The hotel is spacious and clean. Big thanks to lovely reception team. They are all fantastic. Housekeeping team also does great job. Most bar staff were lovely as well. There is one woman who is absolutely shocking. Looks like one of the supervisors who had to cover bar and her behaviour is vile. Snappy , aggressive and clearly not enjoyong it. Disgraceful behaviour towards paying customers. Have to admit never seen anything like it in any hotels we have been to.
Rooms are very spacious and comfortable with WiFi, fridge and air con. There is hair dryer in the bathroom and air dryer for clothes. Big closet ,tv and in general very comfortable conditions for your stay. There are signs to not take food our of dining room ,however you see tons of people doing it and not one staff reacting. Same with filling drinks bottles.
Plenty coffee machines and drink dispensers, but running out quick and staff are not to keen to replace it straight away.
Wanted to say Big thanks to Ivo (bartender ). He definitely made our stay enjoyable and one of the kindest staff in Atlas.
I think management has some improvements to make and definitely need to provide customer service training to some staff. They need to learn to respect people who spend their hard earned money for them to have a job.

We had to chose a last minute hotel in golden sands for a family wih 2 small children's. atlas gave us a good deal for an all inclusive package weekend. The rooms are not that large when you have 2 children bads in the same dbl room. Maybe better to take the apartment. The room design is a bit old but in the local standards considered OK. The room was cleaned every day and the cleaning ladies was nice and efficient. I didn't like the flor is a parquet because when you come from the sea it get sandy quickly. The pillow was teririble. was hard lie a rock, abosultly bed!
Food is considered ok. Breakfast is good . They also serve oanacakes for the children. Lunch was not good at all and dinner was ok. What iliked is that they have children food area with kids menu ( paste, chiken nuggets and similars..) but it can look a bit better, a little bit more attantion and a small touch on tastes can improve it very fast to be a very good food selection.

Coffee is horrible!!! We are used to a coffee diet in varna, I'm still waiting for the investors which wil open coffee shops in this seaside but mainly it's only me the coffee addict.... Snacks are a bit poor but was again ok considering the price. Could be nice if the soft free drinks will include also diet cola and not oly sugar added drinks.

The hotel staff is mixed. Receptionists are not that kinds ..meaning - yes they smile but can't really help when it's needed. E.g : I asked for dolpinarium information. The lady tried too look for a leaflet but couldn't find it so told me- im sorry I don't have any info. Was it too hard to take a look by the net and give me the info ? ( took me 3 minutes to do I alone.).
Seems like they are " tired" or not really trained.
Pool area: they provdie ou wth pool towls when ever you want . the pool was clean and had a nice atmosphere interior pool and exterior as well. One of The lifeguard was rood. He was working at the pool on 13.7.2013 morning and as we came a bit early to the pool (8:45) , 15 minutes before starting of the opening hours, he looked at us in bossy look and shouted " closed closed". It seems he feels like he is the master of the pool....he could easily came nicely and say "sorry It's closed, we are cleaning please come again in 15 minutes. " with a smile. My Kids did not understand why he is shouting on us...
On the other hand the animation team was great, friendly and active. My children enjoyed every attraction they offered .

Location: you must know it is not close to the sea. These are 5-7 minutes from up at the hotel to the sea area. Back is a bit hard because you need to climb. For our pregnant friend it was a bit hard so at the evenings back we talk the small train shuttle , the kids enjoyed it and it brings you directly to the hotel. The minus is the shuttle price- 2 euro per person per 3 minutes ride is too much when you are 4!

How we enjoyed the vacation ? Very much! We had a nice time with our kids at the sea site and the pool.
The animation was great and we had lots of food... Will we return this hotel ? I'm not sure, only if we will have again a last minutes situation with no he options, but in general we all say the vacation was great and the hotel was not bad !

Yesterday (July 3 2014) we came back from an 8 days vacation in Atlas Hotel, Golden Sands.

First, I must say that is was one of the cheapest 4* hotel in Golden Sands, having average reviews from travelers, so I didn't had big expectations about.
Next, my only previous experience (in order to make a comparison) with All Inclusive and Bulgaria, was Iberostar Sunny Beach Resort (in 2012 and 2013) , 4* also, but almost double price.

ROOMS: Big, simple furniture, not such a good quality.
CLEANING IN ROOM: We had the room at an extremity of the hotel, and cleaning was always coming after 1:30 PM. We use to sleep in the afternoon, and we left the "Do not disturb" hanger from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. For two days we didn't had our room cleaned (they should have try other hours...) until we went and ask for cleaning at the reception.
The room floor was never cleaned in 8 days. Cleaning meant only towels change and garbage pick-up.
RESTAURANT: Food was good, I can't complain.
CLEANING IN RESTAURANT: This was a total disaster. Tables were not cleaned, there were food leftovers and stains remaining, we had to clean the tables ourselves. Table clothes not changed when dirty. When we asked a waitress to clean the table we wanted to sit at, she was very irritated about it.
STAFF: Not smiling, not friendly, excepting animators.
POOL AREA: Quite small, crowded.

My conclusion is that the food and conditions were according to the money paid, which is good. But in means of cleaning and friendly staff, the number of stars and the amount of money should not make a difference.

I have to mention that they gave us the bracelets after 2:30 PM so we cannot take lunch on the arrival. This never happened to us in any of the other All Inclusive hotels we stayed last years.

TIPS: the hotel doesn't have private beach and sunbeds, but they are partners with Astera Hotel, having discounts on the beds price (5 BGN) and you get also free access to the beach bar. It was a nice deal.

Very bad WI-FI in lobby.

Hotel is not on the beach line, there were 67 stairs to it :).

I enjoyed the stay overall, but I will never come back to Atlas.

The services are very good, food is allways diversified and fresh, the staff is helpuf and very respectful, the animation team is the best team that I have seen in Bulgaria they are fun and full of life, the rooms are large and clean, the manager is kind and helpful, at the bar the beverages are diversified. We stayed in the Atlas Hotel in Golden Sands for 2 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed it!
This is a lovely hotel with great facilities. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and well-kept. The Pools are great, the staff friendly and the food very nice.

The Hotel is near the main part of the resort and in a great position for the aqua park.

Going back to Golden Sands again next year!

I stayed at this hotel when it was only 6 months old. The shower was leaking so there was mould growing on the wall of the room!!

The maid took around 5 minutes to "clean" the room! Some days, she didn't even bother to make the bed!!

The lobby and bar areas were nicely maintained, but you had great difficulty getting served unless you were German or Russian, as they pushed you out the way!!

The pool area was nice, but I have never experienced a pool so cold! I couldn't even submerge myself, it was like iced water!! There was a path leading down from other, cheaper hotels down to the street below. As such, people from these hotels were using the facilties and not paying the fee as they should! Annoying when spaces were at a premium!

I was on a half board option. Normally I can eat anythng with no problems and I'm not a fussy eater. I only ate at the hotel twice and both of us had very dodgy tummies for days afterwards!! The food was luke warm and disgusting!! We had to pay to eat elsewhere for every meal, just as well that Bulgaria is a cheap place to eat! I'm not hard to please and I'm generally very laid back but the whole experience was awful!! It was a first to be glad to leave your holiday behind!! Not that I relished the thought of getting on the Balkan flight again! I cannot believe they are allowed to operate! Very old and battered with both toilets backed up!!! Scary from start to finish.

The Bulgarian people are generally very nice and friendly and the beaches are lovely. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. With the food poisoning and mould in the room, I caught a viral infection and was signed off work for 2 weeks on my return home!! I dont expect much on holiday, but I do expect cleanliness and edible meals.

We were there in late aug till 6 september 2014 with 2 kids, one had only 2 months!!!
At the begining we were aspecting problems due the bad reviews ....but ...nice surprise, even the hotel was 100% full the food was good and tasty, and enough . In the morning we stayed 5-10 minutes after the pen cakes. We were surprised almost every day with trout, salmon, ocean fish turkey, beef etc.
We don t drink alcool but the wine smelled ok....
The sleep was ok big rooms confy matraces quiet after 10.30
We stayed at 2nd floor and we didn t always use the lift which usually is crouded.
In conclusion i recomand it for all kinds of turists because it s clean, close to the sea, lots of activities even a Beach bar!!!, good food, relaxing sleep worths it s money for sure!!!
For what we payed we sure are satisfied...you must be rezonable for 550 Eu / family per week you can t get more anywhere!

Excellent price/quality report. The food was very good and various, good location.
The room was clean and spacious (we booked a studio).
The animation team was SUPER!!! Kids loved the animation team.
Nice indoor and outdoor pool, with warm water.
The bar was ultra all inclusive and have import and export drinks.
Why I did not liked:
- The grumpy old lifeguard
- I booked through booking.com and I had a price displayed and at the reception they askeded an additional amount (130 euro)
- The gym should be fixed a little bit because a lot of equipment not working.
- the free wifi was awful and very, veryyyy slow.
- the coffee was awful, but I had instant coffee and I added into and it was drinkable.

Besides the inconveniences, it was a nice vacation and I would recommend this hotel.

The staff is friendly. The hotel is very well kept. We were upgraded to an apartment which featured a nice cozy living room, a spacious bedroom, two balconies and two bathrooms. The AC kept the temperature just right, we had plenty of clean towels at our disposal, there was hot water 24/7 and the bed was comfortable. Also the view from the balcony was beautiful.

On the downside but not major issues would be the fact that the water in the indoor pool was a little bit too cold and the tv in the bedroom didn't function well (the one in the living room worked perfectly).

The food seemed to be good, there was a little bit of everything, however I cannot give my personal opinion since I'm very picky when it comes to food and I have only tried their snacks.

The only major problem I had was the wifi - the one in the lobby was so weak I couldn't even check my emails and you had to pay to have access to wifi in your room.

The location of the hotel is kind of hard to find if you don't constantly check a map, but that has more to do with the way the streets are organized, it's not the hotel's fault.

All in all, we had a lovely stay. Would visit again.
