Wouldn't recommend Staff rude, rather unpleasant when we arrived we noticed our safe wasn't working, member of staff arrived and fixed the issue, we said thank you, and he stood in the doorway with his hand out, me and my partner started unpacking very awkwardly and he said "have you got something for me" We wanted to leave hotel immediately. we felt very uncomfortable. We were b&b , food was ok! You get a free spa voucher at check in which was a nice touch, but be aware when you book you will feel forced into upgrading the treatment for more £ Will never return

Helena Sands is part of Helena Resort which has a sister hotel called Helena Park just over a foot bridge. We actually booked to stay at Helena Park as it is all inclusive and Helena Sands if half board. When we arrived we were booked into the Sands but still all inclusive ( I found out later that the Park was virtually closed as Covid had reduced guest numbers). The hotel was excellent and the food choices and quality were amazing. Our room had a kettle and a fridge ( the fridge had drinks in it but they were chargeable), a free to use safe and TV. There was a fridge in the lobby bar which had bottles of water that were free. Pool towels were free to use (you got a card for them at check in). The balcony had a washing line and table and chairs. Unfortunately you couldn't have an iron in your room due to health & safety! The hotel was full (200 rooms) and my only slight disappointment was there was only one hot drinks machine and one toast machine at breakfast. However, I would come back at the drop of a hat.

Food was excellent. The bar staff not as friendly to the all inclusive guests. Rooms great and clean. The entertainment took a lot to be desired it was very poor especially for the children. One hour then nothing. Lacked that special touch but could be down to after covid … things take time to recover. Enjoyed it but wouldn’t.

A really beautiful hotel, well positioned on the edge of Sunny Beach. The food was excellent, with a great selection, but the evening entertainment was limited while I was there (September 22). Plenty of beach loungers and a lovely pool area. Worth hopping on a bus to visit Nessebar, such a beautiful little old town, but beware, the buses are very, very packed ! I was so pleased that I had chosen this hotel, as its position made it so much more relaxed than the more central hotels. I would certainly stay in this hotel again, if I go back to Sunny Beach.

From start to finish the staff at the Helena Sands were excellent, helpful, friendly and polite, the food in the restaurant albeit a buffet service was excellent and the best all inclusive I have had. The hotel suite although now needing new carpets and a decoration was of a very good size and spotless as we're all communal areas. The bar area was a good size, the staff friendly, however in my opinion the local spirits left a lot to be desired. The overall ambience of the bar area was spoilt as it seems to be the 5 star hotel used by the local Bulgarian Mafia, as mentioned by other reviews. Overall though if you could pick this hotel up, "minus the Bulgarian Mafia", and place at my next all inclusive I would be well happy. Overall Sunny Beach is a good holiday destination, we've done it once and that was enough.

We arrived the week before the end of the season and everywhere was starting to close down. We were originally booked into Helena park but were moved to Helena sands a few weeks previously. As we were all inclusive this was also the case at this hotel. The hotel was probably beautiful when it was built but it is starting to show its age now. The people on reception were lovely and very helpful. The bar staff not so much as a smile really. On all inclusive you can only use the lobby bar and the bar at Helena park for your drinks. The pool bar and the inside bar at Helena park was a much more pleasant atmosphere as the lobby bar felt a bit like a Bulgarian mafia convention at times. The animation team that does the mini disco were lovely and tried hard to give the kids a great time. The food is a typical all inclusive menu. Quite edible and I am sure there is something for most pallets. The drinks on all inclusive were all local spirits and very generous measures. The bedrooms are a little tired and dated but very clean and there are no English channels on the tv except for the 24hr news. There is a mini fridge with a few drinks in that were complimentary. The beds are very firm and I did not find them comfortable but I like a softer mattress. The cleaning staff are amazing and beds are made and rooms cleaned every day. We had a great time at the beach and were lucky with the weather. The outdoor pools were very cold but the indoor pool was fine for the kids to splash around in.

my friend and i were booked to stay in the helena park but were put here instead. the hotel is very clean . food was good but i found it sometimes to be just luke warm . pool is absolutly freezing , so we tended to go to the beach as the sea was slightly warmer than the pool . there was no entertainment in the evening which for me was very boring so we went out in the evenings . the hotel is not really geared up to be all inclusive , the pool bar , beach bar , and fish restaurant were not part of the AI package , so for drinks you had to keep going inside. rooms are very spacious and cleaned daily . Sunny beach resort is nothing special but the beach is lovely . Over all i enjoyed my holiday here and would return

I have visited this hotel already 6 times. It is the best holliday hotel that I know. We always enjoy the time here. It is a great place for children. The beach is just great. Hotel has its own beach and swimming pool. Service is really top. We love the food. The hotel is quiet - it is at the end of Sunny Beach and all the noise is far away. Excellent Illy coffee. Money exchange for fair rate is directly at the reception. There is a small indoor pool and fitness center. Top quality rooms with 5 star service. It is really a top choice. I can higly recommend you this place. I guarantee that you will be fully satisfied.

Hotel is nice, food is good, no complaints there. Pool very cold. Unfortunately we can’t recommend it because of some of the male staff, they are unpleasant, rude, we ask for weak drinks ( alcoholic ones ) & they make them so strong they are undrinkable. We had booked for Helena Park & didn’t know until we arrived, that we had been put in the Sands, this is not a AI hotel but obviously they have to honour our booking, they seem to resent this, but that’s not our fault that we are in here. They , including some reception staff, are making our holiday here very unpleasant, if we could, we would have left within a couple of days. We dread going to the bar. We work hard for our money & regret giving them any of it. The cleaners are friendly & the lady in the Park hotel bar is very nice, what I would expect from hospitality. Such a shame that people think it’s acceptable to treat people like this, disgusting really. Lovely hotel, absolutely ruined by some staff, we feel like we are a real inconvenience to them, it may be because it’s getting towards the end of the season, which is no excuse, I imagine they like repeat bookings, i can’t think that many people would come back here.

We have just returned from a week at the Helena Sands hotel. We had a lovely sea view room with a balcony which was very roomy with a fantastic view of the Black Sea and the pool area. Our room was a little dated and the carpet was badly marked, but the room was clean. The food was plentiful and fresh and as we were half board we had breakfast and dinner included with our stay. The free beds and parasols on the beach were good to have and the water looks pretty clean. There was a little bit of vegetation floating around and of course the jellyfish were still in residence. They are pretty harmless but not my favourite to share the sea with! The hotel is located to the far north end of Sunny Beach which appealed to me as it was a bit quieter and not in the middle of the madness that is Sunny Beach of tacky stalls selling plastic rubbish and fake goods. All in all we had a good time and I would recommend staying here.
