - The wiFi is really slow.
Staff barely speaks both English and Russian, almost all high school kids, don’t treat customers with respect and are not helpful, except a few older employees. In 3 room apartment we got a 1 extra “fake” bed that got broken at night when one of my family member was sleeping. Queues everywhere. Bar closes at 10pm. Food is cooked like I was cooking when I was in 1st year in university. You can’t even get yourself water because apparently there is a person to press a button for you. Very easy to get corona in a country overal I believe because no mask requirement. Other things were better but bad things might weight more;)
I was with my son for a family vacation. My son has long hair and hasn’t hit puberty yet. That day I shaved my beard and went to the reception and the receptionist was very mean to us. She called me madam and I told her I’m a male and she started making fun of me. And she said oh what a beautiful daughter you have and I told her that’s my son and he is a boy not a girl. She kept laughing at us. I told her that I’m a male and if I wasn’t I wouldn’t have a son. I even showed her my ID showing that my sex is male. She still make fun of us and ruined our vacation. This was the worst vacation ever I’m never coming back.
Food is not great. Also if you don’t have all-in , you will not have any drinks with dinner, not even water or juice. At the pool, snack bar didn’t work, so i don’t know why they have it. Rooms where ok, nothing fancy. If you are from somewhere where smoking everywhere is not ok, then it might be little disturbing if some people smoke at their palcony and you are not smoker. In bathroom water smells funny, but maybe it is Bulgarian thing, not sure. But stuff is friendly and price is great. Also if you are young… here’s a lot older people
Never again. The same food choice for 4 days. We had booked all inclusive, but we had to clean our rooms ourself. The towel was only changed when we asked for it. You have to beeg for toilet paiper. Tv remonte not working. The pool on the roof closed. And most inportant and sad thing when you need help from TUIGermany no one is to reach. NEVER AGAIN!!!!
The issue here is that the 4 star rating is way out. This hotel may have been 4 star when built, but now the building is getting tired, carpets and decor have not been updated etc.. The surrounding area is also now looking a bit shabby and unloved. Good points are the room sizes (big) and the beds are very comfy, good mattresses. The food is average, service is OK. I would give it around 2 1/2 stars. It's winter so can't comment on the beach, pool etc..
The room was big, and the beds were comfortable. Everything else was subpar. The room has no electrical plugs near the bed to charge your phone. The TV remote did not work to change channels. The bathroom had no toiletries. We stayed there for three days and nothing was replenished except for the towels. The breakfast and dinner buffet had little to offer and for dinner they would not even give you tap water to drink. They charge for everything: wifi, safe, etc. I am not going to say that the staff was rude but they definitely lack in professionalism. All in all, they say that they are a 4* hotel, but are far from it. The worst is that I arrived late (7am) for a already paid room, and was told that they cannot find me and I have to wait till past 8am for the manager to figure it out.…
we stayed again at the Lilia in august 2019 it is in need of a refurb things a bit worn but in a great spot on the front first thing is you are not going to pay the price for the Lilia and get 5 star treatment I was in room 526 rear facing to me these are the better rooms cooler in the day so room stays cooler no noise yes not a lot to look at but why would I be sitting in my room all day looking out its for sleeping in room cleaned every day towels changed when left out for them I would never go all in to the Lilia I find it hard to understand why anyone would go all in in Bulgaria breakfast was fine we did take our own peanut butter European style but I am not in England am I so i expect a European breakfast bacon twice a week we got not like English bacon but I was in Bulgaria there is a micro wave its to heat baby food Bulgaria does not really do hot food I had breakfast every day at 0700 toaster was a bit on the slow side pool was good a bit short on sunbeds but when you have people coming out at 0730 putting towels down and not coming back until 1230 I see the reason why the shortage someone puts a towel out at 0730 I would think they should be at the pool for 0900 easy walk across the road through the bar and on to the beach back and forth all day easy pool was warm most days odd day it was cold but soon warmed up Wi-Fi they do it for a charge but I am on holiday why would I want it so I don't know how good it was safety deposit boxes at reception were fine you did have to pay for them but why not it is a extra service the two key system was good better than safes in the room I did not do all in and I don't do alcohol around the pool there is a supermarket right next door soft drinks and ice cream I had no problems using the lobby bar because I am paying I could get a drink anytime with good service I found all the staff friendly the hotel was not really disabled friendly this year there were a lot of Romanians in the hotel and many of them are just not nice people what more can I say demanding is probably the word the Balkan reps left me alone the hotel was just what I wanted and where I wanted just don't go all in…
i would struggle to give this hotel 1star never mind 4stars do not go all inclusive here there are some very nice bars and restaurants on the strip outside and very reasonable prices and good quality the only good points of this hotel are the beds, they are really comfy and the showers are very powerful but that is the only good part of this hotel the food was very repetitive cold, looked and tasted terrible {they even have a microwave if you like your food hot} breakfast was always cold the only thing worth eating was pancakes. lunch and dinner were obviously recycled from previous days and was always greasy and the bread was stale you cannot get any food outside restaurant times the snack bar at the pool is chargeable but the barman was good and the only member of staff i saw smile the all inclusive drinks were just local beer, local ouzo, vodka ,red and white wine 'coke and sprite no whiskey ,rum, or cocktails etc bar shuts 10pm on the dot if your queing for a drink and someone in front takes till 1min past 10 you wont get served rooms only cleaned twice a week {a guest was even offered cleaning products to clean their own room} when they did clean the room a 5 year old could do a better job the pool is cold the sea is warmer and only 50 yards away this is bulgaria and i wasnt expecting too much but even for a budget hotel the experience was shocking…
This hotel is worth 2 stars, not 4. furniture is old, stained, windows are dirty, curtains coming off, carpets full of old hairs, bathroom stinks. Food is untasty, cheap, there is not much variety. There is no cleaning of the rooms, just change of towels. And if you return them dirty, you have to pay for them! There is nothing for the kids, except the childrens swimming pool, which is so cold that you're afraid to put your kids into it. You have to pay for every little thing (drinks, wifi, safety box), even the ugly pictures at the restaurant are on sale. Looks like the owner of the hotel is ready to sell off anything. I would never go back and don't reccommend Lilia Hotel to anyone.
