Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Meliá Sunny Beach is celebrated for its prime location, just a stone's throw from the beach and local attractions, delighting guests with the convenience it offers. While the value proposition divides opinion—some finding it a bargain, others questioning the cost—travelers are united in their appreciation of the hotel's cleanliness and the spaciousness of the rooms. The atmosphere and noise levels receive mixed reviews, with entertainment and tranquility varying by personal experience. Guests commend the range of amenities, despite some mentions of cold pools, and service quality is generally good, though it occasionally falls short for some.

I try and mention all the little things that I guess people search for in the comments section. My Wife and I stayed for 11 nights in a sea view room on the 7th Floor block A between 19th June and the 30th June. This is my impression of the resort.
ARRIVAL
We arrived around 1:30am and were checked in quickly. We were given our wristbands which also double as a room key which I thought was a great idea. We were on the 7th floor in block 1 or A which ever you call it. We were given our pool cards which you can exchange for pool towels between 0830 & 1830hrs or get fresh towels. We were advised that there was a late buffet available, however this was just cheese, bread and ham which you made yourself. There was no information provided about opening times of restaurants etc. A porter took our luggage to our room for us and showed how to use the safe.
THE ROOM
We had paid the extra for a pool view room which I recommend. The bed was comfortable however the duvets were for singles. The Aircon worked quite well and can be kept on. Storage was a little disappointing as there was no drawers anywhere. There was a large wardrobe and smaller one which contained shelves and the safe. The larger wardrobe had a number of hangers and room for your own should you bring some. There were only two sockets, one on the dressing table and one near the floor at the side of the bed. There was a chair for the dressing table. Lighting was ok with plenty of fittings but not very bright. There was a sofa which turned into another bed should you need it. There was also a table and another chair in the room. The safe was free to use and of a decent size. Please remember not to lock it when checking out as next guest will have to get reception to open it with a key so you can put your own code in (Yes this happened to us!). The bathroom was good except the shower was over a bath which can be an issue with less mobile people. Water pressure was good as was available hot water. There was a fixed hair dryer which my other half did not complain about so apart from having to dry her hair in bathroom was good. Towels were changed daily and bed linen I think weekly. There’s a volume control outside the bathroom which will pipe music into the bathroom. The bed was only made when the linen was changed but we do tend to keep it tidy anyway. The balcony was good with 2 chairs and a table with hash tray. There was also a clothes airer and the railings where of a decent height. The view allowed us to see all 3 pools and was fun watching people putting towels out in the mornings.
There was a decent flat screened TV in the room. This did not work as the UHF lead to it was faulty. I reported this to reception and it was quickly fixed. There are only a few English-speaking channels DW English, Al Jazeera news, and Euro news Channel. No BBC world Service here I’m afraid. I know you don’t come on holiday to watch TV but its good to keep up with the news while your other half is getting ready.
There were 2 glasses and 2 cups but no kettle. We had brought our own coffee and hot chocolate so I went down to request a kettle. The reception manager advised that there was over 1500 rooms and so not practical. Before I could complain he advised that each floor had a machine that did coffee, Hot Chocolate and Hot water. We tried it I found it excellent. The Cappuccino coffee was fab and we always had a Hot Coco at night. Why other hotels do this I don’t know.
WIFI
Wi-Fi is free to use although sometimes I had issues logging in
FOOD
The larger blocks A,B & C all have restaurants, however during the majority of our stay only one in block A seemed to be in in use especially at Lunch. I think block C opened later in the Holiday but only for breakfast and dinner. The hotel was relatively busy so you can imagine what meals times were like. It was manic during peak times with hordes of people moving between serveries. Finding a table could be difficult although there was additional seating around the indoor stage area. There was a limited number of tables outside however this was taking your life in your hands as the seagulls took no prisoners. They constantly circle the pool areas both day and night and will devour any food left unattended.
The food was of a pretty good quality but got a bit repetitive. Breakfast was certainly the best. The English bacon counter was excellent and was available every day except one. My full English was fab with hash browns, scrambled egg, fried egg, English bacon, sausage and baked beans. There was also a large selection of other offerings which seemed to be the same every day but were good. It meant after a couple of days you knew where to get what you wanted quickly. Drinks where self service but were good, fresh orange from machine but things like pineapple juice for a jug. Lots of soft drinks and various coffees available.
Lunch and Dinner was a little disappointing as the meats on offer where general the same e.g. pork steak, pork kebab, turkey, veal, fish and sometimes beef. There were always chips and the salad bar was pretty good. At Lunch and Dinner there’s self-service beer and wine (white, Red & Rosie) as well as soft drinks and coffees. Deserts on the over hand were very good. All with fresh cream and very tasty. There was a selection of ice cream lollipops available.
The staff worked tirelessly to ensure anything was super clean. It took seconds to refresh a table which was always sprayed and laid perfectly for the next guests. It was quite amazing watching the staff who despite being run off their feet were always courteous and helpful. The serveries although mega busy were quickly restocked and I never waited too long.
Breakfast was from 0730hrs to 1000hrs. A late breakfast option was available from the pool snack bar which opened at 1000hrs.
Lunch was between 1230 & 1430hrs and Dinner 1800 to 2100hrs
The poolside snack bar was open 1000 to 1600hrs with last orders at 1545hrs. The snack bar served a late breakfast 1000 to 1100hrs. Then from 1200hrs to closing served Hamburgers, Hot dogs, Pork Ribs, Chicken wings and chips. I must say it was excellent and always very popular.
In the afternoon a trolley with biscuits would appear near the pool bar and again this was very popular.
AI DRINKS
All Drinks inside hotel and are served in glasses. Drinks around pool are served in paper cups. The Beer was self-service as was coffee, hot chocolate, and soft drinks. There was a limited number of cocktails but not too bad. Shorts, Cocktails and ice if required were served at the indoor and the pool bar. Measures were not bad really but the beer tasty but not really strong. The pool bar staff were amazing. They could be making several drinks and taking multiple orders at the same time. They were always pleasant and because they were super-fast it never took long to be served.
POOL
There are 3 main pools with a number of small children’s pools and pool with an octopus children’s slide which looked quite good. There also a heated indoor pool with limited loungers.
The 2 pools between blocks A & B are identical as are the blocks themselves. There are no ladders but there are steps at each end with railing so getting in and out was easy. These freshwater pools were 1.45m in the shallow end and 1.70m in the deep end. They both seemed very cold and there was no sign of any heating.
The other large pool outside block C was 1m deep with good access via steps. It was very popular with children and was heated. Although it seemed cold if you were dry, it seemed like a hot bath if you had been in the other pools. The children’s octopus pool was not heated and as with all the smaller pools was 30cm deep.
The indoor pool looked good and displayed temperature was warm but did not have many loungers. It quickly filled up when the weather was inclement.
There were 3 water slides, the red one being quite fun. They operated from 1000 to 1200 then from 1500 to 1700. There were life guards on all slides and pools although at times certain guards seem to be missing in action.
There are loads of sunbeds, however they are packed in quite tightly. There are a number of parasols and small tables but not enough. Problem is a parasol and table nearly take up the space of a sunbed so more parasols mean less sunbeds. This can become an issue when it’s hot. With the early morning towel brigade, it was common to see parasols being moved all over the place as they reserved their favorite spots. This can cause friction which I do know about as I got embroiled in a heated argument over the stealing of a parasol while at lunch. If you do need a parasol and none can be found just ask a member of staff who will try and find one for you. They have concrete bases so are not that easy to move anyway.
My other half uses a wheelchair so we really needed to be near the steps. When we first got there, we could get a decent location around 8am. Be time we were leaving if you had not put your towel down by 7am you struggled to get anywhere near the steps. Large groups seem to be block blocking sections with towels and not turning up till the afternoon which is not fair really. The hotel as signs in the lifts not to reserve beds but no one takes any notice. All you can do is play the game unfortunately.
If June is not the busy period, then I would not like to see what it’s like in August
BEACH
The beach can be accessed by going out the front of the hotel. Then across a small road and over a so-called bridge which is really loads of small boards across the ground than feels like a hump backed bridge. Once over you are on the promenade. You then turn left for around 300 feet and you will see a sign on the right next to path saying Melia Sunny Beach. The private beach area is around 60ft up the path.
The Hotel as a section with a large number of free loungers with parasols. There is a beach bar serving food and drinks from 1000hrs and a couple of Toilets. Infront of the Melia sun loungers are some other paid for loungers not linked to the hotel. The beach is lovely soft sand and it’s a good 150 feet to the waters edge. The sea itself was clear and relatively shallow although there is a slight drop in level at the edge of the surf. Temperature wise the sea was not bad and certainly warmer than the pools. We did not use the sunbeds on the beach as it was too much hassle with the wheelchair.
ENTERTAINMENT
The Animation team put on kids activities and adult competitions during the day. I tried the Rifle Shooting and Archery and it was good fun. If you win the get presented with certificate at the evening show. There was also Table Tennis, Yoga and Aqua Gym.
The Kids evening entertainment starts at 2030hrs and lasts till 2100hrs. They call it the Mini Mini Disco and do the same stuff every night but the kids love it and I must admit the songs do stick in your head.
The adult entertainment although Kids do take part starts at 2130hrs and lasts till 2230hrs. Some of the shows are excellent and are professionals brought in. The Magic show was amazing so please do not miss it. Most of the others are pretty good except live music which turned out to be Karaoke!
The seating for the show is not that great as it’s a covered outside stage but most of the seating is open to the elements and split into two by a toilet block. Two nights when it was packed the heavens opened and a stampede happened. The second time we were all asked to move to the indoor stage however that doubles as a dining hall so it was crammed to say the least.
OUTSIDE HOTEL
Its like Blackpool but seems to go on forever. If you go out of the front of the hotel there are shops selling all sorts of stuff. Turn left and after a short distance there is a fun fair and a bit further on you will intersect with Flower Street. This is where most of the young ones hang out. Plenty of bars and clubs although its quite quiet during the day. Turn right on flower street and within a couple of hundred feet you will be on the promenade. This goes for miles with none stop souvenir shops, bag shops, tee shirts, shooting galleries, bars etc.
The good news is that drinks and food are cheap. You could get a large beer for 1.90 Leva which is around 87p just off flower street and 2.90 Leva on it.
We decided to have a trip to Nesebar old town which is a must really. We decided to catch the road train of which there are plenty and ended up catching the wrong one and paying for a taxi for the rest of the way. It costs around 30 Leva for a Taxi to Nesebar. I recommend getting the water taxi from the pier at the end of Flower Street. Its 15 Leva each which is around £6.88. It takes 30mins and goes to the old town Harbour.
Nesebar old town is lovely. Its an Island with and manmade causeway for vehicle access. The Town fortifications are impressive although not all intact. We went round the perimeter of the island on a wide path and stopped off at some lovely bars over looking the sea. The town itself as cobbled streets and quint shops with lovely cafes everywhere. A beer here costs 4.5 Leva although we found a lovely café and had a main course with 2 drinks for around £13 for both.
TIPPING
I liked the way the Hotel worked. We went to Turkey a month earlier and did a five star AI. We found the level of service you received was linked to how much you tipped everyone. I don’t like this so I was very impressed that everyone got excellent service no matter if you tipped or not. There are tipping boxes in the restaurant’s reception and bars but I always tip for receiving good service and not to get good service so well-done Melia.
CURRENCY EXCHANGE
There are plenty of places to exchange money and to be honest they are pretty much the same to within a tenth of a Leva. The rate we got in the Hotel was 2.18 Leva per Pound. We found this to be very competitive with outside booths including the ones with a crown symbol either the same or slight lower. We did around £50 at a time but at the end of the Holiday we had quite a bit left so decided to change it back. It cost around 2.27 Leva to the pound to buy back. We ended up buying Euros as this was a good rate and we could use them for future Holidays. Two things to note. Firstly, the Airport is mega Expensive. A medium latte at the Airport is 10 Leva so be aware. The second thing is that Bulgaria is changing to the Euro in 2025 so unless your coming back before then get them changed.
CHECK OUT
Check out is at 1200hrs. We did not need a late check out so cannot comment on charges etc. We had exchanged our pool towels back to cards so simply handed them in at reception. Our wrist bands were cut off and we waited in the seating area.
CONCLUSION
Would I come back, No as we tend to try different places… Would I recommend it… Yes if the price is right.
TOP TIP
Get a pool view room it’s well worth it

This hotel was absolutely perfect. Personal was professional and kind. Food was amazing. Every day something different. Plenty of food was available during the day as well including lovely icecream. Indian restaurant was available if you want a change. Free slides, minigolf, deckchair. Animation team was superb, evening show every night. Clean rooms. Nice beach. A lot of available alcohol and drinks, barman could do almost anything. Even though we were there after COVID, the hotel took it very professionally, everywhere there were descinfection points available and personal had face masks and gloves. Absolutely lovely holiday!

First time in Bulgaria, picked the Melia due to its location amenities and good reviews. Stayed as a family of four, two adults, two teenagers in one of the family suites in block C, the room was huge, with a balcony overlooking one of the pools. The cleaners did an amazing job, fresh towels and room cleaned everyday, really couldn't fault it.
The melia really does accommodate for families, there's loads to do for children with kids club, waterslides, pool, arcade games and evening entertainment. They cater for all different tastes with their all inclusive food which I found fresh and plentiful (even English bacon for breakfast). You will never go hungry here, I never used the snack bar but my family stated that the burgers were amazing, they certainly looked it. One slight (very slight) recommendation would be to increase the number of toasters at breakfast, as you have to toast your own there can be quite a queue!
I am at a loss why people moan about this hotel, yes if you want a sunbed right at the front of the pool then you need to get up to get one, however, a few rows back and there is availability all day, I read a negative review about mosquito bites.....what! how is this the hotels fault?? I had an amazing stay and loved everything about it. Its a large hotel (the largest I've stayed in) and caters for a phenomenal amount of people, but obviously you know this as you've booked it. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone, young or old, family or not family. I will always give an honest review, which is my opinion on the stay I had. The beach is a stones throw away and again, one of the nicest beaches I've been on, the melia have a bar on the beach with snacks so you have everything you need.

Well done Melia, what a lovely time my family had at your hotel, I will definitely be booking again.

Thank you very much for your great review Shippers123456. We are very very happy that you enjoyed with your family the holidays in our complex and could taste all the different food offer we have, the different installations for the kids and animations activities. The rooms are made for families, especially in the Block C area where you were staying, as the hotel itself, too, but also many couples do enjoy at the same the stay with us. Sunbed needs will be always an issue, even so the hotel delivered and has put many more, including to introduce some restriction measures as well, which need a bit of time to adapt guest to and to avoid unnecessary reservations. The mosquito problem -- well, something we as hotel cannot much influence on the nature around, sharing surely your opinion about this comment. We will be very happy and delighted to welcome you back for another stay with us. Hopefully this can be realized, and you will enjoy once more all our installations and facilities of the MELIA Sunny Beach. In the meantime, we wish you all the best, thanking you for the time to express and write this honest and grateful review, remaining with best regards, Your MELIA Sunny Beach Team Guest Experience Management

Just returned from a week spend in this location. Nice rooms with good size, very clean and towels changed in time. For us the quality of beds was poor and during nights is cold.
Due to covid crisis we gave been served by their staff and even with all inuclusive package every day one of us remained hungry.
The private beach is 10 minutes walk and is situated on the second part of the beach so no change to stay and enjoy sea.
Hotel is designed for families so no change for a lazy evening by the pool.
We wanted to stay one extra night one price was comunicated on Monday...one price on Thursday...
We made the reservation with the travel agency from RO and we received half of the price from reception.
Unfortunatly nobody was paying attention to rules in place.
Overall was good but ....not excellent!

Dear Daniela D, Your honest and detailed remarks will help us to do the necessary modifications to increase our hotel’s quality. We thank you for your stay with us and we assure you we are continually giving the best service to our lovely guests. Great that you enjoyed your stay and liked our comfortable rooms. You mentioned that your bed wasn't very comfortable and we just wanted to inform that on your next stay, if you could mention this to our Guest Relations team, we can help by sending a mattress topper to your room, or another pillow if you prefer. However, we are disappointed that you didn't like our beach, which is just 100 meters away to hotel and despite of the fact its location is not close to the seas water, our private beach is loved by the most of our guests. Our overnight prices at reception are based either on different season periods, or special offers, thus maybe there was a price shift in the meantime. Whatsoever please accept our apologize for this confusion. Most of our guests are very satisfied with the quality and the wide range what we offer. Beside that we are believing in the constant development and we are working on to renew it. We do apologize because we could not fulfill your expectation and we are mostly sorry about that we could not noticed your dissatisfaction during your stay because we could have immediately solved your problem. If you'll be willing to give us another chance we will gladly convince you from our hospitality and great service which we are known for by our guests. Best regards, Your Meliá Sunny Beach team

Overall the hotel and staff offer a good family holiday. The family room we had with a pool and partial sea view was very spacious and very clean, modern and with everything you need. The safe cost an extra 60lev which I thought should be included in room cost, but my choice to purchase.

The activities and services available are what is advertised and overall we’re good. However the Wi-Fi which they say is high speed is what I can only describe as not fit for purpose, as it is always dropping out or you can not connect.

The evening entertainment is predominantly done by the internal entertainment team and whilst I am sure they have a limited budget and I don’t want to come across as criticising those team members that work hard to entertain everyone … it was lacking in entertainment value. The 2 nights in which external entertainment came into hotel proved a success with the audience as it was both entertaining and had audience participation. Only problem week 2 same shows 😳

The food was good and plenty of choice with the Chinese and Indian restaurants also serving a different option if you fancy a change.

I would like to say a big thank you to the staff who work at the hotel as they all seem to work very hard to make the holiday enjoyable for everyone, also those who we do not see working hard preparing all the food and keeping the facilities and rooms clean.

A big thank you to the staff at the 66 restaurant and pool bar who whilst always very busy, always smiled and had a polite greeting to offer to everyone when serving the snacks.

Finally what really Let down the hotel was the availability of sun beds at both the pool and beach… a lot of visitors leave their towels on beds and do not return till very later in the day leaving those who actually want to spend time at the pool or beach as a group or family can not get beds together. The hotel do try a system to remove the towels from beds which are not being used early in the morning but only fold them and put them in the table between the beds… in my opinion if you have put your towels down at 7/8 o’clock you should be with your towels… so they should remove the towels fully and allow those who turn up who want to sunbathe or swim have beds available at pool or beach.

Dear Dandy D, Thank you very much for your honest and great review about your stay with us. We are happy that you overall enjoyed the holidays with us, and all your positive comments about the staff will be redirected to the concerned departments. Of course your substantial critics we take very much in serious and will have a look into them with our entertainment chef concerning the program and the different shows. Even so the program should cater for a huge variety of guests, not always we are able to match all tastes, and after a certain period, some shows might get repetitive. Nevertheless, we do have additions in mind to improve whereas is necessary within our entertainment program, trying to offer more variety in future. The sunbeds and reservation by guests, even so in all our publications we ask guests not to do so, is an issue which we are trying to solve each moment. We added much more sunbeds, too, to comply with the needs, we installed the remove of the towels when sunbeds are not used, and we installed as well clocks at the sunbeds on the beach to control and restrict the reservation of such. With our staff we do the utmost to get the best form implemented, even so not always it is working out. We will remove once more in the afternoon the towels, too, to help all guests to have access to not used sunbeds. We hope very much, that all our measure will be successful, notifying already certain results about. Hopefully we can welcome you soon again for another holiday stay with us, wishing you all the best in the meantime and remaining with kind regards. Your MELIA Sunny Beach Team Guest Experience Management

The standard is good. Location is very good. Close to the beech and provides sunbeds, parasols and a beech bar. The battle for sunbeds begins about 0630 every morning. Towels are placed over the prime sunbeds The hotel staff did remove some unattended towels but folded them neatly and placed them at the side. No one dare to step up and take one of these sunbeds. The owners retuned late morning and reclaimed the sunbeds. There were not enough sunbeds !!!! There are a number of pools but be warned the water is freezing. On our second to last day, it was too cold to go in. It was such a shame that these pools remained largely unused. The restaurants were too busy !!! Pick your time carefully to avoid queuing . On a lunch time they only open 2 of the 3 restaurants which compounds the problem. The food is fine, varied and there is something for everyone. The table waiters were efficient at clearing the tables and re-setting them.Avoid the so called Chinese restaurant. Pick your own base foods and cook them at your table in a pot. Along with several other groups, we walked out at this stage. Nearby there are loads of bars and places to eat. The beech is great but very busy. The sea is warmer than the hotel pools although a little choppy at times.Loads of hot water for showers. The evening entertainment wasn't very good at all. If you like a busy hotel with queues for everything then this is fine. Otherwise pick somewhere a bit smaller.
Sadly, we won't be returning.

Dear Mick G, We thank you very much for your constructive critical review. All the raised issues, we take very much in serious, working permanently on improving services and parts which are in your opinion not working well. Unfortunately the issue with reserving sunbeds at early hours is an ongoing subject, everywhere in the hotel business. We have taken measures as yourself mentioned, to control and organize this better, working out so far in a manner that less and less guests are reserving the sunbeds and then for hours not using. On the beach we have installed clocks for the use, 60 min granted to be away, with a clear description guest should respect. Our staff is behind permanently to get this part improved on a daily basis. Additional we have installed more sunbeds in the last week/s to cover the need of our guests. Lately there are always sunbeds available to find, even so not always at the place one desire. Out of the 4 big pools, 2 are heated (indoor and pool in front of C). The others are normal warming or refreshing, used by many guests (always full to our observation..), and with 30-35 degree C outside temperature, a great refreshing too for many of our guests. Restaurants on Lunch Time are sometimes more frequented and busy as on a lot of days, big arrivals and departures come together. Therefore in some parts queues may arise. A part from these restaurants, we have as well a German Biergarten, a Pizza Station and the Snack Bar open, where guests can have lunch for their choice. With a hotel fully occupied, sometimes waiting moments may occurred, even so our staff is fast to assistant and prepare all food and tables at maximum speed. The Chinese Restaurant for sure is a sort of experience for guests, having many of them who liked it to prepare their own food as this as well is part of the new form of hotel & food experience nowadays offered. It is up to everyone's taste to use or not this restaurant form, respecting your opinion, as others ,too. We feel sorry that we could not match in these points your expectations. Nevertheless, a part from the critics mentioned, we hope you enjoyed the holidays with us so far and would be happy welcoming you again. Wishing you all the best, remaining with kind regards, MS, Guest Experience Management

We’ve just returned from 10 days at Melia and can’t praise it enough. We’re a couple (34/44) who wanted a last-minute break in the sun.

We bought the holiday at a bargain price and, if I’m being honest, initially were worried that the price seemed ‘too good to be true.’ How wrong we were!

We were impressed from the moment we entered due to the beautifully maintained gardens, pool area and lobby. The rooms were really spacious and recently renewed with a fantastic, powerful shower. We paid slightly more for a pool view but were so glad we did as the balcony was a great place to sit in the sun. We had room 1538 in block A which got the sun all afternoon/evening.

The best thing about the hotel was the food - we couldn’t believe the quality of the dishes on offer and the selection of hot and cold choices all freshly cooked and presented beautifully. There really was something for everyone but if you love good quality ingredients and food you’ll be pleasantly surprised!

The staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough to help you. We noticed the exceptional standards of cleanliness throughout the hotel from the pool area being thoroughly cleaned throughout the day, the spotless rooms to the cleaners in the restaurant sweeping every crumb.

The only suggestion for improvement we would have is the selection of cocktails on offer as we found these to be quite limited. However, if you love spirits, you’ll love this place as the measures are huge!

We feel so lucky that we managed to find this place and can’t believe the quality of the offer for the price. Thank you to all staff involved for a great stay!

Jet 2 sent us here after booking us into the Sentido Neptun Hotel as they decided not to open 4 days before we were due to fly out. We were not told that two out of the three buildings were occupied by Ukrainian refugees. Only one restaurant was open for us to use, all the others shut. The water slides were shut for most of our 2 week stay. The beach was shut to us, no sun beds and no beach bar. They only started yesterday to prepare to open it up. The entertainment was non existent. The food was ok more often then not it was cold. There was no bottled water in the room you had to use a water machine, no complimentary toiletries. The bedding/towels changed every day. The reception particularly need to learn some English. The hotel itself is ok, very clean. We made the most of our holiday as most of Sunny Beach was shut as it’s early in the season. No internet in rooms either

Dear Critic140863 Firstly we would like to thank you for taking the time to share your personal impression of your recent holiday with us. We understand your point of view and the dissatisfaction that you were not accommodated in the hotel of your choice. Yes, we have accommodated refugees from Ukraine and they are primarily mothers with children and elderly people, who seeking protection. We believe that our gesture will be understood and appreciated. As a hotel does a lot of things to have a green policy and not use so much plastic daily, we have updated procedures. One of them is a bottle of glass in every room for water and the guests can pour water at any time, using the water machine on each floor in the hotel. This solution reduces the use of bottled water and contributed to our green policy. In the bathrooms we have also applied this, using dispensers for toiletries. We hope that every small change matters. Unfortunately, the opening of the beach does not always depends of the hotel. We are doing our best to be as written in our description: 15/05, but this year was a delay of days due to the concessionaire company. We are really sorry that you were not able to use our slides, due to the bad weather we delayed their opening. We are very sorry that you had no possibility to test all our restaurants, unfortunately our main restaurants open one by one with every building. During your stay we had guests only in one building and one restaurant was open, offering themed dinners and a variety of dishes. According to our description Indian and Chinese restaurants will be open in July and August. Animation evening programs was organized inside at the Animation hall, because the evenings are still cold. The animation program is fully accessible to all our guests and can be found on several information boards in the hotel. We are deeply apologize that the Wi-Fi connection was not satisfactory enough for you during your stay and that you are dissatisfied with our colleagues at the reception. Every feedback is very important for us, because we are constantly working to improve our services. Your positive review about the cleanliness in the hotel is appreciated by us and we thank you very much for noticing our efforts to keep the hotel clean. We hope that it would not be a negative impression for the chain, every year we improve our services and we hope that we will have a new opportunity to provide a good holiday. Best Regards, Your Meliá Sunny Beach team

We stayed at the Melia Sunny Beach for 5 nights from the 12th of July for 5 nights and I don’t have enough words to describe how wonderful this hotel is. Everywhere is spotless and the staff is so attentive to make sure they clean anything within a matter of seconds.
The food choice is impressive as the hotel has 4 restaurants and all of them amazing. The layout of the buffet is very elegant for an All Inclusive of 4* and there are so many waiters ready to take your plate and clean your table.
The burger station is also so tasty and I love that this hotel has branded sodas as Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite etc.
The rooms are minimalistic and spacious, with plenty of space to move around unlike other hotels where you can only fit a bed. ( we had a pool view
Standard room). The bathroom was such a beautiful surprise with big wall mirror and my favourite thing that had me WOW was the fact that the hotel’s refillable toiletries are RITUALS… , an amazing brand that I personally use at home too. I have never seen any hotel of 4* to use it before and I have to say it gives the hotel such a plus.
The beach is a short walk from the hotel and it has its own umbrellas and sunbeds which is also an added value as well as a beach bar where you can get panini, ice cream and soft drinks. (As a side note I would have preferred the beach bar to be opened from 9am instead of 10:30 as it can get very hot during summer and if you get earlier to the beach it’s good to have an option to hydrate yourself.)

Thank you to all the staff for their hard work as without you the hotel wouldn’t be the same!

This will be our preferred hotel if we return to Sunny Beach.

Me and my partner stayed at the Melia Sunny beach hotel during June 2022, our first time in Bulgaria and having stayed there, it won’t be our last.

We arrived in reception and we were greeted by one of the managers (can’t remember his name) and welcomed us to the hotel, very friendly asked us about our stay. Reception staff got us sorted and to our room, room was spacious with air con, comfortable bed, television, balcony, nice bathrooms, all clean and nice.

The hotel is spacious with more than one large buffet style restaurants, large choice of foods, with some cooked in front of you, all tasty and with something for everyone to eat, food intolerance is also catered for. All inclusive with local lager on tap with red, white and rose wine also on tap.
Staff constantly cleaning up used plates and glasses, sweeping up the floor and always pleasant.

Hotel has 7 pools, two main ones not heated but the shallower pool for kids is, three smaller pools for babies/toddlers and the indoor pool, life guards are on watch at all times, main pool has three water slides.

During the day there are themed areas for snacks, by main pool it is an American themed snack bar serving burgers, hotdogs and fries with a Ford Mustang car to add to the theme.
Next to the heated pool is the Italian theme with outside pizza oven and again themed with a Fiat 500, you really will not go hungry or thirsty at this hotel.

Entertainment every night, including the mini disco for kids.
The beach is four minutes walk from hotel, it has its own section of beach with free to use sun-loungers, snack bar and toilets, workers walk up and down clearing litter etc all through the day, clean beach with warm sea.
Local town is a short walk from hotel with the usual tourist gift shops and bars etc.

All staff were friendly, helpful, kept the hotel very clean and tidy, housekeepers kept rooms nice and clean and again all friendly.
The manager who welcomed us at the beginning of our stay, actually showed me where one of the themed vehicles were as I couldn’t find it, shook our hand and thanked us for our stay., top notch customer service.

Give this hotel a try, we are glad we did snd the best review you can leave somewhere is to say you want to go back next year, we do.

I don’t think you have to book at the either restaurant. We knew people who just walked into them without booking. Apparently the Chinese is a make your own soup and not very good. We didn’t go just other people telling us not to bother! Can’t speak for the Indian as didn’t go or hear any views off anyone.
